I just received my PowerCore III Elite 25600. Bought it specifically to charge up my Microsoft surface pro 7 on the go. Unbelievably fast charging. @Dan Don Just over once! I got it to have a full charge for my phone + airpods + macbook. This was awhile ago though, so I imagine there are probably better options now
Most likely the capacity is reduced because higher output 18650 cells that are inside have to be high drain to push the 60w out of the power delivery port. High drain 18650 cells generally have a reduced capacity over a typical 18650 cell
@@alexsiniov that happens with any power bank. There's always a loss in conversion. And yes, typically between 85-90% of the rated capacity is transferred to the recipient
Anker is almost like Apple, you pay a premium for the name. Still one of the nicest power banks around. I’d love to know how this one holds up long term over the RavPower. I suspect the Anker would last longer and probably has higher quality battery cells.
In testing the Ravpower did 83% of rated capacity even at full 60w power draw. The ravpower also had good thermals (about the same temps as the Anker charging and discharging) even though it has a full plastic casing. My guess is that longevity would be similar. The ravpower has the same length of warranty as the Anker (18 months), but the ravpower can be extended to 30 months total by registering on their website. Even if the ravpower doesn't have the same longevity, at a third the price (or less!) I think it's still the better option.

Have you tested for pass through charging and for charging via solar panel. Pass through charging would let you charge your device using the PowerBank while it charges.
I did a bit of digging as I’m interested in charging this from a solar panel and AnkerDirect have said on their Amazon page that this doesn’t support pass through charging. They also said that you can charge it from an off the shelf solar panel with USB out but it’s not recommended due to the increased charge time. I suppose a best-case scenario would be equivalent to charging it from a standard USB-A port so you’d be looking at at least 18 hours of good sunlight to fully charge it. A bit of a pain for day-to-day but acceptable for bug-out or off the grid use I guess.
