I love all your Italian-focused content, do make this a regular format every season please! It makes your channel unique, and there's something about the self-respect expressed in the way Italians dress, and the focus on quality and style over quantity and trends that I find really inspiring. And I just love Italy, end of.
I admire how you balance the fashion press with street style, influencers, and brands to give a more complete picture of the trend stories for the season. Grazie mille!
Love your style - I appreciate the combination of relaxed and tailored, and REALLY appreciate the emphasis on slow fashion, shopping your closet, curating high-quality items and reinterpreting them season after season. I am 55 years old and I own items I got in my teens and early twenties (a pair of mocha suede YSL boots with a bronze lizard inset are a favorite of mine - purchased at age 18 on a trip to Florence). I also have a gorgeous black velvet belt with sterling silver embroidery and beads that was my grandmother's, then my mother's, then mine. I love that young people are thrifting and recognizing quality once again and rejecting fast fashion. Keep making videos! You are lovely.
I’m so excited! I bought a green car coat in that shade about 20 years ago on a discount sale. I put it away for a few years-it was clearly not on trend, but I’m super reluctant to ditch a perfectly good coat. Well well! I am on trend and super sustainable! I love these videos. I’ve unsubscribed from lots of people as they seem to just encourage shopping and I have learned too much from you to want to be that ever again. I have a cedar trunk where dearly loved items go if they are good quality but not stylish, but they WERE stylish previously. I’ve pulled out that green coat, a mocha coat, and an oversized wine blazer… all 20 or more years old… so satisfying!!!
I love this idea! Since fashion tends to originate in Europe before moving across the pond, hearing about Italian trends will put those of us in North America ahead of the curve! That way we can hit the 2nd hand market first! 😁
The classic Italian style have broaden to contain some vibrant and bold colors and pieces. I really appreciate that you went over these categories in styling. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come.
Yea for the statement jewelry! I’m still wearing mine in a limited way! Only one big piece at a time! Thanks for venturing elsewhere and giving play to other places and their trends. I especially like the inclusion of streetwear!🥰
Yay for browns! I find (as I get older) that black looks really harsh against my super pale skin, so I've been all about the browns as my staple neutral. Since there are a few remaining "gaps" in my wardrobe, now might be a great time to find those pieces in one of my beloved brown tones, before the trend swings away from it again.
Yes Alyssa, it's true. Brown and blue, also light blue, are often worn together. As for me, I try to adapt this trend to what I already have 🤗 I like hearing you speak Italian, you speak very well, congrats!
OMG! This was WONDERFUL!!! I have always enjoyed the interesting yet classic styling of European design. Please do another video (or tow or three! :-) like this for the coming seasons. Ciao!
I love your style, Alyssa. I am decades older than you but I find we have similar tastes. I am currently bingeing all your blogs and I thank you for your bright engaging personality and up to date commentaries. I am writing from Maine in New England.
Love watching your videos Alyssa! Love especially that I don’t get so much of an urge to buy something new but instead a lot of inspiration. Greetings from Norway 🍁
I love this, please do more! I do like that dramatic, statement aspect of Italian style and it's fun to find ways to mix it in with my own. I wear a lot of blues and can see me adding in dark browns and some greens, too.
Creativity is the key! We are so used to wearing out lovely items one way, cheers to kicking it up! I always appreciate a reminder that you can change up your style with accessories in trendy colors. Love your videos 💚
Thank you so much for the Euro trends not just the style of the clothing but the colors and current accessories. My opinion only sneakers never look polished and only dress down any outfit no matter what you have on, they will always be casual even if they are from a designer brand. I think sneakers look best with athletic or sporty resort daytime wear, otherwise good for running errands and exercise. I know some gals wear them all the time all ages but that is there thing, so was happy to see it is not being showed as much!
Thank you Alyssa. This week I can take the trouser jacket and shirt idea away with me. I have the black tailored trousers but no matching jacket but I do have a black seperate blazer. Mayve a slight different shade but I feel as if the shirt between them will sort out that detail. Thanks again. I love these videos.
I love Justine also! I thrifted a Banana Republic crocheted chocolate brown cardigan with a drawstring at the waist and mother of pearl large buttons!! Also, a Carmel brown leather tote for only $6!!
I spent the last 3 weeks in Italy and I agree with you 80% lol...the reason being the bright green being used as accessories and shoes mainly. I saw lots and lots of that green EVERYWHERE. As a matter of fact, a bright green coat snuck into your video. You were talking about coats, and there was a bright green beauty!
You have to be the luckiest thrift shopper in history, Alyssa! I love the chunky necklace. Great video and I enjoy your discussions of Italian trends. I mean, who doesn’t love Italian style. Also, thanks again for the fun “Shop Your Closet” event yesterday.
Apart from luck (which is also a big part) I believe it's time investment. It takes time to thrift, to go over all sites and price comparison. Thrifting is actually hard work! 😉
Ciao Alyssa! Fun take on the trends. I’m all prepared for fall and winter in LA. This year, I finally came across men’s blazers that are small enough to look adequately oversized on my petite frame (5’2 98lbs) . I will wear them as car coats over a men’s tuxedo shirt, a vest , leather shorts and my Chloe knee high boots. Definitely into wearing bright bold jewel tones. Congratulations on the success of your fashion webinar. As someone who has experienced it, I highly recommend it. Very interactive! So fun to share a passion with other fellow fashionistas. Love getting a glimpse of their closets, their creativity and their personalities. Also helpful to see how to implement an inspiration using what we already own and adapt it to our frame. Bisous!
