- In Star Trek: Discovery's series finale episode, "Life, Itself," trapped inside a mysterious alien portal that defies familiar rules of time, space, and gravity, Captain Burnham must fight Moll - and the environment itself - in order to locate the Progenitors’ technology and secure it for the Federation. Meanwhile, Book puts himself in harm’s way to help Burnham survive and Rayner leads the U.S.S. Discovery in an epic winner-takes-all battle against Breen forces.
Star Trek: Discovery Seasons 1-4 are streaming exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., the UK, Canada, Switzerland, South Korea, Latin America, Germany, France, Italy, Australia and Austria. @@TheTaurus104 They did decent. Calypso is the epilogue was a sweet touch. Sometimes they get the fans. I was wrong and they kind of gloss over the logic but proper landing. The worker bees erasing the Dash-A was a nice touch.
I know he's going to make an entire RUclips video about it but here's the spoilers. The entire episode is nonstop "But wait....what?", "So how did they?", "But they literally just said".
It's a complete 100% contradiction and the entire episode doesn't even make any sense....by any suspending disbelief.
I'm glad this show is over. Finally.
Hopfully a better and honored End as Enterprise 2005.

Objectively Jamie, why do you consider it “too good”? To me it’s dark, dystopian, makes little sense story-telling wise. I’m a gay man from an ethnic minority background, as much as I like diversity and representation, the show is stressful to watch and not the escapism I want from the once optimistic and uplifting Star Trek.
@@ah7910 No more dark than the regular big bads in past Trek... I absolutely love the show, because I don't like it for a single reason alone, but many reasons. What got me in Trek over 20 years ago was the technological advancement, etc. presented in the universe. Then as I got older it also included the diversity, post-scarcity, etc. aspects.
I don't see how it makes little sense story-telling wise... the story has been more than easy to follow in every season.

I openly miss the b story component of Star Trek but since they’re running lean production wise this is what we got, I can’t complain.
It came five seasons too late. Dark, dystopian, no relation to previous tone or aesthetic. I’m a gay man from an ethnic minority background, as much as I like diversity and representation, this show was badly-written and utter garbage.

I’d like to think I’m objective sand not a “hater”. I’m a gay man from the ethnic minority background so I’m grateful for the diversity and representation… However, Discovery is badly written garbage. It’s dark, dystopian and depressing. Frankly, it’s been a stressful five seasons to watch.
@@ah7910 Me personally I just head on over to the original shows (even including Enterprise) or classic sci-fi like the Alien or Terminator franchises if I want diversity and smart writing

If it wasn't for Star Trek Strange New Worlds, this show would have killed the whole Star Trek franchise.

Why should we be grateful to Discovery for Strange New Worlds? Discovery wasn’t pulling in the fans, so they stuck Pike and Spock in it to bump up ratings, then decided to give us yet another prequel… which is ultimately a visual reboot and has little relation to the prime timeline we all miss. I’m a gay man, from an ethnic minority background - as grateful for diversity and representation - Discovery is badly written garbage.

As a gay guy from a ethnic minority background, Star Trek has given me the escapism I needed, uplifted me and made me optimistic about the future. Discovery however has just given me migraines.

I know! This season has been ridiculously dull. They baited us again with a bit of nostalgia… a TNG episode premise that has so much potential to explore - but I’m certain the finale will not delivery - because that’s what Discovery does, it leads us on and disappoints. Ultimately, it’s not written by Star Trek fans and that has always been the mandate from the top. I despise it.

I hope the Section 31 movie is a huge success so they follow it up with at least one standalone Discovery movie on Paramount Plus. At the very least we should get some kind of standalone adventure movie for Detmer and Owo. If the writers and producers had known before they started making Season 5 that this would be the final season, I have to believe they wouldn't have done those two great characters dirty by writing them off of the ship about halfway through the season. They should've both been series regulars at least from Season 3 onward.
Or maybe Detmer at least could be added to the cast of Starfleet Academy as an extremely unorthodox flight instructor.
