This dist is called rollout-it is the dist the car can 'roll' before it no longer is blocking the lite beam which must remained blocked until the green lite comes on.. which other timers also use, to know to start timing you (after you have taken off on your run). The average human has about a .250 (1/4 of a sec) reaction time, which you add to the time it takes your car to roll enough for the front tire to clear the lite beam it WAS blocking. Your reaction time is determined by how close to making your lite beam become unblocked was to exactly when the green comes on.. so long as the car doesn't move backwards and allow the beam to momentarily (and prematurely) connect. I am an old bracket racer that has worked my way up to a 6 sec dragster.. and I ALWAYS try an stage as 'shallow' as possible-and intentionally 'flicker' the stage bulb (as I bump forward)-it will come on/flicker momentarily.. go out.. and then come back on when the car finds it's unwound spot-I do not bump it anymore and immediately set the transbrake, then wait for the tree to start. IMO this is the only way to have the same amount of rollout (in the same lane) every time you stage, which doesn't really matter to these guys-esp when using the instant green, b/c they shouldn't be able to redlite unless they guess, and because most cars have to roll 6-11 inches before the lite beam connects (to start the timers) they can still guess so long as they're within .200-.300 of the green coming on.. unless you roll back (this imperceivable amount we can't notice, but the lite sure does). This makes the stage beam think you've already rolled forward and cleared it.. and instantly starts timing (sometimes before the green has actually come on)-I believe they said Kye was .0008 too quick. This doesn't nec mean Kye jumped, b/c the car could have moved back just enough to let the stage beam-that is checking itself 1000's of time a second-connect as he was bringing up the throttle while on the transbrake (which simply engages the reverse and forward functions of an automatic transmission at the same time, creating a mechanical/hydraulic lock that holds the car in place until the reverse side is disengaged/released-typically while the motor is revved up to whatever the racer wants it to be at launch time). When you turn on that 2nd lite you have announced 'you're ready'-if your car backs out of the beams 'bad on you'-roll in a little deeper next time. Man thats tight light cutting....Wow Kye can cut a great light. Shows experience and alot of it.....BUT.... That's a "Drag car light" and you released on green but the relay switch (caught movement on the beam) in the transition of (yellow light off and green on). The electrical current power flowed to green light......turning it to red catching a .008 sec movement in the light transition.
These aren't professional racers. These are media stars. Professional racers don't allow anyone that isn't on their team anywhere near the starting line. Professional racers aren't scared of turning on scoreboards and handing out time-slips.
If I remember right on a pro tree you can actually red light with out technically jumping. Its a long explanation but basically if you cut a ridiculous light you will red light even if green was on because you shouldn't be able to see the light and react in under something like .0400 seconds. So they assume any one under that guessed and didnt actually see the light. Hope that kind of makes sense.
@@thegangster3786 No, it doesn't. You want to know why? It's a machine. A machine does not have the ability to assume. That's a human quality. I wouldn't have thought I'd have to point that out but I guess I do.
@@brians48now just that's your low iq, it is true, its been known for years that human reaction time along with mechanical reactions equals 0.400 anything below is a JUMP , stage location also impacts this, like you can be too close to the actual start line in pre stage so if you try to predict the light you can Jump due to the car passing the main beam before the 0.4 auto red

The guys are going when the last yellow goes out Which is NOT the same as going when the green comes on. There is a delay between the events... But the rule is "Go on GREEN", NOT "Go on yellow out". If the 2nd beam breaks BEFORE the green is on then it is a "jump start". As simple as that. In the really old days you went when the flagman (girl) feet left the ground as they jumped to bring the flag down. Often the car was past the flagman BEFORE the flag got to their waist. Teeth were often loosened because of that.
I wouldn’t be to happy either like Kelly said and they agreed to was going off video no? Then they go to logs cuz you don’t want to make the wrong choice cuz Ryan’s not going to say ya let’s rerun it when asked about it.
Apparently, there's a lack of knowledge concerning Christmas trees. There are two ways it can catch you leaving too early. One, of course, is forward motion. The other is popping your wheels, vertically, out of the beams. Which appears to be the case here.
If you're going off the tree, the light is the final call on it, not the time slip or the tower. The video shows the light was green on the tree. That should've been it. Going up to the tower is meaningless since they aren't going off of times slips.
Hi kelly, you agreed to race on the pro tree, you can't always go by the Light learn about the pro tree and stop thinking that you are street racing. There is no such thing unappro tree about your tire cracking when the light turns green it is all about reaction time from when the Amber turns green.
