    Hello John. I loved this video. It brought back so many memories. I always liked the Egremont and the Leasowe on the Secombe route. I like the way these ferries pulled back on one rope at the bow and likewise a pull back rope at the stern which were always wound around the bollard to give out a certain amount of rope, until the change off tide when the length may have to be altered. And then finished off a swing rope at the stern. Great to see a new (at the time ) diesel Rae tug. And to see the new Pilot boat was fantastic. Then we have the Cunard boat up ijn the Sloyne, which she often did overnight, and come to the stage the next day. An excellent video. All the very best, Spoolbox