Love the Italian perspective, please do more😊. I have a red trench style coat that I have had for years, but it makes me feel SO cheerful on dull wet days and I always receive compliments when I wear it😄. I’m pleased to see the cobalt blue too - I’ve had a cobalt blue faux suede moto jacket for a few years, but haven’t worn it during the pandemic. It’s recently been a challenge I’ve set myself to find ways to wear it. I’ve made a few outfits but this trend might offer me more inspo for my bright coats👍🏻. I love your videos and they have given me great ideas to be more creative with my wardrobe.. I attended my first live event on Saturday night and today have used the scarf idea from Julie’s look to brighten an all black outfit. Please keep doing what you’re doing - style is ageless and timeless and doesn’t require spending more money if you use your creativity ☺️
You interpretation of suit was marvelous! I do that all the time since I cannot find suit that suits me because if blazer is good that pants are too small or too big and vice versa. Great video as usual!
I find these discussions about Italian style so interesting. I would also add that Europeans don’t hold on to their clothing for special events. You see people actually wearing the latest styles/ trends just going about their day. In North America, the same merchandise is available in one form or the other but it seems as if people don’t wear their coats/ nice boots just to run errands. Weather conditions undoubtedly play a role here.
Great video! Your research and hard work really resulted in a relatable information packed nugget. Thank you!!! I’ve got to keep my eye out for an oversized coat and a pair a green flats!
Found a gorgeous brown leather handbag at a thrift store last week. It jumped out at me and yes, it was made in Italy. Not so lucky at finding Italian shoes.
yes to an european point of view on trends/fashion! By watching some videos from Asia (Korea/Japan) and french, it is always refreshing to see their take on trends: not the same details are picked up from the runways... When I was young (pre Internet) you could guess which country women or men were from just by looking at the way they dressed. This is way more difficult now, especially for the young people who tend to wear the same clothes all over the world!!!(pity!!!)
Great review of fall trends. Please do more of this type of video. I am able to recreate some of these trends with what I already have ❤️ Since I am half Italian of course I love the perspective 💗
Love this video - I love Italian style, but I seem to always channel it for summer so thank you for giving a fall perspective. I'm trying to reduce buying things period (even secondhand pieces) and this video had me thinking of some beautiful pieces I have in my closet that don't get enough wear like a chocolate brown vintage Escada blazer, but I'll definitely be wearing it now!
Great topic today. I have to temporarily move to the middle part of the country to take care of a relative. I only want to ship boxes of clothes that work with many other items. Now, the tall black leather boots are definitely going. Also taking green purse, bright red sweater, and a nice coat. Thank you so much.
I like this video very much. Our fashion (in Bulgaria) is very much similar to the one you have shown in this video. I have noticed this differences between countries a few years ago. I was looking for some item I have seen in some video, but it was not available in our stores. This is why I try to dress more classic this days. In my country there is also difference between what fashion bloggers/websites are showing and what people wear in the streets. Mostly young people of their early 20s are wearing those international trends.
Love this even though it’s 2021 there are trends there which will be there again this year. Great to see from an Italian lens. (Need one for spring 2023 when I visit Italy 😆)
Thank you Alyssa! Love love love all these interpretations! And especially, your grey suit version. Today was such a crisp and bright sunny fall day, and I did a grey cashmere sweater with a grey tweed blazer, white denim, and a fun scarf.👌 Big hugs Bella! Hope you are enjoying your trip! 🌺💖🍁
Hi from England, Alyssa! Loved the Italian perspective on fall trends. I am wondering if you could incorporate a French one as well? Thank you! Love your videos!!!
Great Video, definitely do this for every season especially since it’s so true to yourself! Loved yesterday’s event , my second one and so fun! As for these trends I am most excited by the browns coming back and finally found my long awaited dream chocolate brown purse!
Yes. 100%. Where do I have to sign? My Spanish self is craving Mediterranean-inspired fashion so anything Italian will get voted and supported always. I loved the detail of letting us know you gave your electric coat away to someone who loves it and you are...STILL HAPPY about it. Let's normalise being comfortable with letting things go. Thanks for you work :D
Ooooh glad to hear about the trend of rich brown tones! I still sometimes think about your beautiful camel/chestnut sweater that you wore with the silk skirt in a previous video. Hopefully I'll stumble upon one in a similar colour. Also; a new city?! that's quite a change, congrats! hope you're thriving! :)
I love it when you do the Italian focus fashion. This was great. I loved the red turtleneck under the blazer, a great hint of color to a beautiful classic look. Thank you! ♥️🙏
Hi Alyssa! I love your videos! I would also add to the accessories part the bucket hats. Prada for example has some models with sequins or made out of nylon materials. Everything else, great video!
Love the Italian style and LOVE LOVE when you share your thrifted finds! Love thrifting!!
I love that you incorporate consideration for slow fashion and sustainable swaps, I also, love your Italian style videos!

Great video Alyssa, these things are really trending right now! ❤️👍

Thank you for the suggestion Linda! xx
I love your Italian inspired videos. Don't get me wrong, I do like French fashion but the Italian style is just more exciting and energetic.
I love this format-Italian focused with street smart trends. Please continue with Spring & Summer as well.
I love this, please do more! I do like that dramatic, statement aspect of Italian style and it's fun to find ways to mix it in with my own. I wear a lot of blues and can see me adding in dark browns and some greens, too.
