@knuclear200x It's called supporting the effort that Capcom put in for this collection. The fact that these are source ports of the Japanese games (which means cut content are restored) shows us that love and care was taken into account. Online was added too. These are not ROMs like the ones in the Classic & X Collections. Let us enjoy the money worth spent, and you people can emulate games you probably don't own. And you people wonder why Capcom doesn't make new Mega Man games...

And by characters, I meant just Dex, Yai, Mayl, and the Hikaris(Dr Hikari, Mrs Hikari, Lan, and MegaMan)...
If you're gonna praise it for including the JP exclusive event chips, then it should have been noted that the collection EXCLUDES other JP or even international content, like the Shooting Star remake of 1, the Double Team DS version of BN5 , Battle Chip Challenge, Network Transmission, 4.5, Beast Gate, and other content you got from electronic toy accessories and some other side bonus content. It is sadly not a comprehensive collection
These games were not perfect but the battle and overall charm made these great! I was hoping to shut off encounters at times but the mega buster mode during a puzzle sounds like a fair compromise, can't wait and maybe a revival of the series if this sells well?
So thrilled to have these games back. That they did so much to preserve the games as they were but also to add a lot of extra to it. I seriously hope this sells well enough that they decide to go for a Battle Network 7.
@@teddyjones7444 part of me thinks that feels like a given, but I also wonder if those games were so tied to the DS hardware that a Collection would be difficult. Because I feel like there were touchscreen and microphone aspects, am I remembering that correctly?
Am I the only one who was looking at the chip options being used and asking what they were doing? Also, no Program Advances to show off? It showed off the game, and answered a bit of my questions. They went through and had to modify the coding a bit from what I could see to add in the buster MAX feature. Who knows what other lines of code they broke, or what new bugs or exploits they added in at the same time. Love the video. Thanks for the hard work.
They actually patched a lot of bugs and rebalanced some chips for multiplayer. Those same chips are left broken in single player just for fun but they tweaked the properties of some unintended combos for the chips so as not to ruin PvP.
It's definitely worth it especially for someone who didn't play the original, but I myself might have to hold myself back and wait to see if this will go on sales later since I have a bunch of games I haven't play lol 😂
bustermax may make things easier for new and returning players and speedruns, but they prevent you from aquiring SP navi chips (and possibly other things) so my advice is if you know the games well and have been using buster max mode, turn it off when trying to go for SP navi chips or if youre going for full completion
Not even into the video yet (thanks random add) and I can 100% tell you that yes, it is worth it Both for old and new fans It's 10 games (technically 6 if you consider it as 1 version story) Plus a lot of the exclusive stuff that was only available in Japan versions are available for us now
I almost find these reviews funny since they make remarks on aspects of the games that most of us as kids/teens could have cared less about when we played them. Just enjoyed the sheer joy of the games. Anyways, I'm glad I stumbled upon this as I didn't know this existed! I'll gladly run through the first three games again and pick up where I left off on 4 and keep going through the ones I didn't have a chance to play. Such a great collection!
I am a fan of the Megaman X & Legends series. I remember being in high school & classmates of mines playing these via emulator on school PCs. I started the first one up yesterday & I did find the encounter rate annoying, but I also didn't know there was a buster attack that I could constantly use. I was just standing around in between chip selections. I am glad I saw this review!
Would you say better on a lite for this series of MegaMan or OLED? Never had a switch but craving MegaMan battle network and I'd rather get a switch than a Gameboy advance sp and games individually lol!
Im so excited! I don't have a switch but only a 3ds. Bad news first: My 3ds got juice spilled on it and it short circuited and got ruined 😢 It still works a little bit but the colors are all weird now and super dark and the pixels are all grainy. Now the good news: Anyways I was going to buy a used 3ds but realized that I could buy a brand new switch lite and a game for less than it would cost for a used 3ds. So I am ordering a switch lite and the battle network legacy collection for my first game. I just finished playing through MMBN5 for the DS and it was awesome. But I've been dying to revisit MMBN3 from my youth. Its been 20 years since I played that game and I'm so looking forward to it. Plus I've never played number 1 or 6 so these games are going to keep me busy for hours considering the massive post games.
Played this a lot as a kid on my Gameboy SP. But, I wasn't really into the regular Megaman or Pokemon. I think this could be a good addition to my switch to bring back some nostalgia
Hi Felix. Do you know if translations were also touched up on? Ie Flame Man and not Flam Man. Or if the Boktai event in BN4 was also included and not just the chip?
I love how it was brought up about too many random battles and they really didn’t add anything to combat it except indirectly using the MAX buster mode to speed up the battles. Really wish there was a skip random battles toggle.
