I'm so happy to know that Complete Game Victory is appreciated, great song with a great chart, it's good to see you so active in this channel too, I started my DDR Journey Last year and I really love to have great and new content about the game
the “all 17” thing is particularly baffling when SDVX’s team theme songs were allowed to have 17, 18, or 19 for their highest difficulty and that worked great! if you tried to cram ステラ・イミグレーション and 赫焉のヴァルキュリア -Ragnarøk- into the same difficulty, both of them would be terrible! (especially if that one difficulty was 18, which serves the same role in SDVX as 17s in DDR)
I'm glad someone said something about Drive Away's weird bass. I DID NOT like it at all. lol Personally, BREAKING THE FUTURE is currently my favorite song in the game. But Smash getting the top spot is super respectable because that song is crazy good. I love the rhythm. Also glad a Jakazid song got props. I love some Jakazid.
My opinion on the top 3 songs: SMASH- As you said: mixes the old with the new very well Complete Game Victory- Feels like a Renard song. Chromatic Burst- (my personal favorite) Jakazid did this one justice! I love the last drop especially.
I agree with most of this list, except Breaking the Future ESP, which I'd slot in as my personal #1 chart here because I like the variety and gimmicks the most. SMASH is a very valid top choice if you want something more straightforward that fits the song to a 'T'. I'd also slot in Aria above Abrupt Madness because the chart is just more interesting to me. - RE from O4MA's upload: Chromatic Burst ESP is now the record-holder for the largest number of crossovers per second across all DDR releases. Chromatic Burst ESP has ~0.916 crossovers per second, beating Ryoushi no umi no Lindwurm CSP (~0.69s) CRAZY LOVE CSP (~0.69s), PARANOiA ~HADES~ CSP (~0.72s), and Mochi Crunch ESP (~0.74). Mochi Crunch is technically lower since many steps counted as crossovers are double-steps or spins.
Personally, I love gimmick charts. So I would have ranked Aria higher. It's made by the same artist as Lose Your Sense, and sounds pretty similar too. But I think it's slightly better. Just my opinion. But my favorite is definitely Smash.
Agree with your top picks. smash, complete game victory and chromatic burst were my favorites, with smash and chromatic burst feeling the most "complete" if that makes any sense
I disagree with your take on GLOW THE CROWN; I think the vocal chops suit the song well compared to DJ Shimamura's last DDR original (Take Me Higher's chipmunk vocals feel weird in that one), and the song itself has this more emotional charm that makes it stand out from the other BPL songs. But admittedly, I'm also a sucker for a lot of DJ Shimamura, so it looks our tastes differ there. But I 100% agree with everything you said about Rise As One & Drive Away; those two are last of the DDR BPL songs for me. I especially agree with your points on Drive Away; the bass drops feel way too off. Doesn't help that many of Tanukichi songs use that weird, empty bass, & it especially comes out with a song like this. Lightspeed also has a similar problem, but this one definitely sounds more unfinished.

"I'm not sure who would look forward to a chart that's nothing but crossovers" that's me. I'm the crossover guy.
Seconded
Third
Fourth’d!
I love crossovers! But I'm not capable of level 17 yet...

It's always a delight when you upload! Keep it up =)
Danny talkin’ smack on Chromatic Burst’s crossovers like it’s something that I’m gonna hate.
If I ain’t twistin’ it ain’t worth it.
5:22 you know things are getting tough when the autoplay cpu starts messing up
yeah its so hard that even I can PFC it lol
@@paradoxinfinity-y2b chill
1:06 As of the release of DDR WORLD, BREAKING THE FUTURE (Expert) and Rise as One both got bumped up to 18 on both Singles and Doubles
25 years of DDR!

The only thing I don't like about smash are those random hardstyle kicks
Daniel van Eden? The person who charted L'Oiseau Qui Danse? Complaining about gimmicks?

How is "chartist" not a more common term?
I already know smash better be #1 before finishing this video