@Terrance Adrian sensors fail all the time and he would've went with the video evidence that the light was green before a tire cracked the fault was with the track but the decision should have been placed in the hands of a non biased person for that
This is why you don't have racemaster racing in competition. racemaster needs to be a neutral person. Chuck being a 405 guy looks bad when he sides with Ryan.

This is supposed to be fair I could see why Kai Kelly is upset first of all Chuck and Ryan are from the same place I think that has something to do with it
So sad that literally NONE of these "drag racers" know enough about drag racing to understand how this redlight is because they moved the lights around on the tree without telling the tree system about the change (it wouldn't support this change, its very stupid).
@@FinnellRacing Yeah there's no logic to avoiding pro or even amature ambers, these guys aren't going to cut pro stock reaction times anyway (if they could they'd have a job in the NHRA) and even if they DID that would only make the show BETTER.
@Snap-off You are exactly right.. but 'the tree' is obviously a difficult concept to 'splain' to many/most (here anyway). The show producers clearly love instigating/allowing this type of brash garbage (and the trash talking that always comes with it) too, obviously in the interest of their ratings.. and based on many comments (we are both seeing) here.. they're doing a mighty fine job...
@@mikeburns6412 The more it percolates in my mind, I keep thinking "they can't be that stupid, and build cars that fast". The producers of the show must have directed them to act that way about the red light for the dramatic effect. I'd bet dollars to donuts Kye knew he needed to leave simultaneously with the green going OFF and just barely missed, and the rest of the talking was scripted/directed.
HE LEFT BEFORE THE GREEN LIGHT WENT OFF, NOT BEFORE IT CAME ON. Since the green light was in the amber bulb’s spot, his leaving before it went off triggered the redlight, thus disqualifying him even though, as you can easily see in the video, he DID NOT actually leave before the green light itself came on.
He did not read light he caught it in between red and green so before that green light came on he was out of there but he didn't go when the red light was on but he's still not lying and Kelly should get the race
You would have to be remedial if you couldn't understand the issue. Whoever's bright idea to put the green light in a yellow (delay) socket, then put a delay time in the starting sequence is an idiot. As the race was run, they were running a .400 pro tree - which is what was shown when Chuck reviewed the stats in the tower. When the green light came on in a normally delay position there was a .400 window that would show red, even though you could have seen a "green" light. To run the race as they intended - green means go - the tree should have either just had the green bulbs in the bottom CORRECT socket, or the tree set to .000 delay. Who ever made the call to set the tree up in that manner and left the .400 delay in the sequence pooched the race.
I'm obviously a little late to this video. But I read alot of the comments. Could someone please explain how they called it a red light. The video clearly shows his car didn't move, till after the light turned green. Why is that a jump I don't understand.
In the video Chuck was seen cheering immediately after the race because Kye red lit. Then when Kye walks up to Chuck when Chuck is in his car, he acts all surprised when Kye told him he red lit. That's clearly deceiptful on Chuck's part - he already knew Kye had red lit and he clearly showed favoritism toward Ryan. Chuck and Ryan are both 405 guys - I get it. But Chuck has a clear conflict of interest and he should not have been the one making the final decision. He should have recused himself.

So I’ll ask again, when have they EVER gone to a track supervisor, AFTER seeing that his wheels didn’t crack before green on VIDEO??? Have you EVER seen them do that? Kye is not the first video they had reveiw on all seasons of no prep kings So what was different in his video compared to other videos they watched? Any other time, tires don’t crack before green, it’s a race. Now, with Kye……. Oh we have to go look at the computer. Come in bruh. You don’t see the games they play?
Cry Kelley always has something to protest
Kye cannot win without leaving early
Thank you for saying that... some won't say it but it's true..
Nitrous car / Turbo hater!
Kye's ego was severely bruised. Give him a couple childrens Tylenol, a juice box and send him to bed early. He'll grow out of it someday.
Best comment ever! You hit the nail right on the head...
they dont call him Cry Kelly for nuttin
There is a delay with the tree to stop ppl from guessing the light and kye is known for this and left a little early
I'm with kye Kelly on this. He never red lit at all the light was green before kye Kelly left
Are you dumb?!! You are literally saying that the time sheet is lying. You can not see a .008 red with the naked eye. That's WHY we have time slips!!! You're talking about milliseconds!! Lol
Man thats tight light cutting....Wow Kye can cut a great light. Shows experience and alot of it.....BUT....
