      OH MY GOD. I knew the foreshadowing is insane in this move, but jeez, I never caught that one on dozens of viewings. Thank you.

      Also, speaking of foreshadowing: every single vital point - and some of the minor ones - of this film is foreshadowed.
      Except the guns that justifies the giant shoot out at the end. How did they end up in Sanford? *shrugs* "Found 'em."

      That would be my guess

  • @falconwind00

    Mr Webley is a fitting name!
    The Webley Revolver was the standard issue sidearm for the United Kingdom and throughout the British Commonwealth during the Boer War, WW1, WW2, Korea, and saw police service abroad up to the 1970’s. Originally chambered in .455 Webley, and later .38 S&W. The Webley Self-Extracting Revolver is so-called because opening the top-break mechanism operates the spring loaded extractor, automatically ejecting the spent casings from the cylinder.

      I like his style of shooting all the boring bits with quick cuts like an action movie, just adds a whole level of comedy on top of what would be a boring scene of filing paperwork or doing the line ups which keeps the movie grounded too. It's pure genius filmmaking.

    I don't know what gives me more anxiety. Him whacking the sea mine or the fact that he's whacking it with the butt of a shotgun that could go off by doing that.

    • @TheTdw2000
      @TheTdw2000 2 месяца назад

      Most firearms can't go off unless the trigger is actually physically pulled. The idea of a gun going off because it's dropped or hit hard enough is (mostly) a Hollywood thing.

    • @matthederplawman3327
      @matthederplawman3327 2 месяца назад +2

      Thankfully its rather unlikely it would go off by hitting the base of the sea mine. The supposed spikes act as pressure plates which naval ships would hit as they sail through the minefield detonating the mines and destroying the vessel. The early iterations of mines were never really intended for anti-infantry use. That being said just because it shouldn't go off doesn't meant it can't and whacking unexploded ordinance still poses a danger.

    5:07 Earlier in the film, Nicolas tells Danny that "traffic collision" means it might not have been an accident, so Danny is hinting his mother's death wasn't an accident with the new term he's learned. That's cool.

    • @alfredhadesworth9253
      @alfredhadesworth9253 29 дней назад

      I always thought that it was more like, it showed us why Danny calls it a traffic accident, because he didn't want to think of anyone at fault for his mother's death, all at least his mother.
