Yum! So simple but I can tell they’re the perfect pair with rice! I’m Korean American and have never tried the avocado salad, but can see why it’s related to the Korean flavor profile 😂 it also sounds amazing haha can’t wait to try! Thank you always!!
Avo is my favourite fruit! In Zimbabwe we had an avo tree that was prolific. All we needed to do was just pick whatever we need/want. These recipes you have suggested sound awesome! I am definitely going to give them a try when I am in South Africa in a couple of months!
wow you are from Zimbabwe!?!? so cool to have African viewer! and so envious of your avocado tree!! would love to pick them myself! thanx for your comment!
Oh my gosh, everything looks so delicious!!!! And I like the way you created a variety, and put it all on the tray ---it makes it seem so special!!! And the tray doubles as a placemat, what a great idea!!
My favorite type of sushi are toro and salmon, but finding sashimi grade fish is difficult for me, so I often eat avocado hosomaki instead and it's satisfying enough for me.
I love this channel. I didn't know that Nori should go in the fridge. Does that apply to wakame as well? These avocado recipes are really useful for a keto friendly diet. Will make it for dinner tonight. I love that really cool thing you do with your sleeves before cooking. You have an excellent presentation manner. No waffle and plenty of useful tips.
thanx!! no wakame doesn't need to be refridgerated, its to prevent from becoming moist/stale. it is called Tasuki-gake, a way to roll up the sleeves of Kimono, when cooking or doing other work wearing Kimono, so that the sleeves don't get dirty or get in the way. what do you mean with waffles??
@@taijiskitchen It's an expression. In UK. To say someone "waffles on" means they engage in lots of unnecessary chatter. Your presentation style is to the point, no waffling.
Love this! I also struggle with finding sashimi grade fish so I'll definitely give these a try! (and I actually have all ingredients for once!) Would it be possible to make more videos on marinated sashimi, if that's something you're comfortable with? I can only speak about Europe but I think in general people are expected to finish everything on their plate, especially when visiting others. It's usually seen as a sign of respect and compliment to the cook, and to an extent to everyone involved in the manufacturing process (farmers, etc.). Although a bit difficult if you're visiting grandma and she keeps piling up your plate!! I think these days people are becoming a bit more mindful of the health repercussions and pay a bit more attention to portion sizes, but I think in general, yes, you would be expected to finish up what you're served.
I´m glad this video got to help you!! by marinated Sashimi you mean marinated raw fish? (in Japanese called Zuke, meaning marinate) and about the finishing, since I work in a school in Germany, I am very surprised how much kids leave the food on the plate and give very little attention on the food getting wasted. yes I think you are right about the general tendency aber a lot of people are also unaware about it as well. so I just put it in there, just in case, haha.
@@taijiskitchen That's true, people will always be different. And children in general tend to be pickier about food, but I hope as talks about climate change become more prevalent people will grow more aware. And yes, I meant raw fish! I'm sorry, my Japanese is almost non-existent! 😅
Wow - I am not very fond of either avocado or tuna, but I really want to try these because your recipes have never been bad. Are these your inventions, or family recipes?
that's great to hear, that you like my recipes!! thanks for the comments!! Sashimi is a general recipe for the Japanese who live abroad, the other two are recipe I found in internet and arranged a bit.
Wow your videos are awesome and very little preparation just found your UTube channel today. Love avocados & will be making all of these dishes. I watched 4 other videos of yours starting with the 3-sides yummy. Excited to grocery shop for must of these ingredients I don’t have. May I ask is that sticky rice or just regular white rice? These dishes seem to be healthy without real heavy meats. Thanks for sharing 🥳💗. Back to watching more of your videos!!
hi, thanx for your comment! the rice we eat in Japan is always the sticky rice. I've tried other rice types, but for me (us Japanese) the sticky rice tastes the best. perhaps only b/c we've been eating only this, but still.
@@taijiskitchen Thank you I will make sure to use that rice I’m excited to try all the dishes from the videos I watched. That’s a lot of eating 😂 for me. New subie to your channel. Thanks you again 🥳💗

I have never heard of that, so I had to do some research and it says that avocado seeds contain very little poison, not enough to kill a human, but possibly small animals like cat or mouse. I have not tried it myself yet, so I cannot say anything about the flavor. and at the end of the day, if you are going to like or not, can only you know from eating it yourself. so I would suggest doing a little research yourself and just try it out, but pls under your own responsibility.

My avocados have trouble surviving from kitchen to table because they are delicious.
Garlic smasher= garlic press
Are the Avocado seeds edible.... I've heard you can roast them like chestnuts... is this true??.

What if you put an egg inside the avocado? It's really good

Lol... avocado is nowhere as delicious as toro. Fresh toro has maybe 10,000x more flavor and umami.
Japanese cuisine is repetitive and monotonous. No creativity.
oh, really?!
even this Natto pasta??
