thank you for joining journey from the east to west coast for winter break! it makes it a bit less stressful when i can think about the beautiful parts of the day such as the sunset above the clouds.. I got a window seat for my second flight, and the 2 people sitting to the left of me were very pleasant. One woman was visiting SF for 2 days from Chicago, and she is a molecular biologist visiting a friend in SF for the first time. She asked the man sitting between us if he was a SF local (he is) and if he can suggest any great must-see places and also good night life. Turns out that he is an architect who was in Chicago for a free-lance project, and is on his journey home where he works full time for a hotel architecture group. It was also cool to learn that before architecture, he knit for a living! I did not ask them to go into detail about their lives, but even these minute details paint a vivid story and give you a sense that everybody who passes you in your track has their individual stories. It's an obvious fact, but not something I often think about.
Anyway, it's crazy that I ended up packing the morning of my flight ?? really a record for me this time. Well, technically I got all the important stuff weeks ago. I travel so frequently now, I don't even have to think about what I need anymore (or write lists like I used to). Ah... the good days when I was in middle school, so excited for any vacation to where I'd be fully packed a week and a half early. Sadly, my adulting life demands most of my energy to juggling work, school, (and fun, too), and the sheer amount of times I've packed these last 4 years (going back and forth to university) made it just another thing i have to do. I'm pretty impressed with myself though, I haven't forgotten a single thing the last several times i've traveled. I've become extremely fluent to exactly what I need, and where it belongs in my luggage and also how to maneuvering myself (gracefully) through the airports and train stations. As much as I looked forward to reaching Tyler and my family at night, it was a longgg dreadful day through the flights. Flying is my least favorite mode of travel...I practically always travel solo, so there's no one to talk to, and no one to help watch my bags when i gotta pee. So I'm thankful for Away products that helps ease some of the physical toll in the hustle and bustle of running to my connecting flights, boarding, and getting what I need during the flights. I love that I can easily reach for my book, fuzzy socks, or phone charger in my tiny crammed seat- the Everywhere bag's hands down my favorite just because of its thoughtful design.
I got to catch up with my family but quickly left the next morning for a weekend away with tyler. He is flying out in a few days to see his parents for the holidays, so this is our only alone time for many months again. :-) it's okay, I know we have plenty of time in the future, and I am grateful that when he is back another week later, our family together really appreciates his presence and we have a good time as a group together.
We are actually just checked into our first stay and it's so lovely... as soon as I finish this, I will write my subtitles and then can publish the video! I will see you very soon, take care and rest well.

16:18 I think Tyler had aloo baingen- potatoes and aubergines! It's one of my favourite dishes of my mom's! There are like different variations where they prep aubergines in different ways. Like buhrtha - is when they literally char the aubergines on open flames and then use them in the dish, it brings such a different flavour to the whole thing. Choley- or chick peas are a good shout too. They're hard to get wrong haha!
I literally LOL'ed watching the cats play-fighting while you sang a lovely tune. The juxtaposition was perfect. Love watching your departures and arrivals. Flying from coast-to-coast is the hardest, and I'm pretty avoidant of it now. I too recall the younger days when flying was relatively new and the time spent prepping and getting packed way ahead of time was so much greater. Now a pro, but also so last-minute and impressively down-to-the-wire.

Hey Annie! I was wondering if you could do a cat tour of your apt or a day in the life of Bambi/Prairie when you get back to school? Like maybe how your litter box(es) are set up, how feeding time goes, your tips for living with kitties in small spaces and stuff like that. I am contemplating getting an adult/elderly cat with my sister this spring and our apt is not very large.

if there is anyone wondering about the food in the indian restaurant that they went to, so what they ate , the first thing which she referred to as eggplant curry, it a veggie cooked in india and its called "bharata" mind you can be called with different names in different households but mostly it is what it is called
Second thing is called "Chole chawal" basically peas cooked with some curry which is water and spices cooked together
and both these dishes are frequent in indian households henceforth thanks for introducing me to this indian restaurant which will give me a very homely feeling when i come there

annabelle what is your journey with singing? i don’t recall you singing a lot in your past vlogs but your voice is so beautiful !! have you always been singing and have you faced anything that made you hide your voice? i have been singing since kindergarten nonstop and have been silent about it all my life due to fear, how did you get so confident!
i have always loved music, but i've never thought i could sing until barely the last year of high school. growing up, with my sister as the musically talented one (she had really good sense of rhythm and perfect pitch from a ver young age), i sort of got used to the notion that it was her thing. and i was also super shy, and although i sang a lot in the car and in private at home, i was too scared to even in front of my mom 🙈but i really opened up after university, and the only reason i joined choir is because Tyler was very interested and said that i am very welcome to do it with him. I was way too shy so I would've never thought i deserved a place if i wasn't tagging along with him! I feel like this last year in choir has helped me a lot in terms of how to support my voice while singing- but even in this vlog i was SOOO nervous i could barely breathe. like some parts i definitely sound better irl, but it was the best i could get when i knew i was filming myself 😅i am NOTTT confident lol! I was just like screw it, post it anyway because the cats are so cute in the back. If i could change one thing growing up it would definitely be to be more confident about me singing or performing :-) u should!!