That's a "Drag car light" and you released on green but the relay switch (caught movement on the beam) in the transition of (yellow light off and green on). The electrical current power flowed to green light......turning it to red catching a .008 sec movement in the light transition.
you cant really "cut" a light when its instant. It is just guessing at that point.
They have huge budgets for these shows why not get a phantom slo mo camera so you can truly slow it down .
You don't need it. The time slip showed he red lit.
What night is this on tv
Old news , they screwed up by removing the bulbs , the tree is set to activate 3 yellows not instant green ,Kye was right
The rules were discussed prior to racing, he knew how it was gonna work. He's wrong for crying about it
all the racers agreed to do instant green with no yellow bulbs to replicate their flashlight races do your research
Alot of tracks pull the yellow bulbs to make it instant green but they dont put a green bulb in a yellow socket
@@SaginawFire kye does what he does best...cry
These aren't professional racers. These are media stars. Professional racers don't allow anyone that isn't on their team anywhere near the starting line. Professional racers aren't scared of turning on scoreboards and handing out time-slips.
Always someone crying about something...
That's cry Kelly for you
It sucks to loose, the clock doesn’t care.
Kyle, should be happy he cuts a tight light. This time he was just .00008 seconds to fast!
.008
.0008 is the size of a hair cut into 8 pieces the car shakes that much..
That makes zero sense. Nobody is assuming anything. The tree doesn't assume. The timeslip doesn't assume.
no...
@@brians48now it makes total sense. Go race pro tree with something that is actually fast and you will understand.
Still love the fact it's called "Street" outlaws, when every car is trailerd to the strip.
Exactly why I stopped watching. That and Ryan Martin loves to talk. Endlessly. Don't like him much.
@Tony Komski Ryan Martin loves to talk....endlessly??? Lmfao!!! You are so full of it!! He is one of the nicest, most respected guys around.
Oh, you're a Krye Kelley fan right? 🤣 🖕
Guessing your camera isn’t on a boom pole and cost $50,000. They are also going off a machine that goes off of lasers that measure to thousands of a second. The tree and lasers say he red light and that’s what they are going off of.
REDLIGHT.... NO CRYING.... LOAD AND LEAVE.. BLAME YOURSELF....THE END.
And when the foot is quicker than the eye
Live by the lights and die by the lights.
I hope Kye doesn't try professional drag racing anytime soon. 😭😭
they dont call him Cry Kelly for nuttin
Someone please explain this being a red light ? Is it because the tree knows he had to have guessed the hit because of human’s capable reaction time?
Kya had to guess the light to have A Chance.Does he expected them to over rule it.If so everyone will have an argument. There has to be A fine line and it just so happens Kya was right on it.It does suk in A way when there is that much money on the line but pro tree is A tree.
He went red , I was there at that time. Sucks that San Antonio race way is gone 😖. I hope someone opens a new track in this area soon.
The guys are going when the last yellow goes out
Which is NOT the same as going when the green comes on.
There is no yellow the way this drag racing is set up..go on green of the guess of green. No one will ever stage deep.
Why don't they just do it like f1 where the final light delay is randomised meaning you can't guess the light
I wouldn’t be to happy either like Kelly said and they agreed to was going off video no? Then they go to logs cuz you don’t want to make the wrong choice cuz Ryan’s not going to say ya let’s rerun it when asked about it.
Ryan knew he won what redo a race when you clearly won?
This morning i RED LIT...
UNFORTUNATELY THERE WAS A STATE TROOPER BEHIND ME
Slow it down they both left before green, kye just barely left first, I mean barely!
Apparently, there's a lack of knowledge concerning Christmas trees. There are two ways it can catch you leaving too early. One, of course, is forward motion. The other is popping your wheels, vertically, out of the beams. Which appears to be the case here.
3: Your car can roll/vibrate BACKWARDS and let the beam reconnect as well.
He has a history of jumping!
Guy Kelly did his job so good they thought he red lighting hit the gas as it turns green
This ain't from two weeks ago.
Bullshit!! They screwed KK SMH!! That’s 405 for y’all!👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
Doc just there catching flies 😂🤣😂
As a racer at the 845 NPRC , Big or small the three wins every time that’s why we use it is for Kelly is a bit of a sore loser.
Can someone please tell discovery that there doesn't need to be 83 cam angles per race? Can we get that slimmed dow to like 2?
Kinda getting old watching them race each other week after week.
Kye should stop guessing on the tree especially at these tracks
If you're going off the tree, the light is the final call on it, not the time slip or the tower. The video shows the light was green on the tree. That should've been it. Going up to the tower is meaningless since they aren't going off of times slips.
