Nice video Erik! Thank you for quoting my words, I feel honored😊 And yes, the S80 is a really nice camera with many features to play with. The design is very elegant and the slider highlights this. Another forgotten cheap but good camera. Thanks for this reminder 😉
Welcome back my friend! This brick produces lovely images, it’s beyond me why it’s a forgotten camera, this is what people should look for instead of a SD1000.
@@MrAndreCoutinho Thank you! It’s good to be back. Yeah it feels overshadowed by that one and other Ixuses. It’s sharp and classy. 🤵🏼No RAW though…but it’s fine with me. 😁
Canon har alltid hög lägstanivå! 😁 Sedan är jag som sagt ett fan av deras menyer och rent allmänt deras layout på knappar och vred. Kul att någon känner igen Villis, hehe.
Really cool looking camera! The sliding cover is a very nice feature - and it has the benefit of not scratching the lens. On my S100 the lens is scratched up by dirt caught under the lens cover blades, because they are too close to the glass.
Yeah, the sliding lens covers are definitely convenient and have that cool retro vibe, but I do worry they might break easily. If only the piano black finish was metal instead of plastic, it would have been a real knockout, haha!
Yeah I think it holds up pretty well today. Resolution wise it's just enough, hehe. I've mostly used it in proper daylight so can't really say much about the DR, but it gives really clean images and is quite snappy in operation.
@@ccderik I am just back from Italy and took the PowerShot s70. Was very impressed with it, a bit slow but it made me slow down. I must try the s80 as I love the build of these cameras.

@@yesteryearcameras thanks for the inspiration to investigate the S80! 😁

Speaking of the SD1000, I just saw one listed with a starting price of $150-yikes.
Trevligt att se dig igen. Fina bilder från Vilhelmina. Har haft några canon ccd kameror tidigare och varit väldigt nöjd med dem.

@@LetsMakeGhosts The S70 looks great in that gunmetal finish by the way. 😁
Looks awesome👍🏼
Just bought this cam online yesterday for $35, can't wait.
That's a good deal! I've noticed in the last year that people tend to put exaggerated starting prices on these units.
@@ccderik yeah, especially the canon s90, s95, s100, s110 they're so called g7x dupe lol
@@asei2177 I see, well I'm sure they are solid, but their design is very generic. 😁
