Yeah the call center is an absolute joke. Other help areas with ebay allows them to make a decision and act human. The bad part is knowing where these places are. Or being able to escalate a conversation to a real person who can make a real decision. This is a difficult process to find people who can offer real solutions. Ebay can be very difficult to navigate. At the same time I have reported a seller who sells bootleg music CDs and ebay has done nothing about them.

Nothing is more frustrating and being singled out with a vero and seeing other people selling things in the same way. I loved being able to sell used perfumes on eBay, I got a few veros for them after awhile and I still see people sell them every day on the website. Its almost like eBay is restricting some sellers but not everyone and I really think that lack of consistency on their platform will eventually be their undoing.

I sell a lot of movies and some are exploitation from the 70’s and most they have no problem with, but then randomly with some you get on and it’s gone. I think they need to fix their listing tool so if they don’t want it there it won’t make it past the listing stage. It gets so many in trouble when they see the item they want to sell listed so they don’t think maybe it should not be.

Thanks for the session. I'm new to selling on Ebay. I have been dinged several times. First for exercise weights, then using the word ivory by saying the item is not ivory. Posted a spoon from a hotel in Cuba it got removed. Now I'm dinged everytime I turn-around. Customer service is no help. Got dinged on a necklace a few days ago. It's the same necklace that someone else listed, but they removed mine. I sweat a little everything time I list now. Good to know that I'm not the only one. AI is not a tool in my books. I will comply because there are of lots of things to sell. Thanks again.

I don’t know why this showed up on my RUclips, but I do like watching these kinds of videos. There’s a gentleman who is quite popular on here that sells military buttons, military looking buttons, who puts up videos of how he’s gotten banned in taking down over these buttons. The thing that scares me about what y’all are going through is I have so many things to sell. It’s not even funny. I have I’m not gonna say inherited, but my mother has been put in a long-term facility and I had to empty out her house, which is a whole Nother story where I am stuck with finishing but I got all the good stuff. I want a platform for selling these items, but I’m afraid of two things getting banned and getting scammed. I watch another gal that sells solely on eBay and does very very well. If she has anything negative to say about it, you’re not hearing it. I have watched videos where people sent an item but the person said they did not get it or that it was broken and they want their money back and you have no choice but to give them their money back. Why would anybody take that chance?

Thank you for watching and commenting. There are scammers and platform issues but at the end of the day returns are less than 1% of our total sales and scammers less than that. There are risks with everything but it does work for us. Many people would prefer to not deal with the headaches and that is also OK. Estate companies and auction services can help move qty of low value items from estates if you are struggling to proceed. Best wishes.

I’ve been selling on eBay for 14 years with no issues until recently. Now I’m scared to list anything. Glad I’m not alone. I’m ready to start a Fb group for people to share photos and brands not to list since eBay can’t protect us up front. We are hit after the fact without proper warning. It’s crazy! I talked with a customer service agent and he told me the policy recently changed to include these type is advertisements. I still see of thousands Amos N Andy . I’m hoping it doesn’t lead to a suspension as I make my living on the platform and generally have 2000+ up. Why doesn’t eBay take into account the number of listing vs the violation. Why punish a large seller with only a couple of violations that are clearly not malicious. The number of violations allowed should be a percentage of total listings and not a simple number.

And some skincare by Pixi by Petra that they claimed was a fake even though I bought it at Target. Feels like listing on ebay these days is avoiding mines out in the field(yes, im being dramatic, but im trying to make a point). Daily Refinement always comes to mind with this topic. It's insane the things people are suspended for, yet there are hundreds other listed that aren't suspended. And like you said, everyone is human and you didn't know. I agree that if they hit me with something I'd just never sell it again. I was selling mostly clothes and dolls and I just purposefully stayed away from selling sneakers and high end brand clothing because of the counterfeit issues. I even had one of my own Coach purses I thought of listing but never did as I was so afraid of getting a counterfeit claim from them. I knew it was real but their computer flags this stuff and it just wasn't worth the hassle to me. I've seen other resellers talk on the their channels that once they give you a suspension you do seemed to be flagged that they're watching you more closely. And their customer service is useless. Agree there! LOL. Can't wait for my necklaces. They're so fabulous!

