Thank you for sharing your story, my heart feels for you, at the same time my heart aches because my daughter in law was diagnosed with anaplastic sarcoma of the kidney, had left nephrectomy on 3/21, then started on Avaprinitiv , a drug got approved in 2019, a scan showed tumor shrinking after 3 months of use, then she had side effects, low hemoglobin due to bleeding, the dosage of medication was reduced, and tumor size increased, she was back on full dose, again with bleeding and increase intracranial pressure, the medication was stopped and has spinal tap to reduce intracranial pressure, she had been in and out of hospital, the recent scan showed cancer spread to spleen and colon, and the option is becoming limited. They are about the same ages as you both, met at the college, got engaged on 9 /2019, had a small official wedding on 11/20 due to Covid. The expression from her face few days ago looked so uncertain and lonely, in compare to a very positive, cheerful, sweet and kind person she used to be. It is not easy for my son as well, trying to support his wife in a positive way, and more uncertain about how to handle it as days go by. Yes, it is the loneliest cancer.
This story is so heartbreaking, life isn’t fair. Such a beautiful woman. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Praying that you are healing from this and your wife will forever be watching over you!!! May God grant you many blessings. 💜❤️♥️💙🥰😍♥️❤️❤️💜
This is a truly sad situation for this couple. However I have to say this video is both frightening and misleading. There are countless forms of Sarcoma and many sub categories for each. As with all cancers, if diagnosed early, some Sarcomas are very treatable with high survival rates and expectations. I think it was important to state what type of Sarcoma his partner had and at what stage when it was discovered.
Thanks for your feedback, Darrika. Sarah died from osteosarcoma as mentioned in the description. This video was about James and Sarah's story and of course, while not representative of all experiences of sarcoma, sadly, it is all too common.
Thank you for the clarification. My partner was diagnosed with a well differentiated grade 1 Chondrosarcoma on the chest well. The tumour was successfully removed with wide margins in 2018. The surgeon and subsequent Sarcoma specialists were very confident that the probability of the tumour metastasizing or recurring is very rare. I agree that there needs to be far more information regarding Sarcoma's and I feel deeply sorry for this couple. I do feel that for balance, there needs to be positive accounts of what it is to be diagnosed with this cancer, as it will be far less frightening for those individuals and their loved one's living with this illness.
@@sharonjones5070 how is your partner now...? I was diagnosed with the same (differentiated chordoma) in sacrum region during feb 2020 .....after the resection of the tumour they re-diagnosed as epitheloid sarcoma. Had chemo as precaution. Was cancer free for 8 months. Then suddenly in a scan it showed that the cancer has metastasized to lungs and other regions. Iam scared af.......the disease is progressing pretty rapidly...
I have a rare soft tissue sarcoma cancer, I am really hoping I can find someone who also has it. It’s called Fibromyxoid sarcoma. please if you have this cancer it would be nice to have someone to talk to. And if you have this diagnosis recently, don’t panic about not finding it on any cancer page! I found that too!
Hello Mary, My name is Sam and I am one of the Sarcoma UK nurses. Usually if an MRI has been done and sarcoma is suspected then the scan gets discussed in Sarcoma team meeting and the most likely next step is a Tru-cut biopsy. Mary do gives us a ring on the support line if you would like us to talk it all through. 0808 801 0401

when a sarcoma is suspected during an MRI procedure, should it be best to have the sample tissue biopsied?
