My car in HS back in 2007 was a ‘71 Maverick. Put a built 302 in it. 9” rear, 5 lug ‘68 mustang front suspension.
I wish I still had that car. I’d drop a big block in, or turbo the 6 cyl.
Great and unexpected video which made it even better..never loved the mustangs but this one gets a big HELL YEAH!! I'd love to see Ryan take the small tire street game over with this car..I'd actually love this caliber car on the TV show.
Id love to have my high school car back! I feel that "dream building" your high school car years later would be one of the coolest personal accomplishments. Very few would ever know.
Same I drug mine around for 25 years with dreams of a full build ( 70 340 duster ) but life got in the way and I ended up basically giving it away …( it was a factory 318 car but I had put all junkyard 340 components in it plus what little performance stuff I could afford . I ended up sticking the 340 in a 86 3speed/OD factory dodge work van it was way faster and scarier then it ever should have been! Lol
Gonna be a sick ride. Can't wait to see the finished product 🙌
Remember you, mike G, and Jerry and Justin fighting it in small tire at pro street nights. You guys are who I looked up to back in the early 2000’s. Used to come by the shop till I felt like I over stayed my welcome. Was good times back then I had my 98 cobra on spray and wanted to be on your guys level.

I remember my 2nd car my grandfather gave me for my high school graduation was a 1986 Mustang LX coupe. To this day I still wish I had that car. Nothing fancy, no V8, but I loved that car.

That's kickass! I bought my first car at 14 and it was a 89 gt 5 speed as well! Sat in it in the drive way for 2 years pretending to drive it b4 I got my license! Drove it for 3 months then a girl blew a stop sign and totalled!

I love that a fox body is what started it all...it was also the car that got me into street racing as well.

I had a 90 LX hatch 5.0 same exact color that was purchased at Town & County Ford in OKC on NW Expressway.Brings back great memories,wish I still had it!That shop sure had a ton of chassis jigs.
Your car was actually quicker and faster the LX have the same drive train as of the GT with a lot less weight killer car I remember them days✌️

1990 gt here. 306 sbf built wile in college. 300 wet shot. On shot it made 635 to rear wheels. Back in 1999. Good Ole days.
So he has 2 Camaros the chevelle and now the mustang. All of them are top notch quality build race cars
Now all Ryan needs a charger “68-70”

I am full of admiration for this man's accomplishments and ethos. He is inspirational.
However, at which point should someone stop calling a car " ....the car I had in high school ..." given that there appears to be precious little of the original car actually there?
I guess nostalgia tends to override logic, and in some cases is kinda admirable.
Yeah it comes down to that age old question of what exactly is considered a car? From a metal perspective less than half the original metal is still present, none of the glass, none of the interior, none of the drive train. Might be easier to say this is the roof and rear quarter panels off my old car, rather than it being the car.
Must not have meant that much to him if he's going to trash 90% of the car kind of crazy to be honest. He's really going to be upset if he crashes it within the first year and nothing is left of it which could happen on the street as well

Cool to see someone else still have their high school car. Looks like will be very cool when done. Actually, I still have mine too, a 1962 SS Impala which is about to get started on it's come back from sitting since 88'. I've owned it since 75' (owned now for 47yrs). It's about to go to local shop to get an Art Morrison chassis put under it to modernize it. Still up in air to what engine, small block, big block or LS? Anyway, can't wait to see your fox body when it's finished as well as can't wait to get mine back on road. Mine's been idle since 88' since as all of us car guys know, life gets in the way and now being disable makes it even harder but continue to fight to get mine back on road before not here anymore. Would love to cruise it before I'm not able to and then it gets passed back down to my best friend's (who bought it from) oldest kid. Keep up all the hard work.

You should get a Racetech seat, just for the saftey aspect, their on a different level. Great build, DMC is also a next level shop. Y'all take care.

I think it would be cool if you took the Foxbody and put a 9.5 deck SBF around 400+cid with twin turbos or a Procharger with zoomies for the exhaust and if you put turbos on it don't put bull horns on it either stop at the fender cutout or put a small kick up on it and if you keep the cage and chassis just clear coated I think you should continue with the same theme in the engine bay and do the cold side in stainless and the hot side in titanium and have it all polished by DCF up in Minnesota he's the guy that does all the polishing for all the radial guys and if you decide not to go the radial racing route with the car you can always make it a light and fast small block small tire No Prep car and only take it to the big payout races like the ones in Rockingham, North Carolina for Dig or Die and Darlington, South Carolina for the Palmetto No Prep but all of the Dig or Die races always pay big for small tires like the last one that just happened less than a month ago the winner walked away with $62,000 and then you have War in the Woods, Yellow Belly,and a few others in the mid west that pay pretty well for small tire but you should also look into getting the Tin Soldier's Race Cars "Low Prep" kit so you can run the current 4link brackets you already have and go radial racing or big tire racing and then when you want to go small tire No Prep racing bolt those brackets in and head to the track and also I think a set of TBM brakes would look good on that car and go check out @Tin Soldier's Race Cars, @Turbo John, @The Old Man's Garage, and @Street Racing Channel all of them have good info on small tire No Prep racing and street racing

we're nothing without our faith brother. I'm sure we've all been mad at God at some point but that's how children do but God is our father and loves us unconditionally and will always love us and have our back. He has a plan for all of us we just have to be patient and wait till he thinks we're ready. Alot of times we only have real conversation with him when we're in trouble. I myself am going through a really bad spot in my life now and sometimes find it hard to keep going. I know he has a plan for me so I just keep my faith and move forward.
