I followed the instructions in the video and on Port Forward my Xbox one was reading it as an OPEN NAT but Bo4 was still saying I was MODERATE then I expanded my Global Port rang from 3074-3074 to 3074-3075 now Bo4 is reading me as OPEN NAT I hope this helps someone

Many thanks, I am with telus Optik, and these instructions worked perfectly with telus. I did notice it does only show Type 2 NAT when I test through PS4 network settings. But when I'm in BO4 network status it does say it is open. So these setting worked perfect , many thank, much appreciated

Nothing was working for me, but I finally got it. I see that we both commented on Driftor's video "How To Open Your NAT in Black Ops 4". FYI, here's my latest comment on that video:
I found my problem! My in-game NAT Type was MODERATE, now it's OPEN. I have an Xfinity cable modem and a Netgear router. The problem was that my Xfinity modem has a built-in router, which I never used. Therefore, I really had 2 routers (my Netgear behind the Xfinity). I tested with the Xfinity router (WiFi). I reserved a static IP address for one PS4. Thanks to John Glasscock, I used 3 ways to get in-game OPEN NAT: (1) forwarded port 3074 to the PS4; (2) disabled port forwarding and put the PS4 in the DMZ; (3) disabled the DMZ and enabled UPnP. When I disabled UPnP, I still had OPEN NAT, which makes no sense to me. Anyway, I enabled "Bridge mode", which made the router disappear from our universe, leaving only the modem (now the router can only be accessed from a PC connected to the modem with a LAN cable). With the Xfinity router "gone", my Netgear router had become the interface to the Internet. In-game NAT Type was MODERATE. I ran the same 3 tests to get OPEN NAT, and I got same results. In the end, I chose only to enable UPnP. I still have a static IP address reserved for the PS4, but it's not necessary for OPEN NAT. As for 2 PS4s, I haven't tested CoD BO4 on two PS4s simultaneously, but I don't think it would work. If CoD BO4 (on PS4) acts like a server that needs to accept unsolicited messages from the Internet (for match making), then there can't be two servers like that (using the same port number 3074) behind one public IP address (if I'm not mistaken).
This is getting frustrating... I've opened the proper ports, set a static IP. I've even tried DMZ. I've triple checked the information is correct and I'm still type 3

BO4 in game network said it was trying to use port 3074 which is the UDP protocol, and as soon I entered 3074 for all the start and end ports, it worked and I got an open NAT type. All these youtube videos have you using some TCP port number, which did not work, but be sure to see what Black Ops 4 is trying to do, maybe it varies per ps4. Also make sure you know your ps4's IP address, you can find it in view connection settings tab, I needed it for my router.

Guys when I do a PlayStation network test it says I have type 2 (moderate) but then when I open bo4 it says strict in bo4 network settings

guys i reset my wifi modum to fabric setting and it worked for me. it went from moderate to open!
as far as it goes to portfowarding with two routers (or more than three for all I care), just make note of the port that you're forwarding to in terms of the --- nevermind, here's what I mean:
First router: port 3074 forward to 192.168.0.5,
Second router: (it's ip being 192.168.0.5 on the WAN interface) port 3074 forward to 192.168.1.x (the ip address of your console and/or pc.)
Just "daisy-chain" the portforwarding to the designated machine that you want to use on the network and it will work.
Note: DMZ or "De-Militarized Zone" server is essentially opening up your designated machine to the entire internet and there are risks that come with that. So I highly suggest to stick with only portforwarding rather than setting up a DMZ server.
With that said, I hope this helps to whomever reads this.

EDIT: Make sure that you're on the same subnet (255.255.255.0) for all machines on the network, otherwise you will not be able to route the packets to the designated machine at all.
this is ridiculous my NetType was Strict and I adjusted port forward in router settings and now when I login to the game on ps4 it says Nattype OPEN but in the Connection status is still type3 NatType but the game won't connect to CallofDutyServer LOL

Ok I followed everything and I'm on the Xbox one. I did everything that port forward dot com said except in one of the steps it told me to leave the "local port" empty and then click apply, which I did but it told me to not leave it blank, what am I supposed to enter? The 3074?

I want to do this to two Xbox ones because me and my dad try to play together and we get disconnected from loading into the match and it gets really annoying
So I've got a question: I always had lag issues with BO3 until I changed my IP to static, forwarded the correct ports, and I noticed an improvement. Gameplay and K/D shot up and felt like I was playing in actual real time.
However, I have gone through the EXACT same process for BO4 and the lag is FUCKING AWFUL, dying instantly it feels like hell and just want to delete the game. I know its not skill related. So if I have NAT type open, I have forwarded the ports. What the hell else can I do??????
The game is still new. I've noticed the ping is higher in lobbies due to player count and server health. They will get it sorted out, it happens every year. I noticed ping was lower in blackout because that's where all the players are
Shred_Ninja I was kinda in your same boat, however. I set a new static IP and skipped the port forward.. and noticed that my ports were still open. I also removed uPNP. For whatever reason, I was instantly getting better hit detection and not only that but before all this, I was getting connection interrupted errors and kicking me out of every lobby.
Thanks for the replies! It would be nice if the issues were just down to the game being new, but I find that extremely unlikely because I was still having the exact same BO3 issues up until a couple of weeks ago.
I never have these issues with other games e.g. Overwatch, Fortnite, BF, where my ping is always below 20ms and STABLE. However so far in BO4 it is 50ms as a minimum and VERY unstable. No matter what game mode. If I had to guess I think the game is pinging me to a sub-optimal server location and that will never change unless I move house closer to a major city. Not that I am even rural whatsoever.
I will remake a new static IP from scratch reapply DMZ and reforward ports and see if anything was bugged, really want this game to work.

