Sometimes gamers go too hard on game studios and game devs, forgetting that a lot of the people making these games are just as passionate as every gamer out there. So if the game doesn't live up to expectations or things go wrong at launch, the makers of the game are even more devastated than you can imagine. So thank you for those kind words.

honestly it looks like fallout in space. hopefully itll be good..but it is a bethesda game..and all bethesda games kinda play the same. skyrim, oblivion, fallout 4..the playstyles to each are very very similar, thats their niche.
I'm still cautiously optimistic, Todd likes to tell sweet little lies..
But gotta say, the creature design is so Star Wars-ish I love it.
Having watched and enjoyed a myriad of Starfield Direct reaction videos, this is by far and away my favorite. I so enjoyed the genuine emotion you showed us and your awe and excitement was palpable. I share your love of and connection with Bethesda games and even experienced the same gaming epiphany at the release of Oblivion, a life changing gaming moment for me and, it would seem, you. Same here! Oblivion was one of the first games I’ve ever played, and It was 1st open world RPG. And it blew my mind, this feeling of FREEDOM after 1st cave…I mean, I can’t even describe it. I didn’t just played Oblivion, I have lived in it
Sameeee I got so bored of watching reactions and people being negative or not letting themselves be excited, this was a breathe of fresh air
You missed at the end that there's some kind of alien powers. The player holds their hand out like they're gonna use the force and it messed with gravity.
i think it does more than mess with the gravity, the people straight up die by the looks of it, their face get grey and they are totally limp :)
The most interesting thing about that scene was watching all the weapons instantly vanish.

As a guy who could never get into space themed games, I’m going to call it now. Bethesda just made the best selling game of all time. I am beyond hyped for this game and I’m sure every other gamer just like me!

True, you have to take Todd's comments with a grain of salt unfortunately. He's been caught in misleading statements (sometimes pretty egregious ones at that) from Oblivion onward unfortunately. The game looks good though.
I remember playing Daggerfall and how much fun I had playing that game. Then when I saw Morrowind and played it for the first time, I was in complete heaven. I even tried my hand at modding so the amount of hours I spent in that game was astronomical. Then came Oblivion, and yes, I about fell out of my chair when I saw the first footage. It's been a fun 20+ years playing their games and I'm looking forward to Starfield taking my attention for years to come.

Miranda, I have watched reactions to the direct from probably 15-20 people but yours is the only one I have watched twice. Your reaction is so genuinely excited that it is downright contagious. I remember how much I really looked forward to each episode of RDR2 from you. I can not wait until you start a Starfield let's play!
This is definitely the best reaction I’ve seen. Most reactions are just people showing off in front of the camera and it just comes across as really fake and annoying but you come across as totally sincere and genuinely excited for the game. It’s made me subscribe to your channel anyway 😊👍🏼
i love your excitement and sense of wonder. your introduction to gaming sounds remarkably similar to mine. for me, gaming has literally saved my life. due to mental and physical health problems i have been largely housebound for over a decade. gaming is my escape. Bethesda get a lot of crap for the things they get wrong but people rarely want to give them credit for the many more awesome things they've achieved and it's refreshing to see someone like you do that. i would be delighted to join you on your adventures should you decide to stream your journey into the starfield! thanks for sharing and much love to you and yours.

I just stumbled upon your channel here late at night, and I have to say your deep dive is really refreshing. You have a relatable, interpersonal way of getting across to us viewers. You've shared your story at the beginning, and you also commented on a lot of things I've seen other influencers or friends not even mention, such as the minimalist UI or health bars, or how its not too overwhelming of a UI, etc. It's been great watching this, and having someone really get down to the nitty gritty of what Bethesda showed! Every time I see one of those games that take you to worlds far away, I realize I'll never see it in my lifetime. It is all the more important to see this in a very well made game.

A lot of people are complaining about the faces in this game. As someone who played the heck out of Oblivion and looked at those monstrous faces for hours. Starfield's faces sure do look infinitely better and something that I am very thankful for.

@Kishaloy B. People compare starfield faces to other AAA games out now. Yea, they look a bit worse, but compared to older Bethesda games, it's a great improvement.

