My niece was diagnosed stage 4 for sarcoma in her thigh after her operation last Oct 2023 . She had chemo but on her 5th chemo failed and later her thigh became big even during her 5th radiation the doctors suggested for amputation. Why the need for amputation doc? The cancer spread to her lungs and throat.

Hello Louse, You are not able to be a blood donor if you have had a cancer diagnosis. It is possible to be an organ donor, but your diagnosis may affect what you are able to donate. I hope this helps but please do contact us on the support line if you would like to discuss this further. Tel: 0808 801 0401 Email: supportline@sarcoma.org.uk Best Wishes, Helen, Support line team
