I have always liked Ryan Martin. He seems like a really humble guy who hasn't let the fame of being on TV along with him always being close to if not in front of the pack. I can't think of anyone having anything bad to say about the man.

Funny $50k isn't even half the cost of most of the engines that these guys run. An engine pushing more than 2500hp is at least $100k although Steve Morris is making an LS for around $80 that can handle up to 2500hp. Anything more than that gonna cost ya at least $100k
They also get paid by Discovery and Pilgrim just to be there.
So you get a flat rate per episode plus you're winnings
Price varies widely. If you build it from the ground up and don't buy a crate motor with bells and whistles you will save a tremendous amount of money
@@2ballsyourjaws we built my uncle a 5:50 bracket car in 1998 that he is still running today.
Runs a little 427 small block but he builds himself at a local speed shop that a friend of his owns.
We were figuring it up a few months ago and I can build a car just like it today turn key for about 65 Grand.
That's ready to go to the track.
For $100,000 I can sit in my shop and build a low four to high three second car.

I don't want you to think I'm trying to argue or anything we're all entitled to opinions it's just been my experience if people take a little time and be patient and shop for parts and don't try to get it together and run it down the road right now it's real easy to just be patient and build a car for cheaper and still have the same quality.. unfortunately most people in this hobby don't have time. It's an expensive habit and a fun one. I just had to give it up.

Hell I have a buddy of mine that has a 2000 Z28 Camaro with a built 5.3 LS motor running two turbos on the street and he can pull on the track and mount a set of slicks and run 6:30 with the street car.
That's pretty damn Swift for something he probably don't have $20,000 tied up in.
We built the roll cage inside the damn car sitting in his shop.

You gotta have a good team to be competitive. Driver, car, team and obviously parts. Sponsors don't give away parts to anyone just bcus they have them.
