      For anyone watching hoping to become pregnant, it is suggested that you start take prenatal vitamins about 3 months before you hope to become pregnant. This makes sure your body is in the healthiest condition for your baby to attach to your uterus and have a healthy start to life. There are some deficiencies that prevent attachment.
      It is also suggested your man take a good all around vitamin for men. This makes sure he is producing the healthiest sperm to conceive a baby.
      We all want a healthy baby, vitamins are simple way to help ensure this.

    Glad most comments are positive but I’m not sure what it is about this channel that people tend to attack her for random things. She never claimed to be “Little House on the Prairie Snob”. She said she is using RUclips to make money and would live in a bigger house if she could afford it but currently is working towards goals. She cuts back on certain material things to be able to stay home and buy quality foods to feed her family. She makes it work in her own way and people come at her for a Red Bull 🤣

    I was so excited to see a new video up! Love your tip about measuring sticky ingredients, it's genius!!
    Something I thought of when I saw you putting the butter in your shortbread. I have had really tight food budgets over the years, but like you want to use quality ingredients. One summer I grew pumpkins in my garden. I had so many, I tried putting them in everything I could think of. I discovered one day that I could sub out up to 1/2 the butter or oil in most recipes with boiled mashed pumpkin, and it still turned out fine!
    I started out like if my recipe called for one cup of butter, I'd put in 3/4 cup butter, and 1/4 mashed pumpkin. Eventually I kept decreasing the butter, & increasing the pumpkin, until I started noticing a texture change and had to stop. It's been a game changer for me!!

    Current economy? I am considerably older than you (57), and let me tell you there is ALWAYS something going on in the economy. I recall the inflationary period in the late 70s-early 80s when interest rates hit 20% for the purchase of a home. It was brief, about 2 weeks only, but interest rates of 14-15% was pretty much average. I remember gas lines during the OPEC embargo. I recall gasoline being $1.79 when I got my drivers license, and that is equivelent to about $6 in today's dollars. My point is that this is all just life. Obviously, having a large family with a stay at home parent is important to you, so this lifestyle you have cultivated is here to stay. Besides, cooking real food in our own homes with quality ingredients is always best. This is not a criticism, just a kindly-meant observation.

      cost of living has skyrocketed beyond what a lot of us can afford while our wages stay stagnant. CEOs rake in billions while the people who live below the poverty line starve. we have grocery items that have increased 50%-100% to rake in more profit. these are hard times for EVERYONE. these are unique circumstances that are crippling generations of people. back in, you could rent for only a 4th of your income. now, many of us are lucky to spend half of our income on rent. for profit renting along with corporations buying up housing, for profit healthcare and insurance becoming more and more expensive while leaving us broke, etc. these are unique circumstances that seem almost insurmountable.

    I don't understand how you have a " small budget" If you buy things like organic products, whole wheat, and olive oil? I'm low income too and have a family of 6 and it's a struggle to keep my grocery bill at $170 a week. How much do you spend.? Is there something I'm missing?

    • @TheProductiveHomemaker
      @TheProductiveHomemaker  5 месяцев назад +9

      I spend between $600-700 a month on groceries currently. Purchasing in bulk helps tremendously with buying better ingredients. We also forgo having many options in order to purchase better quality ☺️

      I feel like her budget is average for a family of 6. I'm low income and my budget is $375/month for 5 people for just food. I do have another $75/month for nonfood items such as medicine, soap, deodorant, toilet paper, ect.

      @eileenroberts - I always stock up on butter, eggs, etc at the holidays when they have them on sale. Butter freezes well and will keep for at least 6 months. At Thanksgiving and Christmas the grocery stores will sell a pound of butter for around $2.00. That's compared to about $6.00 a pound in my area. I hope that helps you a little :)

    Keep on doing what you are doing! It helps more than you know! I’ll never understand those taking time to post negativity. Praying for you and your growing family! I’ve used so many of your tips! Side note, I also found a vertical candle like yours at Salvation Army and scooped it up. We lose power a lot and this will be super helpful but didn’t know such a thing existed until seeing it on your channel. We also camp as a cheap way vacation and I cook via candlelight at night sometimes so it’ll help there too! Where do you happen to get your bulk salt?

    Great video!! I have been loving your videos, because us too are on an extreme budget as well. But I would love if you could share some of the measurements that you use (approx). I understand you are using a method for cooking (as I do as well), but I would love to know how much of something so I can try to recreate it. As I'm on a tight budget I am not able to pay for a memebership, etc, to find out recipes. :). Thank you. Keep on sharing. Love how calming your videos are.
