Long ago (1980s), being poor medical students, we used to use an old but strong door to do this. My gym partners would even sit on top for extra weight. For added security we put a small bench just in case and would get in and out with ease. The partner would slide in the bench and slide it out. Excellent home exercise.
Oh my this what did was in high school and had no money, and made weights out of concrete. But now I got a used parabody vertical leg press for $100, and It goes with me everywhere, never selling it.
Simple and functional, that's great. The only issue I see is: wouldn't it be better with some kind of safety break or stopper? Especially for when you lift heavy. In fact, how do you lift that thing to put you under and how do you get out safely. I don't think those elastic bands would do the job, maybe some chains would, but they need a really sturdy anchor point, especially for heavy lifts.
There would another extra pair of strong ropes - a bit longer than the pairs shouldering the load- attached to the system, which will prevent the load from complete collapse and hence any injury.
That's awesome, great job! I'd do this myself if I had something to bolt the hinges to. Do you trust the straps or would you upgrade to a chain instead?
Kirk H I didn't want to lock out my knees because I had a knee injury before. But I certainly burned the muscles, the constant tension on quads, slow reps... Try and see.
Here we go again. Full rep doesnt mean that you always have to go knee-to-the-chest. You need to know your mobility. If your body says that's all you can go before tearing a tendon, then that's it. Lying on leg pressing like this will lift your hips way off the ground if your mobility is not good especially when the apparatus motion curve is like this. Work around what you can instead of pushing the limits. This guy is doing great. Keep it up.

You’re a genius bro! Thanks so much.
Thank you my brother!
I'd be interested to see how you get into and out of it.

Oldschool. Nice machine.
Perfect machine. Nothing extra. Excellent.
Kent Baldwin Yes, simple but very functional!
You could raise the anchor point to the ground,
in the cold too. that shit is inspiring.
Truly genius
Thank you
Now thats what u call a genius
Thanks man!
Great idea Im so glad I found this video!! :D
Dude! Why didnt I think about this before! I was calculating material costs from other videos ive seen when the answer was just so simple!
Yeah man! Very simple and functional!

Exactly what I was thinking, now we need to figure out a stopper

Это жёстко, это сильно, это круто

Hercules tomb...old name for leg press very nice
Tony Montana Thank you!
@@markonynvidiabrus you from Croatia?
Tony Montana No, from Serbia
Simple et efficace !

This is the way Hercules trained.
If you have more than 1500.00 to spend in an used one. Go ahead! But this is awesome! haha
Que ingenioso bro!!
How do you get up then?
2 years on and he's still in the same position, pressing away. No way to put it down!
He is great idea I like it
Good idea but it's not doing anything you need a bit more extension of the legs too much weight it looks like 🤷🏼♂️
smart solution
Wow..
Wooooow!!
Perfect machine
Thanks sir
How do you get out of it though?
Easy, just roll on the side and stand up
@@markonynvidiabrus increase the weight to 200 kgs and post a video proof lmao
@@BomberTVx Do you see the straps and rope attached to the board?
This is what Press it to failure means.
Actually its not, it was knee rehab...without lock out and 100% controled movement
Nice
What kind of wood is that?
How do you get into position? And how do you get out of position?
Yeah that was my question too
genius
Can this be good for a bench press variation?
Yes, it might be very good variation for decline bench, or triceps...
Imma just stick to squats. That shit looks scary man
No man, it isnt at all...its very comfortable
You just saved me $1500.00
I am glad to hear that!
Does anyone know if this is actually good for you??
Pony Grey Comfortable, nothing hurts, muscles works, sooo...
Como sair dalí?😅
Não há saída, uma vez que você entra, você trabalha para o resto da sua vida :D :D :D
@@markonynvidiabrus kkkk
How about when u finish! How are u gonna keep the weight up while u stand up
Bilal besto There is strong band holding board with weights
How do you get under it, and lock it when you get out?
You just lie down, the load is in the lower position and you immediately start with the positive part of the movement.
SKETCHY
How to stop the Wooden when you done with exercise
There are strings
How did you get into that?
Ashok Chauhan Easy man, just lie down and set for excersise
Geniooooooo
Okay, where do i even begin...
That's awesome, great job! I'd do this myself if I had something to bolt the hinges to. Do you trust the straps or would you upgrade to a chain instead?
Thank you! Those straps and rope are very strong, but chain is even better solution! 👍🏻
Just one question. How did you attach the barbell to the wooden board?
Kaustoove it is not attached, it just lays on two metal hooks that are screwed into the board. As when the bar stands on rack.
Instructions on how to make?
Team Turbo Speed It’s harder to explain , than to make it. 😁
😎😀
leg pressing is so easy im a small dude and can leg press 400
Okay nice demo. Now do a full rep.
Kirk H I didn't want to lock out my knees because I had a knee injury before. But I certainly burned the muscles, the constant tension on quads, slow reps... Try and see.

Go ahead, it is very simple! 😊
Geniuss!?!
It makes more sense to squat with the barbell. This is ridiculous
Actually this is very different. You are comparing two very different exercises each have a specific purpose.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍👍👍
Not a leg press just a mouse trap for gym rats
Lol troll! Just Squat