I recently had a Delta faucet get VeRO’d because I used copyrighted images. My mistake for using stock photos. I was, however able to relist them after I removed the stock photos. The weird one was a Honda trucker hat that didn’t have a brand, but was probably made as a giveaway from a local Honda dealer. I listed it as “unbranded” in the “item specifics”, which as it turns out is a mistake. It was flagged for being counterfeit. So I’ll never again list anything as “unbranded”. Also, I did have a new sealed novelty British Columbia license plate which got flagged, but I was able to relist it after putting this note in the description, “Note: This replica automobile plate is for collectible purposes only and should never be used on your vehicle in place of a real license plate. This plate complies with Ebay's license plate policy”. I never use the terms “bone”, or “ivory” to describe colors. I always use “off-white”, and after hearing your troubles, will add “cream” to that list.

Hey guys I am really enjoying your youtube page. I have been reselling since last August and your page has been a huge help and its nice to hear from you since I am from Michigan too! So The one time acouiple weeks ago I had an ad band was right when I just finished listing it. I got a message saying it was band and I should not try to re list it. That freaked me out considering what was band and I still do not get it. It was a novelty device I picked up at an estate sale that I rememberd as a child in the 1970s. its a plastic bird that rotates up and down into a cup of water and its like a perpetual motion device. Another one was also listed from a different brand. Of course I still do not understand it but just set it asside. But for the life of me do not have a clue why it is band.

Although the ironic thing was there was others that are currently listed on ebay. This has been my complaint as well, ever since I realized what was really going on. Much of what they claim to be counterfeit is actually authentic. And they can't go after counterfeiting foreign manufacturers because they're doing the exact same thing, producing cheaper low end lines and selling seconds in their discount warehouse outlets. It's absurd that they would even think of going after sellers of *used, vintage* merchandise and individual items that are 'out of style' (discontinued, obsolete) and/or of comparatively low value. I finally came to the conclusion that greedy corporations simply won't tolerate *any* competition, and that if not for eBay's full cooperation they would never have gotten away with it because imho they have no real legal standing.

My wife and I sell art, antiques, and collectibles part-time on ebay and other platforms, including Chairsh. We submitted for listing on Chairish, a small oil painting by a known artist. It's a scene with a young girl holding a bunch of colorful balloons. In the painting, which is set in Central Park in NYC, she's about 25 feet away, holding her balloons, walking away on a path through a sunny, open part of the park. Above the trees ahead of the girl, the tops of the buildings lining that side of the park can be seen. The whole picture is cheerful, colorful, and innocent. The painting would look great, and be perfectly appropriate, in a child or baby's bedroom or playroom. Now, listings to Chairish must be reviewed by a curator for approval, which we thought would be no problem. Surprise. The painting was refused because it depicted a child. Simply because there is a child in the picture. No other reason. That left us feeling a little creepy, like we did something wrong. It's just a girl holding some balloons! An antique wooden high chair with rush seat dating from the mid to late 1800s was also refused because it was made for use by a child. The price and the description all indicated the chair was for addition to a collection, not for a 21st century toddler to actually sit in at the dinner table. Very strange. We don't know if Chairish had some legal issue with a listing containing something about kids, or Chairish's legal team is just a bit over-zealous, but we don't even try to list anything now on Chairish that might even remotely pertain to children.

The part that makes me angry is ebay clearly states the company needs to reply in 5 days to your request. But verbally ebay says they will usually never hear back from them and they won't stand up for us. It's unfair business tactics to take out your competitors by making clearly false claims, and ebay is allowing them to break the law. My best thing was to reply to my "empire state building" item being pulled by sending an email to the company with ebay as cc. I said, the well known manufacturer must have had permission at the time they took the picture and produced it. Several weeks later.... they said that I had won and could relist. Maybe it was across the board to the others hit by them, and not my email... but i was ready to shut down my store and move platforms.

Our days of reselling are probably quite numbered. Best to stick to subject items (dog mug, cat pyjamas, Chinese Foo Dog statue, etc), stay away from Patagonia, Versace, Calvin Klein, any of the big designers. They have crawlers that go through entire platforms to look for their items in order to send up a red flag to the host who will then pull the item and punish the seller.

It's not necessarily an AI that's reporting your products. Every listing has a "Report This Item" link above the Ebay Item Number, on the right just above the description block (on a laptop, not sure where it is on a mobile device, but it's probably there somewhere). So, anyone can report your item for any reason. Could be a competitor, could be a troll, could be an mentally ill person who has nothing better to do than doom scroll on Ebay looking to ruin someone's day.