One of the neatest details is that your encumbrance of everything youre carrying is based on mass not weight. So, you may be on a planet with .5 G's and not be overweight, but then travel to a planet with 1.5 G's and suddenly you are

Looking forward to this. It's funny how many elements I see that were in Freelancer in a very basic form - expanded greatly with much more detail here. I have played Freelancer story and with the open world mod many times. So I'm sure I'll have a great time with this someday.

Thank you for recording your reaction to this! I've been hyped for this game since the teaser trailer back in 2021, and it is definitely going to become my life. I saved up for an incredible PC because of it, because I wanted to experience it in the best quality possible. BGS are probably my favourite developers, their games are truly unique and I can't wait to immerse myself and become the captain of my own starship, which has been my life's dream since I was a child lmao. I'm with you 100% on getting to play the game, at least on the first playthrough, via my own perspective, essentially playing an idealised version of myself.
I pre-ordered the Constellation Edition the moment it became available where I am. Looking forward to that sweet watch and (hopefully) playing it on the 1st September! I hope your playthrough is as exciting and wonderful as it should be when you get to play it!

P.S. AGREED with the point on weapons becoming damaged being offputting. It’s a reason why I didn’t get into Breath Of The Wild as much as others did, because having every weapon I pick up break in 3-10 hits so I needed an inventory of hundreds of them just wasn’t a very appealing system to me.

13:25 ☺ You said it best, I am getting excited for this. If the main hub world is lived in and making the space and universe have a presence and substance it will do very very well. I don't have a machine capable of playing the game but I certainly look forward to enjoying the journey you take if you play it on the channel. First video of yours that I've seen, and it's so awesome to see so many people psyched for this game! I think the only thing that could make it better is if there's HOTAS support. It would be amazing to use a stick while flying and switch to a controller while on foot. That's what I did on No Mans Sky.

I have been trying to pick this apart, with a fine tooth comb, trying to find something to complain about, and I'm coming up short.
I've been a Bethesda fan boy for decades. Played all their games going back to Morrowind.
With Fallout 4's lackluster plot, and pseudo dialogue system, and Fallout 76's botched release, I was beginning to lose faith in my favorite developer.
But this showcase has revitalized that faith. I think the main point to bring up is that Fallout 76 was made by their smaller B team in about 2 years, where as Starfield's development began immediately after FO4's release by Bethesda's A team.
I genuinely believe it will be amazing. Even with 76's botched release, I still played it. Even with it being an unfinished buggy mess, I still enjoyed it, and put over 3,000 hours into it. So, even if Starfield is a buggy mess, I'm still gonna love it.
And as far as the Series X cap on 30 fps.. I genuinely don't understand everyone's obsession with games needing to be 60+ fps... I grew up on games in the 80s, where fps wasn't even a factor in determining a games quality. Plus, movies and TV shows are typically 24 fps, and we don't complain about that, so 30 is perfectly playable.
1 thing is the face Animations for me, but I'm just knit picking.... they've come so far imo from previous games

I've been watching alot of these reation videos.Just loving the open mouthed amazement on peoples faces. I'm excited for it. I have 1000+ hours in Fallout 4 (in and out of VR), and getting on for 2000 hours in Skyrim (in VR and across a few different platforms. ) This game is going to dominate my gaming for many months.
It blows my mind how far the games have come in my life time from a sytem that only played pong to this. Mind blowing!

I haven't gotten to the reaction yet, just wanted to say our water was out yesterday as well. We thankfully keep backup jugs and bottles on hand for storms but the dishes and wash didn't get done, no working toilets, it it amazing how much we take water for granted.

Honestly I think that arch was our first look at what remains of Terra.
Your video is the most enjoyable one because you are genuine. Oblivion did the same for me. I started gaming through Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Oblivion, Skyrim, and the Fallout Series. I can see a modder creating an alien animal as a companion or something for our character. A space dog could not live in an alien planet, they can't put on a space suite. Also the dog would be lunch for those predators, a huge target for all those alien animals.
This is the first time I have been this excited for a video game in too many years. As hyped as I already was when the first gameplay trailer was released a year later, seeing this made me 100x more hyped than ever before. It really is the game I've been waiting for to play since I first started playing games. I look back at Oblivion and Fallout 3, and now seeing this shows how far Bethesda has come to really bring the game they have dreamed to make ever since. I've been analyzing and watching reactions of this deep dive every single day since Sunday. So so happy that you are overwhelmed and hyped!!!
