- 💌 Hello!! Happy friday :- ) I'm planning to post this time/day every week for September. We'll see how it goes! So far I enjoy having a schedule and allowing my other tasks to build around that in my work.
With that said, I'm off to bed! Late night today, and it didn't help when Pumkin shoved over the ENTIRE bin of bambi's food, creating the biggest mess I've had to clean in a while. everyone was asleep, so I can't vacuum until tomorrow T_T Also- even though i PROOFED the entire video. why are there 2 areas of little glitches/mistakes i didn't catch! ah.... to be a perfectionist.. .. . .

Noooo! Don't ever hesitate to make lookbooks or similar fashion content because you buy and wear second hand. I'm sick of youtubers that buy cheap fast fashion pieces just to throw them away. Though we might not be able to find identical pieces as you do, you will still inspire lots of people and will also spread the word about buying second hand.
Yup! I don’t mind either type cuz it can be nice to be able to buy that item but I also love thrift types cuz it gives you more of an idea on how to style the items so you can do it with ur own items but similar

Mire Vb Yes! I have never ever bought the same thing a RUclipsr has shown in their video. It's either crazy expensive, unsustainable, or both. Anabelle has a great sense of style and encouraging people to get creative and buy second hand is just a plus. And either way it would be boring if we all looked identical.
Yes! I have cut down my purchases in fashion and i wear the same thing all the time now and i would love to see versatile lookbooks to get inspired

Girl, do your own thing. I'm more impressed by someone who can take the clothing items they already have, and make them feel new, than by someone who constantly buys, buys, buys. Also, that last dress, if you want to mix it up, you can tie the tie in the front 👍
im so so glad you brought up the "thrill of shopping" vs buying what will last! although thrifting is great, its super important to keep in mind that thrift shops originally serve the low income community and so buying only what you will really wear helps a lot!!

If you want to make garments similar to that red gingham dress, I would really recommend starting with a vintage sewing pattern! I'm a relatively beginner sewist, and just finished a 1949 dress with a similar silhouette -- it wasn't that hard to make and even as a beginner the end result is great! I got my 1949 dress pattern (and a 1930s blouse pattern I'm about to start!) from LadyMarlowePatterns on Etsy, who does reproductions of vintage patterns so you don't have to worry about missing pattern pieces or accidentally destroying an original pattern

Hi Annabelle, personally would love to see some of your lookbooks and outfits for each season, especially since you don't buy fast fashion I think it would be great seeing how you rewear each piece throughout the year for example. I've stopped buying fast fashion 1,5 years ago and every time i find a new piece second hand it makes me cherish it so much more because good clothes are more difficult to find!

One of the things that inspire me the most of you is that you have a very timeless style, it's pretty and very yours, but it's not necessarily "trendy" or "retro" or a certain label. I feel like that's one of the special things about buying second hand, you are not longer bound to fit a "year of fashion" (haha I hope I can explain myself).
Also, Annabelle, I hope you see this, could you please do a basic guide to taking care of your clothes depending on the fabrics? I feel like it would be really helpful! 💕💕💕

the first video i saw i think was when u had long orange hair and the thumbnail had a picture of u in the bright yellow merch sweatshirt and at that time as a highschool freshman who wore mostly what my mother got me it felt like such a radical thing to me but u have had a really profound influence on how i dress because that was when i realised that i would rather look like a fluffy ball of colour than wearing all black and dark colours only like my other classmates. that was when i first understood what self expression means!!! and now i give my mother lots of headaches from my bright colours, oversized fits and fluffy sweaters!!! but i like that i can wear all of it and feel really good about myself!! thank u for extending ur confidence !!!

