Doug Pinnick! The most humble, funny, friendly guy around! King'sX NEVER held back a picture, a hug or talk despite how tired they were after a show...all my love and respect for Doug, Jerry and Ty!!!
What a fucking legend. Doesn't play bass until he's 23, then one day decides "Ok, time to become the world's greatest rock singer/bassist and change music forever."
most underappreciate metal bass player of all time. Best tone, most solid lines, absolutely flawless execution every time. Most legendary rhythm section in extreme metal history imo
King’s X are my favorite band ever. It’s awesome hearing Rex talk about how much of an influence they were or Pantera and Dimebag. Most criminally underrated band ever
Both bands made huge impacts on my life. dUg and Rex, you both will be inspirations for many bass players to come for years even after you have left this world...
Perfect team for this interview, 2 of the biggest bass titans, saw pantera 6 x and kings x 2, kings x was always cool to talk with after show, they don’t charge you 100 or more for a VIP pass or some shit, just down to earth good guys, I’d like to think dug is still a believer considering we are at the very end of everything, God bless both of them
Been a metalhead for over 30 years and these are some the people that changed my life. R.I.P. brothers Abbott. Much love and respect from a Portuguese metalhead in the UK. 🇵🇹🇬🇧❤️
The metalhead brotherhood its like been a biker no matter where yku are in the world you like metal you instantly have a friend/family, beauty of the genre
Came here for the death giveaway but i gotta say THIS IS REALLY ENJOYABLE TO SEE! Having people send in real mail to participate is exactly what I’m looking for this world to do again! Enjoyable and well curated content.. thank you Gibson tv
First town in Central Texas I lived in was round Rock Then Austin for 19 years… Two of the best bass players ever in music… Their music is nothing but inspirational for me Thanks Rex and dug Have met them both and their the coolest… Thank you Rex for including me on watch it go Good times🍻🍻🍻🎶🎶🎶
Mr. Corman is still in great shape! What a legend. I really really love the Poe series. Those are gothic masterpieces. Among other things Mr. Corman inspired me to write a book about the history of horror cinema. I hope he'll make it to 100!
Your shows are the coolest! You have the best guests. It is such an honor to hear their stories and history behind such legends. Really dig the monster scenes in between the interviews. Always look forward to seeing who you will have on your show next. Also you have the coolest metal patch jacket. Brings back memories of me wearing mine in high school. Also getting to see the Kiss store was exciting fior me to see. They have been my rock heroes since their very first album. Always learn something new i didnt know every time i watch the show. Thank you Piggy D and the production team for only delivering the best. 😎🤘
A) still the coolest series you guys do. B) as someone who started on bass, thank you for covering the low-end. C) I need a November's Coming Fire patch of my own.
Brilliant...I do have to admit, though, that I firmly believe that I was in the audience that performed Goldilox for the band first. Rock World in Birmingham, England, on the Gretchen tour. Doug started singing and we in the audience just took over and he stepped back from the mic and let us carry on. A truly magical experience. Met them all after and got those first two albums signed. Such nice guys.
Great Death giveaway! I was a teenager headbanger living in Altamonte Springs in 80’s, went to a different high school than Chuck. Didn’t know him personally, but remember seeing Chuck’s first band Mantas somewhere in Orlando around 85 or thereabouts. Of course, saw Death many times. Chuck was always badass, always will be. Love this content from Gibson, keep it coming Count D!!
Love interviews with Doug. Saw King’s X in Edinburgh in the early ‘90s. My favourite concert. Checking back, I see it was April 1990 and that within a period of months, Jane’s Addiction, Love/Hate and the Red Hot Chili Peppers all played the same, relatively short-lived venue. Didn’t see any of the other bands, unfortunately. From what friends tell me, Big John Duncan was present and being extremely charitable with Jane’s Addiction T-shirts at the Jane’s concert. Good times. Whoever was operating the Network (venue) got some great bands in.
@@gibsonguitar Would love to see: Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie, Jerry Only, Doyle and Danzig on the show! Also Corey Taylor and Wednesday 13 would be perfect too! Please make this happen Gibson! 🤟🏻🎃🤟🏻
Roger has had a awesome career, I didn't even look at the video timeline I came for the interview with Dug and Rex and was pleasantly surprised when Corman popped up, wish he had a longer interview too.
Greetings from the "Downeast"coast of Maine...........As long as I can remember,King`s X was always called the "musicians` musicians" and had more depth than the "normal" band...My step-brother actually took a few lessons from Ty Tabor and came away with such respect for his playing....
Great interview. Also check out the Galactic Cowboys who were also mentioned a couple of times in this interview. They were from the same time and scene!
dUg is THEE Godfather of modern rock and metal bass with that tight, compressed low end and the crunchy, distorted mids and highs. And he's been doing that since 1988. Without dUg, there would be no Darkglass Electronics. There would be no Black Album with bass. And a total gentleman to boot. The man's in his 70's and I hope I look that good now.
Everyone who knows dUg knows he’s one of the most innovative bassists and songwriters, but he is also one of the greatest most passionate singers ever too! dUg is just incredible.

Awesome episode - Dug is such an awesome guy - still listen to Out of The Silent Planet regularly - can’t believe he is now 73! Let me have some of what he’s having! 😂
Love that you guys at Gibson are still keeping this series alive. Growing up as a monster kid and a guitar player I couldn’t ask for more! Really love the pulp magazine/famous monsters format of these videos. 🤘
Dug is a very talented man and never has forgotten to treat everyone with kindness, going to a Kings X show is like no other, when Rex mentioned the whole audience singing it brought back chills to me, I remember what show, where it was and how the whole room was as one, I know Dug probably won't like this, but it felt like "Church", just pure spirit❤
Its about time this came out. I thought the show was canceled. Can we please get an idea as to what the cadence of this show is going to be going forward?

wow its so great to see rex and dug together. gibson ur killing it with this stuff!!!!
Gibson is killing it lately, Rex Brown is such an icon man.
He is no Dug Pinnick but he is an amazing bass player for sure.
So is dUg. He is one of only a few bass players who played a 12 string bass as his main instrument. He inspired so many musicians, including Dimebag.

What about Rebel Meets Rebel? He played bass on that band/album

Agreed. My buddy and I talked to Dug Pinnick for at least 45 minutes after a show in Baltimore Md. What a REAL dude, period.
nah Dug has said he no longer believes Christ is the son of god
I believe he believes, just keeps it hidden probably but then again sometimes the devil can take control if you let him
This series rules, production quality through the roof and getting the people we all want to hear from!!