That's what you get for trying to cheat when you know you're not fast enough you've got to cheat haven't you ahhaa
Also true races always race by points
Kye always whiiiiiiiiines sooooooo muuuuuuch
Hi kelly, you agreed to race on the pro tree, you can't always go by the Light learn about the pro tree and stop thinking that you are street racing. There is no such thing unappro tree about your tire cracking when the light turns green it is all about reaction time from when the Amber turns green.
I think had that happened to Ryan that chuck would have overturned that due to the video
No he wouldn't because time slips don't lie!! What are people not understanding about this. It was a .008 red!! No matter WHO it was!!
@Terrance Adrian sensors fail all the time and he would've went with the video evidence that the light was green before a tire cracked the fault was with the track but the decision should have been placed in the hands of a non biased person for that
Kry Kelley... Wa Wah wah waaaaaaaaaah....
Chuck if the biggest Ryan fluffer
If it happens to Chuck….way different story….
7:23 docs face🤣🤣
Cry Kelly always crying guessed the light didn't work for him maybe racing strait up without jumping and crying would help him out
This is why you don't have racemaster racing in competition. racemaster needs to be a neutral person. Chuck being a 405 guy looks bad when he sides with Ryan.
What he said was right though. I don't see how it's favoritism when a professional track tree log says he jumped.....
That shows the man who he is
at 1:08 at .25 playback speed you can see everything clear as can be
good by CryKelly... lost all respect for you over that performance...
@Thomas Warner I agree what the showed it did not go the way he wanted so he was upset. Not sure if he acts luke an only child in real life, but if he does I feel sorry for Lizzy! ✌
What a little Cry Baby 🤦♂️😂 cheaters like him give racing a bad name he’s a known jumper and has admitted to it on camera and laughed like it’s just the funniest thing just a Bully 🤦♂️🤷♂️😂😂💯
Discovery channel?
I've been motorcycle drag racing for 40 years, to actually say, " they said I red lit ", is thee most UNPROFESSIONAL
statement ever. Beams of light and a computer, doesn't qualify for " they "
Thank God it wasn't a
" arm drop " race.
lights green. kye goes. red light. how? literally how
This is supposed to be fair I could see why Kai Kelly is upset first of all Chuck and Ryan are from the same place I think that has something to do with it
Not really, chuck went to the booth and got the actual times. Kye Red lit .
Kye don’t get his way he’s out of here
So sad that literally NONE of these "drag racers" know enough about drag racing to understand how this redlight is because they moved the lights around on the tree without telling the tree system about the change (it wouldn't support this change, its very stupid).
They want no yellow. this is what you get.
Of course they told them to act this way. It is a tv show folks and if you think it isn’t at least 40% acting this show is made just for you.
7:22 docs face😂😂
HE LEFT BEFORE THE GREEN LIGHT WENT OFF, NOT BEFORE IT CAME ON. Since the green light was in the amber bulb’s spot, his leaving before it went off triggered the redlight, thus disqualifying him even though, as you can easily see in the video, he DID NOT actually leave before the green light itself came on.
Ryan is the only driver out of all 405 drivers that acts like they have any sense. All others kry cry like baby's.
He did not read light he caught it in between red and green so before that green light came on he was out of there but he didn't go when the red light was on but he's still not lying and Kelly should get the race
So the video shows the car never moved and chuck says he redlit.
I will forever be team fireball 🔥 but I hate track trees, flashlight or arm drop is my preference
SHOCKER IS NO MORE.
we all know if it was the other way around, Kelley would be on his knees crying.....Ryans race.
Doc just standing there 😅
Doc's gd face tho!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"We not using the time slips!" Unless it helps the 405..
Kyle, MAN UP. It’s called racing not winning, some you win, some you lose
I'm obviously a little late to this video. But I read alot of the comments. Could someone please explain how they called it a red light. The video clearly shows his car didn't move, till after the light turned green. Why is that a jump I don't understand.
Y so many haters on here?
why he crying like him red lighting is impossible lol. Ryan had him nervous that’s all
This is like 3 years old. Ryan no longer drives the red car in NPK.
If that was Chuck he would be going nuts. Spitting on people and fighting. Im just saying.
This was last year or the year before because shocker is being rebuilt its on Kye's channel
Chuck is always going to side with any 405 teammate to be on top if light comes on and than goes off it is a fair start
Cry Kelly red lit....fin
Light, was red! You lost Kye!
Quit yer friggin cryin.
This was years ago!
The time says it. Chuck for President
Kye always the punk, he is still the same punk today.
