I remember seeing this one when it was released. I thought it sounded interesting with the 50+ years ‘whisky’ blended in it to the mix. Funky label on the bottle . I just picked up a Thompson Bros Dalmunach 8 year old in the last week.

Hi Gav ... Since the blend uses Dornoch's very first cask, that's adding some collect-ability to the market price. Plus, so much of the malt has over 50 years of maturation, also drives up perceived value. Add in the fine reputation of the Thompson Bros, along with the scarcity of the tiny batch ... and the price is ... well ... not cheap. I have a bottle myself having won the right to buy it on their website lottery. Kudos to you for reviewing such an interesting bottling.