THAT velvet apron dress is basically the thing that made me want to subscribe to your channel. A couple years ago, now, (wow, it was my last semester of high school I found your channel. I’m a junior in college now.) a cute little video was suggested to me on RUclips. It was your “What I wear in a school week at art uni” video. On one of the days, you put together what I always considered the classic Annabelle outfit, though I think your style is a bit more refined now: that exquisite velvet dress with a black long sleeve underneath, the tall yellow socks with black Mary Janes, and the perfect matching beret. I still love watching that video. I hate the idea that influencers are expected to have new clothes to show off all the time, never repeat an outfit, firstly because, duh, they’re still people, but also because I like seeing the same article of clothing a few times, I always take note. I’ve always thought of my clothing as my armor; I can do literally anything in my favorite outfit. My closet is also a library; I remember where I got everything, from the dresses down to the last sock. I remember what I’ve done in my clothes, where I’ve worn them. My favorite clothes are my favorite clothes because I did all my favorite things while wearing them. It kind of transfers to my favorite RUclipsrs; when they wear something they’ve worn before, I remember others videos they’ve worn it in and the things I liked about that video. For example, the pink sweater vest/shirt you’ve worn in the past couple videos; I remember you wore it when you went to see Shear Madness fro the first time. It was special to me because I also got to see Shear Madness in New York before the off-Broadway production closed.

I also do not buy new clothing, only thrifted or things I have already owned for over 5 years, so I find it very refreshing that you have very similar values to me! So please do more lookbooks, since they are not necessarily for the sake of copying and buying the same item you own, but rather for the sake of seeing your character embodied in the clothing you wear. Your style would be very much out of my comfort zone, so I really just love seeing your style!

What I would say about lookbooks is that they hold their own value in giving people styling inspo and inspiring others to be more creative with their layering and silhouettes! And honestly, what is "hot" (a fad) rn is a mix of different time periods with an emphasis on early 2000's and romantic poofy sleeves - so fashion recycles itself anyways! I think it's better to make content you feel passionate in or creative with, and I'm sure so many of us will love the fashion content :))) (me included ofc) edit to add: I also haven't been buying new, and enjoy thrifting and second hand while keeping things curated and minimal

You make me comfortable in my own skin as well as in and with my clothes. The whole idea of influencers showing off their new clothes can be very damaging for the self esteem of young people and make them question their own situation and backgrounds. I for one, belong to an Indian middle class family and can't afford expensive branded clothes and I never had an issue with it as I get to wear a lot of clothes my mom makes for me, or by professional tailors since we Indians love tailors making us clothes that can be made with cheaper yet more favoured handloom fabrics and with unique designs. And recently there has been a boom in independent online thrift shops on the Indian Instagram section and many of them actually are helping the buyers and sellers engage with sustainable fashion and business practices. And I too bought a really good denim jacket, a pair of dungarees and a sweat shirt, all second hand and pre-loved through these sellers. They came quiet cheap and also makes me feel happy that I didn't buy anything "new". You have inspired me to do that. Because seeing someone like you engage with such sustainable methods help us viewers understand the process and the steps we can take.

The culture of always having new clothes and outfits is not limited to influencers or people on the internet (though I can see how much more pressure there is on them) but also to "regular" people. I have a good 15 outfits that I wear religiously and love with all my heart. Like you, I only add clothing when I need it or I just try to do it more consciously. But because my outfits are "repetitive" I always get comments of "didn't you already wear that?" or "that outfit again?" like... yes? Its so hard not to feel embarrassed or looked down upon when this happens but I'm trying to get more confident at the fact that yes I have worn it before and I will continue to wear it for as long as I can! lol sorry for the rant

When I first saw your sweatshirt with moon and ducks, I felt in love with it.
I even had a dream that I was in a shop and then I saw the exact sweatshirt and I was sooo happy. But it was really high building and it was hanging so high, under ceiling and shop assistent told me, if I want it, I must take a ladder and climb to it. And...I don't know, I probably woke up, so I never get it. 😢😄😄
...But...lately I want to try painting or embroid my clothes, so I'm thinking about make something similar to this. 😄
