      It sorta looks like the Ps Remove Tool is blurring where it filled in the birds with water. It doesn't seem to incorporate the adjacent water texture. Is that typical of Remove Tool results? If so, I don't see the benefit of it vs using the Spot Healing Brush. I thought all the evangelists made the Remove Tool seem miraculous. What do you think? Have you done side x side comparison of those 2 Ps tools on that same bird image? Thx for the vid.

    For those that didn't know this, you can always toggle the LR healing overlays by hitting the "H" key shortcut. Very helpful if you're doing multiple healing steps in very close proximity. (Saves a bit of time versus going down to the tool bar.)

    FYI I found that using either the Remove tool in Photoshop or Content Aware Remove in Lightroom that I always seem to get a poor resolution results. I noticed you have the same problem in this video. What I have found is that if I use the Generative Fill in the Photoshop Beta version, I get very good results. Also, thanks for doing these videos. I always look forward to seeing them.

      I totally agree. The results Anthony got from both apps was unacceptable. (Anthony did admit that they weren't great, but they were poor, as you could notice how low-res they were even when zoomed out.) It's been hit-and-miss for me, even with Generative Fill in the Photoshop beta. But that app is beta, so no harm done.

    I think Lightroom’s content aware remove tool is more like the spot healing brush tool in Photoshop; they both use content-aware technology. Whereas the new remove tool in Photoshop uses AI to remove things and can generate new pixels that don’t exist in the image.

    Anthony, I love your videos and especially this one. It is very helpful. I have found that if you nibble away at items to remove and not get too greedy it works extremely well with very little artifacts. Keep them coming!

    Glad to hear the Remove Tool is now in regular Photoshop without having to open the Beta version. Plus it has better controls that I don't think were available in the Beta version.

    That would be very useful to remove things that are on the borders of the photographs, like the birds that are only partially shown. It would give more attention to those that are perfectly placed on the picture.

    Or you can click the H key to turn the overlay off in LR, so you can correct something underneith an overlay.

    stand alone objects are easy and have been easy for years with many tools. Content aware in LR actually works well. Try to remove unwanted object edging out from behind your main subject and now we're having an interesting conversation.

    How does the Photoshop content aware vs Lightroom content aware remove compare. Also photoshop content aware vs remove compare?
    Thanks for this helpful tutorial. I will be experimenting with my above questions.

    The Photoshop remove tool is currently saving me time editing images from a local 50's festival of dancing, cars / hot rods and motocycles. (Yes and Elvis). Try as I might, there is always distractions in the background to clean up. Note- the removal tool only works on a pixel layer.

    Let's wait for an integration of the PS remove tool in LR in the future. Adobe may be interested in mutualizing development efforts, I think. Common features may be improved in both areas.

    I have noticed that the tool when used in LR can leave artifacts and smudges. These are noticeable when viewed at 100%. For my stock images this would get a rejection from the agency and it can be a problem for images used in camera club competitions.

    So, I am using PS 24.6 and my Spot Healing Tool does not have any options for any other tool(s), like I see at 0:43; so how do I get this option?

  • @AR-vf7vg
    @AR-vf7vg Год назад

    Beats me why you did not activate in LR (one of) the "highlight the selection" option (keyboard shortcut H as mentioned above) to (totally) match the user experiance/procedure with when You where in PS.
    then exporting and comparing zoomed-in side by side - and of a variety of different 'subjects cases' ..that should have been donne.

    Having a new problem with Photoshop and wondering if you have come across this............the remove tool will not work in Photoshop, but does work in Photoshop Beta. With Photoshop, every time I select something to remove I get an error message that says "Cannot complete your request because of a program error". I get two choices, Ok or Learn How to Fix. If I choose Learn How to Fix it takes me to a page on the Adobe website addressing how to fix program errors when opening or saving files, nothing about the Remove Tool. Your thoughts when you get a chance. Already been through uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop, but problem persists.

    I don't understand why there are differences in such tools between the two apps. Can someone explain?
    I recently tried removing an object from a landscape in LRC and it was not good. Tried the different methods. I then took it to PS and hey presto the rusty old 44-gallon drum was gone and replaced with a reasonable representation of what might have been behind it.

    • @melodyphillips2388

      PS is using AI, but LR isn't yet. I think it just comes down to that.

  • @TheOlandex
    @TheOlandex Год назад

    So the difference is that the PS Remove tool is AI based, while the LrC content aware tool is not. As a result the PS Remove tool is going to produce superior results pretty consistently.

    On a Mac you must have OS 12 or higher for Ps Remove Tool to operate. So on my 2014 iMac which does not support anything higher than OS 11.something, the Ps Remove Tool does not function. Guess I have to consider a new computer.

    A sharper overall photo would have been a better choice to check the quality of the replaced areas.
