- Being a new police officer in town, Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg) is getting frustrated with the mundanity in the city, so when he sees someone shoplifting in the local grocery store he goes all out to catch the suspect.
FILM SYNOPSIS:
Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg) is a big-city cop who can't be stopped - but he's making everyone else on the force look bad. When he is reassigned to a small, quiet town, he struggles with this new, seemingly idyllic world and his bumbling partner (Nick Frost). Their dull existence is interrupted by several grisly and suspicious accidents, and the crime-fighting duo turn up the heat and hand out high-octane, car-chasing, gun-fighting big-city justice in this hilarious hit critics are calling "Outrageous! At 7:28 you can see the shaun of the dead dvd in the basket but it's changed to say zombies party. And Simon peggs face is covered in the dvd which is clever. Quite a funny easter egg

I've heard he was actually just supposed to struggle to climb the fences and that would be the gag, but the actor tripped, and fell through the fence for real, and they just kept it.
@@kettch777As good as that sounds, I tend to think that the fence broke a little too easily and perfectly. I hope I’m wrong though as I prefer your version.
@@ozzie1299 they do the same fence gag in both Shaun of the dead and in worlds end but instead of it just breaking Simon Pegg jumps on it and it falls over, I'm guessing that's what was supposed to happen here but him breaking through like that is definitely funnier. Pretty sure kettch is right
You can even hear laughter in the background if you listen carefully, which I assume is the film crew!
@@MrRailden I don't think so. There's behind-the-scenes footage you can find that shows after he falls over the side of the fence he's a bit disoriented about where he's going next, and the crew who are right by the camera just can't contain their laughter.
At 5:06 you see nick frost eat the last of that ice cream cone and then it's back in his hand lol

Been on holiday in UK this year, and went the city were they recorded the movie, Wells in Somerset. Fun to see multiple recognizable locations from the city center (even the Greggs shop, which is still in the same location haha)

@@henrikmonkee i think the issue is more corporate greed. why bother making complex films with well written characters, plot points and messages when you can make as just as much money by doing the bare minimum. Its not the 'woke' generation that are causing films to be shit, its companies sacrificing creativity for profit. Thats why theres so many psuedo-woke remakes where you take a prexisting film, change nothing about it and just make the main actor an ethnic minority - its not to appease genZ, its so they dont have to bother with actually writing new films.
