Thank you for the useful clip. What kind of screws are inside - need to get the appropriate screwdriver
Viewers warning: The thumbnail showing for this video and the actual part being replaced IN THE VIDEO are two different door switches. 2012 ML 350 switches are different.
Awesome video...only took 40 min from start to finish.
CORRECTION re: @pjsully73 comment. This video is correct. I have a 2008 GL450 as well.
While there are 2 screws, you only need to remove the 1 "forward" screw. The 2nd "rear" screw only holds the wiring harness and bracket in place; it does not help support the window switch unit. The unit is held in place by the forward screw and the 2 tab hooks. Thanks.
Good video I wish you the best with your channel. Lou
Thanks 👍
Thank you for posting this video. I did it and it worked!! 👍🙏
Thank you! I just replaced this part on my GL450 using this video. Ordered the new part and trim pry set via Amazon. $50 and this video and I’m done. Super easy. One note, each of the wire clips requires a small jewelers screwdriver or paper clip to release the connector lock before pulling it out of the socket. In the video, the first disconnect is the tweeter speaker. Didn’t realize until watching the rest of the video how I needed to release the clip before pulling the connector off. I ended up breaking part of the plastic connector. Fortunately I was also to still able to reconnect. The video shows how to do it on the other connections. Also, you’ll need a torx driver.
Do youhave a video out where you replace the harness itself..window switch wiring harness..help plz I'm semi- mechanical
I broke the harness after I replaced the switch
Nice job!
Thanks!
Thank you for take the time to do this!
My pleasure!
Great video! I'm curious what kind of screwdriver was that?
Torx ? What type of driver will we need ?
Great video. I can only speak for a 2008 GL450, but there was two screws (not one) as shown in the video holding the power switch in place (on the backside.).