Love BN4/5 out of the collection the most. Anyone know a good way to the FootBomb section of BattleNetwork4? The good thing about playing it on an emulator is save states, since you can just immediately revert to a previous save state, which would come in handy in that FootBomb section of that game. It’s frustrating, I am stuck in that part.
Just wanna know, did they fix mmbn 4, bc those are broken, the blue moon's woodman scenario will break your save file while red sun's roll soul will break your pvp opponent's heart and mind
What about the multi-player trading? I remember that battle network 3 had 2 versions, and that some chips were exclusive to one or the other. How does this collection address that?
The collection has chips from the GameCube game in it, least I'm sure that's were the Bass chip is from anyway, it's the same art and description. So I wouldn't worry about it.
Getting myself hyped up for this game due to the nostalgia trip but a lot of real life budget allocations are getting in the way. Will binge watch reviews in the meantime. Well done Felix, keep it up
They have have the megaman battle network vol 1 collection. It has battle network 1-3. Its 39.99. By the time i beat them ill have enough to buy the rest of the bundle if i wanna play em.
This is one of my favorite games when I was a kid and I'm excited to get to play it again because the cartridge that I had you couldn't save so I had to play through the game without ever losing or it would send me back to the very beginning.
This is the 5th review I saw that wasted the +10 chip. Just a fun fact to the comment section, you’re supposed to have the chip you want powered up first ,then +10 not the other way around. You’re just wasting a chip at that point. Other than that small gripe that’s been getting me ( Sorry for the rant) really great review!
From others I heard they kept most of the translation and grammatical errors. Names like Spoutman was changed back to Aquaman, but we’re stuck with Eraseman and Japanman. We’re finally getting the Boktai stuff so that’s getting translated, but I heard there was a translation error in that too.
There's a disclaimer when you boot up the game saying that "content found in these games were product of their time, as certain practices are not acceptable today" something along those lines. And...BN4 is left untouched. Grammars and all. Leg's go, Lan!
This was the first ever video game I owned when I was a little kid. My first console was a Gameboy. I think my first core memory was opening it and playing this lol. Makes me feel old to see this getting released again. I'm just looking at this video, to see if I should buy it because I definitely didn't know how to play video games that much when I was 5 😅.
I'm considering playing Battle Network 2 first, but I wanna see what everyone else's opinion is. Like, should I play it in order, starting from 1? do I play 4 or skip it? stuff like that.
I think the general consensus is: Skip 1, and only play 4 the first time through (the reason why it's hated is you have to play essentially the same game 3 time in order to unlock everything.)
Seems Capcom doesn't like releasing physical versions of their collections in Europe. We'll have to settle for American or Japanese physical copies for our switch.

@@crankymessiah1477 The battlenetwork games has a tv cartoon that shares the same story concept I believe
Favorite series of all time since the 2000s
So thrilled to have these games back. That they did so much to preserve the games as they were but also to add a lot of extra to it.
I seriously hope this sells well enough that they decide to go for a Battle Network 7.
I think it would probably be more likely they will do a similar collection but for the Starforce games. Since those are directly tied to MMBN.
@@teddyjones7444 part of me thinks that feels like a given, but I also wonder if those games were so tied to the DS hardware that a Collection would be difficult. Because I feel like there were touchscreen and microphone aspects, am I remembering that correctly?
But also, why not both? After all, we got both an X Legacy Collection and Mega Man 11…
I grew up on Battle Network 4 and I'm so excited to play the rest of them!!!!!
4 for some reason was the best selling game in the series
Why did you wait 20 years then?
@knuclear200x who me? Because I'm 21 and only had a GBA cartridge of BN4 that I played in my DS lite lol
@@joshsimpson8588 when I was your age, I played them all for free because they were readily available. And they still are, right now
@@joshsimpson8588 pay no mind to the little emulation troll, they can’t let people enjoy nice things. Superiority complex
I played these when I was a kid. So much nostalgia in the battle legacy network saga.
When I get the game. I'm gonna start off with Blue Moon and then Team Colonel and Protoman. Now we need the Legends Legacy Collection.
It's definitely worth it especially for someone who didn't play the original, but I myself might have to hold myself back and wait to see if this will go on sales later since I have a bunch of games I haven't play lol 😂
The question is in this collection, does mmbn 5 have bass and sol cross and does mmbn 6 have the Falza/Gregar giga chip and boktai hakushaku quest?
