2021 Suzuki Swace POV Review

- Hello guys, welcome back to Car Obsession, and welcome to another POV review. This time it's all about the new Suzuki Swace, the second car to be produced under the collaboration with fellow Japanese car giant Toyota.
Powered by a 1.8 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and an electric motor, the Swace offers hybrid performance in a comfortable and practical bodyshape. It comes with a choice of two trim levels; SZ-T and SZ5. It's the latter that appears in this video, offering goodies such as LED headlights, 16" alloys, keyless entry, 8" touchscreen, DAB radio, Bluetooth, smartphone connectivity, front and rear parking sensors, reversing camera, heated front seats, wireless phone charging, plus much more.
As well as being comfortable and well-equipped, the Swace is frugal too, as it can offer up to 64.2mpg on a combined run, and it emits 99g/km of CO2. The Swace also offers an EV mode where the car can be driven on electric power alone but only for a short burst.
Prices start from £27,499 for the SZ-T and £29,299 for the SZ5, although the model tested is £29,899 due to the White Pearl paintwork.

Just got one on the Motability scheme and its my 3rd Suzuki I have owned, thinks its great car and already getting 58mpg after having it 4 days would recommend, not a badge snob, its a great car for getting my wheel chair in and out of the boot due to the nice level floor. would get an other, brilliant review btw, thanks

I'm glad you gave commentary as I don't like pov vids that have no commentary as it's too boring.
It depends on the car. If it's a sports/performance car, then I will speak less so viewers can just enjoy the ride, but it's something a bit more...humdrum then I think talking is kinda essential to keep engagement.
What is this car like on the motorway/ravelling at motorway speeds fully loaded?
Never drove it fully loaded so I can't comment I'm afraid.
For name in another video I heard that it's 1st station wagon of Suzuki so maybe SW.Ace.. also there is a point after sw so I think this could be another possibility ..
Hi Celil, thanks for watching. In the UK it's called Swace with no point after the SW so not sure if that theory would work out but I like your thinking.
Sounds like a car I would buy used, they seem to be dropping fast on Autotrader.

Is this car worth it for long trips?
By the way is it suitable for rural areas does it consume a lot of fuel?
Hi there, thanks for watching, and thanks for the comment. It's a comfortable car, so I reckon you could do long trips in it. In regard to rural areas, how rural are we speaking??? It's decent on fuel thanks to its mild hybrid system.
@@CarObsession Its not a mild hybrid, its a Full Hybrid. Uses the very well engineered P510 Transaxel straight out of the Corolla and New face lifted CHR. Very good car, not many people know about it yet but its esentially an Excel corolla touring sports for 9k less.

Interested to know if Suzuki owners are disappointed if people think it’s a Toyota?
Its a Toyota in almost every way.. another front and badge..and they do them both in England on the same line..
I think Swace is SW ace as in Sport wagon Ace what dose anyone else think / Ace has the highest value in a deck of cards.

I agree. 60 FPS is way better for POVs.
Regarding its name: Swift Ace, maybe?
I may experiment with 30FPS, but one thing is for certain, I won't be using 24, going forward.
@@CarObsession I see. Personally, I prefer 60 FPS, as it feels more natural. However, I've heard that there are situations where 30 FPS may be better.
@@thearousedeunuch Technically, 24FPS is the more natural look, but it doesn't lend itself too well for POV as the camera is mounted on your head, therefore, it's always moving.
The name comes from Station Wagon ACE🤣

What is a fun car ?..all in legal speed of course..one o wobbler all over the way? Or if you take of the hands off the steering wheel and it run in the ditch? A boring car is a good car that do what you want..
It's a car that has engagement, involvement and makes you feel happy as a driver, but it's a subjective matter of course.
It's like the Citroen, but not as good looking.

Hi Tomasz, thanks for watching, and thanks for the feedback. If it's a performance/sports car I would limit the talking, but seeing as this is a rather humdrum hybrid estate, I imagine the majority of viewers would be bored if there was no speaking.
