The best joke in the movie is even the kids run in the shop and then the lady immediately reacts like she got shot. As if more than one kid in the shop is her weakness 😂
The reason why this film is so amazing and stands out as the best of the trilogy is that there's always something new to spot and pick up on every time you watch it.
literally yesterday I picked up on a new joke and I've seen the movie about a dozen times; at the church fete Skinner is running Splat The Rat which we hear at the same time Tim Messenger is telling Leslie the value of her land. Very soon after the 'rat' gets splatted
It took me about 15 watches to realise the foreshadowing we get for the police chief being evil. He literally has his black cloak hanging up in his office on full display😂
Jim Broadbent’s casting as Frank is quite clever in itself, he was known for playing the bent copper Roy Slater in Only fools and horses, it’s a tip off to there being a darker side to his character
I love it when Tim Messenger calls angel angle and then later when angel picks up the phone he is so used to people calling him angle he says goes to say angle and then says angel so he says “angl-angel speaking “
This film is stupidly well written. I didn’t get it the first time, but by the second time I noticed so much clever foreshadowing and setup & payoff. I’ll probably notice more things the next time I watch it.
I always thought it was ironic and maybe a bit insightful that the old lady would call angel a fascist when she is literally using a gun made by fascists.
Not necessarily. The distinction between the sister and brother could mean Aunty Jackie isn't related to the brother, only a stepbrother perhaps. Maybe Aunty Jackie's father and his mother married and had the sister.
1:38 Bill Bailey's character here is reading an Iain Banks book. His twin "nobody tells me nuttin'" later on in the movie is reading an Iain M. Banks book.
One of the tightest scripts in the history of cinema.
I notice something new on every rewatch. Never gets old.
tight! tight! tight! YEAH!

"you've got a moustache.."
"I know!"
might be my favourite lines of the movie.

Yeah I was actually pretty worried Angel told them to swarm her even though she’s holding a gun.
Can't break rules in Middle England
No, that's because they grabbed her from behind.

This is the best Simon Pegg movie EVER!!!
idk. I'm quite partial to Paul.
I still like the quote "Spent his whole life devoted to the refridgerator and was killed by an oven". Brill movie
this is one of my favorite movies to rewatch
Absolutely brilliant film. Something new to see and laugh about every time you view it.

2:18 that cut was so smooth I almost thought it was a cut from the movie lol
the things you can miss in this movie could make a whole other movie

i thought it was the sten gun?
@@swatboy763 it is a mp-34 that was manufactured and used by the ss during the early stages of WW2.
@@daylight39 ngl I thought it was the mp 3008, which would be even more fitting.

I thought it was a sten too. It would have been better to make it something immediately recognizable, luke an MP40.
I don't care about Baby Driver. This is Wright's best one. Better if you know classic action films though I suppose
Glad the farmers mum with the gun was in there... so funny

we need more men like Nicolas Angel everywhere in the world.
And they tend to disappear first. Good cops don't last long in corrupt towns.
I remember first time I watched this I was like "SLATER" 😂😂
It's not a comedy, it's a hard hitting fly on the wall documentary about policing in Somerset.

You're welcome :)
Swan and Slash are also two words on the crossword
Can someone please explain 7:50. What happened to the rifle-lady when the students entered the store?
there's a sign at the door that says "no more than one schoolchild at any time". she cant handle it
They went up there and pulled her back, presumably knocked her out or tied her up, but the end result is neutralization
Tbf I like the idea that all the noise from the buzzer when all the school children enter is so terrifying that it knocks her out or something
"The Andes" were a couple of massive tw-ts. The writing was so funny, we still warmed to them.
