From my experience the addon ribbed armour on the 103A and C does more harm than good by making even 90mm HEAT fuse on the ribs and penetrating rather than ricocheting off like on the 103 0 . It also doesn't help that both engines are counted as a single module, meaning if one gets hit, the other magically destroys itself as well. IRL the tank could operate on a single engine, of either type.
Interesting point - whilst it has little purpose in game I believe the ribs were added in order to prevent small arms fire from ricocheting up into view ports and crew optics

Its still awful. It should aim just as smooth as a regular tank, small adjustments are basically impossible making sniping (the thing this is supposed to do) impossible.
This is my favorite tank design next to the cv90 series. Now that it's fixed, its my favorite tank in war thunder. I found using it as a close range ambush tank the be the most fun, like how I use the asu-57. its so low and the exaust points down on the C model that you can hide pretty well in tall grass or on hills. because the C also has a laser rangefinder, Its better at sniping as well. it's an all round good tank as long as you dont find yourself surrounded because, you know...no turret.
Thats pretty fast. So with 25pcs of 103C, the combined rate of fire would become 10 rounds per second. Or perhaps with 3 tanks, you could land a shell in the enemy line each second.
@@ericpilkington6298 the gun is not reloading automatically after each shot, the gunner need always press one of the reload button (HE/AP), so it is no penalty to wait and match the ammo type to the target when the reload time is 2,5 seconds. And ammo rack is 25/20/5, the 5 is for smoke and it needs to be manually loaded in to the mechanism by the rear facing radio/back driver, it is a crank so the operation is quite fast. Imaging how much destruction it could bring in the game with functional aiming and 2,5 second reload time?

The Strv 103 is actually hilariously fun in CQC, despite what most people might think. But you have to really be careful with it, since if you aim an inch too low, your slope can be penned. And if you aim an inch to high, your engine goes bye. Fun though. All that matters in a game like was thunder anymore.
There were plans after retirement to make it into the world first RC tank. Since the tank can be operated by a single person it would be easy to make it remote-controlled. Though since it was the 1990s and we didn't have enough resources it was abandoned. Had we explored the idea today I think it would be highly effective.

It's a great door stop lol. Use it to hold down street. I used it to hold off 3 tanks, one being a cent mk5 AVRE, taking out tracks and guns every 4 seconds. It's also great as a long range sniper if you can find a good spot.
i have sat in one of these and driven it and fired it all at the same time when i joined the army a while back and got into the Armored units in Norway and became what most Norwegian foot soldiers refer to as "black berets" or "Diesel Mink" which also was a nickname we got pretty early on. i was sent over to Sweden with my Squad to test out some of the newer Leopard 2A5's they had gotten because we considered buying them ourselves as well. we got to test it of course, but then i layed eyes on the STRV 103C and i instantly said "i want to drive that" and they let me. i am insanely impressed by how easy it was to drive and how equally easy it was to hit my targets with that thing! how in the world have they not continued using them!? they are literally perfect for Armored Trench Warfare! let the plow in front dig a trench and VOILA, you are suddenly a VERY hard target to kill and can easily shoot back and reload before any enemy vehicles could retaliate effectively! i have been pestering our commanding officers to get some of them, but they wont budge about it sadly...

I play with it all the time and it’s really good, you just need to learn how to play it because it’s really different from other non turret tanks. The best I have done with the tank is that I shot down a plane coming from the sides and I was looking forwards and I timed it and shoot it down like 100m in front of me.
Imo, the Strv 103A is very good at its BR, but the 103C is more balanced, especially in 8.3. Btw, since it has two engines, it would've been awesome to make it so you have to kill both engines before starting to lose battery charge
Fun fact: In Battlefield 4: Final Stand, DICE created a fictional Hover version of the tank, The HT-95 Levkov, its just the same, but with hover capabilities and a movable Cannon.

Yeah, I love this tank, I also love shooting at very far distances since the hydraulic suspension makes your scope vibrate so much that if you shoot your shot will land 40 meters away from where you aimed.
I loved the idea of the S tank before playing this game even and when it was added I was excited to finally use it and see how it would have held up on the battlefields it truly never got to see
My experience with the STRV 103A. In battle at its own rank, very rarely will you be killed from the front. I've literally had a whole team firing at me in Arcade, and only after 7 kills did they finally catch my side and kill me. The 4 second reload SLAPS and wrecks everyone's s**t.
One time I spent a solid 3-4 minutes sitting on a hill being shot at in my 103-0 and only lost my transmission engine and tracks. I lost count of the number hits, definitely somewhere north of 20-30

Can you please add the Lockheed Super Constellation, it was used by the U.S military and others... it would be a amazing addition to the game. The plane is historic and by far the most beautifully designed plane ever built. If you do please be sure to add the cockpit model as no constellation is complete without its amazing interior :)
ALL s-tanks had The bars in front in case of war. It was only in peacetimes they where not mounted. So for us swedes its realy strange to see a strv 103 in combart whit no cagearmor in front.

Hey Gaijin I've been playing Naval recently and it is challenging I'm somewhat getting the hang of blue water ships but coastal is a different story. I was thinking it would be cool if you added a map with rivers that can host both ground vehicles and coastal vessels. Should add some variety.
My grandfather served as a gunner in the 103, he would always say "great tank, but loud as a screaming banshee, why do you think I need hearing aids now!"
Not only my favorite tank along with its variants. But an incredible vehicle in general. I still think even today, it can be of good use in Swedens terrain.
You still have the fire rate, velocity and penetration incorrect in game. The fire rate isn’t 15 shots per minute (4s reload) but closer to 21 (2.8s reload.) The much longer barrel gave it more penetration and velocity compared to other 105mm cannons like on the STRV 102 or Leopard 1. With all the handicaps this vehicle comes with while being at a higher BR compared to other similar 105mm tanks should warrant a buff to those stats in my opinion.

Ive had the Premium Strv 103 for ages now but it only recently got fun to play since they fixed the aiming, and now, IF there isnt any Leo1 HEATFS that will explode and kill all the crew even if the engine should stop it, then the tank is amazing the 4 sec reaload u can ust shoot ur gun to bait and by the times they peak youre already reloaded

Not only does the slat armor on the Strv 103C protect it from HEAT shells, it actually messes with APDS. Whenever I'm facing a 103C in my Chieftain, I really need to hope for a lucky shot otherwise the slat will just bounce the shells.
