    Dylan against BYU’s entire team

Always competitive with Jacobs and Clinger. So many strong BYU athletes. Ed Eyestone certainly knows how to develop distance runners.

Easy to have a strong team when 80% of your roster is 2-3 years older than the average collegian

@@mr.stepbro6422 I say its more difficult. Some BYU athletes (not all) serve 2 year missions where they DO NOT have an opportunity to train or run competitively. The return to prior mission fitness is a rough one. Remember, other athletes from others schools can do the same thing. I am sure if a college program could find a competitive advantage by not training athletes for a couple years before they started their career collegiately...…all programs would be doing it. LOL...nice try though.

@@Davbaldwin1 I disagree, two years of maturity goes a long way especially for men. And it isnt like they are just sitting around eating potato chips they are doing hard labor and oftentimes eating good meals as the places they go may not have as many fast food options as America. Also colleges can’t sit kids for two or three years unless its for an actual purpose such as religion, and colleges dont undermine the advantage of sitting kids out for a year, thats why there is an option to red shirt which is frequently used.

@@mr.stepbro6422 You bring up some solid points; however, those BYU athletes that happen to serve a mission do not have an opportunity to train or run competitively. Red shirt athletes can continue to train with their team. Also, missionaries rarely eat well. More times than not they return from missions over weight or malnourished depending where they serve; regardless, they are out of running shape. Plus, they have lost two year of their prime running years. They gave them up to serve the Lord. I feel like they don't gain an advantage; however, I will admit they are more mentally mature and goal oriented as a result of a mission. Again, other athletes of other faiths can serve a mission, or join an arm of the armed services or other qualified services. It's not exclusive to BYU. If its such an advantage to hold athletes out for several years other colleges would do the same in mass (I will admit they do this quite often in football) or place a priority on recruiting LDS athletes which I don't think is the case.

BYU is deep ! I wonder what Clinger will have to do to finish on top. It just seems Jacobs is slightly faster . I am a huge fan of Clinger and BYU.

I think Clinger will have to use a Pre type tactic. Bring it hard with about a mile left so Jacob has no legs for a kick at the end of the race. I agree I think Jacobs is slightly faster than Casey. I am thinking this will be Clinger's play at NCAAs. However, Casey may be doubling the 5K and 10K and that's hard to do but if anybody can do it....

sprint [sprint] VERB run at full speed over a short distance.
Run is a better fit than sprint.
      I don't believe 5k constitute a short distance?
      Thank you for the responses.
