    I made fried tilapia for supper on Friday. The family pack was on sale, so we splurged. I seasoned my flour with Old Bay. I served it with fried potatoes and coleslaw. My guys loved it.

    I can relate with the 'brick wall' and going through it now. My house is on the market and I'm struggling to sell it. I'm struggling to afford it with my current job paying meager wages and pray to obtain new employment asap with better wages. Prayers to you and your friend. I'm trying to just do the Next Best Thing.

    • @rachaelsupadventures
      @rachaelsupadventures 10 месяцев назад +1

      My uncle is going through the same thing kind of. He has been trying to sell to move away to a safer city/town. His house is the lowest comparable on the market but due to the interest rate being so high no one can afford it! Because he owns it outright he has made the decision to just leave it locked up on the market and just move. Do you have an unused bedroom or basement that you could turn into possible extra income? Can you go to a foodbank or pantry to help supplement your food budget therefore freeing up some money for your house payments? Do you have friends or family looking for a place so you can combine efforts, live together so both families can save and pull ahead? Have you considered trading houses with someone. If you are looking to downsize into something smaller maybe you can find someone with a smaller house that is starting their family and needs something bigger and you can swap house payments. I will add you to my prayers. So many people are going through similar trials right now with the cost of housing and inflation on everything! Remember you are not alone!

    Also, I am wondering how you maintain the seasoning on your cast iron pan? I feel like the people in all the other RUclips tutorials have lost their heads, doing ridiculous things like cleaning it with only salt and then discarding huge amounts of salt. I cannot find traditional knowledge on how to maintain a cast iron pan, at least not from what I've been searching.

      I got a kit and directions with my Lodge pan. It came with a plastic scraper and a bristle brush that resembles the brushes men used years ago to apply the soap to their face to shave and a spray can of cooking oil. You use hot water and scrape out then use the brush to remove whatever is left rinse. Wipe with paper towel spray with the oil wipe again and you are done. I think the oil is canola.