Shred_Ninja reason I ask is because I didn’t have to open ports , they were all open already and when I did actually port forward, it caused problems
I have a gaming router connected to my main one, the router that my internet company gave me to use optic fiber. I'm connected with an ethernet cable from my gaming router (Linksys WRT 32x) to my ps4, but my nat type is always Moderate and sometimes at night it changes in strict and i don't know why. Does Port Forwarding only works for one PS4, just like DMZ or Can you PortForward 2 PS4 at the same time? (We have 2 PS4 at Home)
I use a hotspot and a netgear router I get like 38 ping and around 30-55mbps download speed but I get strict nat type and can’t connect to certain friends unless someone with an open nat type joins or play a game with dedicated servers, kinda sucks.
As soon as I get to the port forward section and type in my PS4's IP it says ''Invalid Data. Internal IP Address is not in LAN!'' What do I do?
The fact it doesn’t auto sort it for you even though it’s a so called triple A game in 2019 shows how garbage it is, literally the only game that has this problem

I used my hotspot for months playing every day. Now it only works when it wants to. More often in the morning.
I had an open NAT while wireless and it was pretty easy. But then I just had to mess around with the virtual server and now it’s strict :(
Man I've been having so much trouble. I have a Netgear Nighthawk c7000 I logged in on comp and followed your older guide for black ops 3 and this one. I entered the port in udp but still have a strict nat type : ( it's been a massive pain playing with friends, well, trying to play with friends.
I've done the 3074 port, enabled universal P&P, and set the dmz. Not happening for me.
Finally got it :D no more headaches. Ended up just resetting and following your other video linked in the description. Luckily we both used genie so it was easier to follow. Keep up the awesome work man!

Hey, great video. Very helpful. Beside 3074 is there another port I can use for BO 4? My son is also a player and I would like to port forward his as well.
Using UpNp allows the ports to be in a way shared between two devices so I recommend using UpNp instead of manual port forwarding if you have more than one console
Hey, I just commented on an older video of yours. They are a great help, but I do still have a quick question:
Is it normal that, even after opening the ports, the ps4 itself still says you have nat type 2? So, CoD tells me I am open, but the ps4 own internet connectiont test tells me i'm on nat 2.
Oh and is there any negative side effect from having the port open, but also putting the device into the dmz? I ask because me and my buddy had both our ps4's in the dmz, but CoD still gave us moderate nat and we got open nat only after manually adding the 3074 port, which is weird. So basically, we both have our ps4s now in the dmz, but with an additional open port. That shouldnt matter, should it?

im using a hitron cgn3 modem and when i made a port it wouldnt let me use the standard 3074 becuase there was a previous rule that used those numbers and kept telling me port overlap... so i deleted the previous one created one following the steps reset both modem and playstation and absolutely nothing changed, can ya help me my man ?
I tried port filtering, enabled upnp, port forwarding, tried everything but I didnt enable dmz tho. I don't want to get security threats. None of them worked. This shit is really starting to piss me off
In my port forwarding sections I have to put in the name, the WAN - Port from and to, the LAN - Port from and to and my IP - Address. What am I going to put in the WAN Port and the LN port?
My Nat Type is open and everything says it’s open EXCEPT black ops 4, which says it’s strict and I can’t join no one. I had to grind dark matter by myself and play all by myself which pisses me off.

I have the same router as you, and 65 mbps/download & 10 mbps/upload.
I followed your steps for my Black Ops 4 PlayStation 4, but I still get an error.
I turned off my modem for 1 minute after applying the settings and made sure that I followed you step by step.
I do have an Open Nat type, but I can't connect online to Black Ops 4, instead I'm given an External IP of 0.255.0.255 in the in game network menu.
I don't have DMZ enabled on anything.
Before my Nat Type was strict, so opening the port worked, but I am still unable to connect online.
I have dsl modem/router combo and then run that through a nighthawk r7000. I had to put the r7000 on the original modem's dmz to get open nat. Anyone know if thatll cause security issues? I figured the r7000 should still be enough security.

Your best bet is connection your ps4 directly into the wall where the internet comes from. You can try connecting a router though but you might get strict nat. It depends on how the dorm has the network set up