8:57 Painful to watch
PET means Perfectly Executed Throw. if you know, you know.
bustermax may make things easier for new and returning players and speedruns, but they prevent you from aquiring SP navi chips (and possibly other things) so my advice is if you know the games well and have been using buster max mode, turn it off when trying to go for SP navi chips or if youre going for full completion
It’s music will tell you it’d definitely worth it
Not even into the video yet (thanks random add) and I can 100% tell you that yes, it is worth it
Both for old and new fans
It's 10 games (technically 6 if you consider it as 1 version story)
Plus a lot of the exclusive stuff that was only available in Japan versions are available for us now
I almost find these reviews funny since they make remarks on aspects of the games that most of us as kids/teens could have cared less about when we played them. Just enjoyed the sheer joy of the games. Anyways, I'm glad I stumbled upon this as I didn't know this existed! I'll gladly run through the first three games again and pick up where I left off on 4 and keep going through the ones I didn't have a chance to play. Such a great collection!
This blows so hard again... What is with capcom not releasing physical copies in EUR?
Im getting my copy for the PS 4 and im looking forward to the drop date tomorrow.
Which volume should I buy both or just one of the two
Really hope they do Megaman Starforce also
This game was pre ordered as soon as it was available for me. 👏
Buy it, support it.
It's fun.
Do you have to have the screen small with that weird "every retro game is small and has a weird border" thing going on?
Lol its how game itself 😂
What does it mean when it says you can only download the special battle chips once
I played all of these as a kid and I already pre-ordered both collections. I can't wait to rock and roll these games again
Both collections? Aren’t all the 6 games in one game? I have the legacy collection
@@pokepicker1833 the physical comes with both volumes as digital are seperated
Would you say better on a lite for this series of MegaMan or OLED? Never had a switch but craving MegaMan battle network and I'd rather get a switch than a Gameboy advance sp and games individually lol!
Im so excited! I don't have a switch but only a 3ds. Bad news first: My 3ds got juice spilled on it and it short circuited and got ruined 😢
It still works a little bit but the colors are all weird now and super dark and the pixels are all grainy.
Now the good news:
Anyways I was going to buy a used 3ds but realized that I could buy a brand new switch lite and a game for less than it would cost for a used 3ds.
Some names were tweaked and others were left the same from what I've heard. Also, I've heard a lot of the spelling mistakes still exist.
This series is amazing! It also has a lot of replay value. Highly recommend
ye the gba games on steam deck are great, didnt have to spend $60 like an idiot either xD

Does anyone know if the game will be all on cart. Or will we have to download the half the games?
Is all of the content on the game card?
Which one do you think will run better online the switch or ps4 version?
is there any secrets too the games? or tips tricks etc. or rare chips or all power up locations?
Is it out yet? I dun see it in stores yet
Is there a speed up option like VBA emulator?
This is one of my favorite games when I was a kid and I'm excited to get to play it again because the cartridge that I had you couldn't save so I had to play through the game without ever losing or it would send me back to the very beginning.
The smoothing filters in all of these re releases of old games makes me want to vomit. We're here for the pixels!
I actually quite like smoothing work
This is my childhood game that I never got to finish playing because I couldn’t save my progress in my gameboy advance sp 😢
I'm curious if they've been able to fix up all the translation and grammar issues that were in the original games?
From others I heard they kept most of the translation and grammatical errors. Names like Spoutman was changed back to Aquaman, but we’re stuck with Eraseman and Japanman. We’re finally getting the Boktai stuff so that’s getting translated, but I heard there was a translation error in that too.
There's a disclaimer when you boot up the game saying that "content found in these games were product of their time, as certain practices are not acceptable today" something along those lines. And...BN4 is left untouched. Grammars and all. Leg's go, Lan!
@@genmuzero808ify oh gosh, "Leg's go, Lan" is still there? Can't wait for KNIJohn to have another existential crisis lol
@Jay R Yup lol. What a nice young man she was!
One of my favorite games when i was a child, alr finished all the 6 titles, but definitely will pick it up for my switch
What do you guys think of those borders around the screen?
60 bucks is too damn expensive for essentially roms. And this series is my childhood. I'll wait for a sale.
You know what would be great? A Megaman Battle Network Movie
I like how even in a futuristic world, the "netfricans" still live in mudhuts, and ride camels.
Thanks for this fellas. I went ahead and picked it up and started playing it last night. It’s fun!
I'm considering playing Battle Network 2 first, but I wanna see what everyone else's opinion is. Like, should I play it in order, starting from 1? do I play 4 or skip it? stuff like that.
I think the general consensus is:
Skip 1, and only play 4 the first time through (the reason why it's hated is you have to play essentially the same game 3 time in order to unlock everything.)
The random encounter rate is worse than Mt Moon in Pokémon with Zubats.
I want the physical game so bad! But I can’t find it in the Netherlands, or is it not released yet? I thought it came out yesterday.
Seems Capcom doesn't like releasing physical versions of their collections in Europe. We'll have to settle for American or Japanese physical copies for our switch.
That max mega buster feature seems real handy for some grinding sessions
We need a Mega Man Legends collection next!
