Time to move on from Dak, McCarthy and Quinn. What an embarrassment. Such a soft unprepared team once again.
Really? Not time for the jones to sell the team yet? No? Ownership ain't the main issue? OK.
Ownership is the problem. Because the owner is the GM. And that's the problem. We have an oil man that thinks he's a football man. He chooses puppet coaches. And he doesn't know how to build a team. Not a championship team.
We need a younger coach to run this team. Get rid of McCarthy and don't hire Dan Quinn for head coach. Hire the young offensive coordinator from Detroit for head coach. Plane and simple.
Before this year I said it a few times it would be tough to do but…..they should have offloaded dak for picks at the beginning of the year at the height of his value.

The most annoying thing about this game was all the commentators saying how shocked they are by the result. Anyone who has been watching and following this team should already know the story. It’s the same game every single time and I’m sick of it!
Dak has overstayed his welcome. Regular season stats don’t count when you can deliver when it matters the most in the postseason he’s Romo 2.0 but at last Romo slings it downfield instead of check down passes

How tf can anyone still support dak after 9 years of failing in the playoffs? 2-5 playoff record should tell the whole story.
I stopped blaming the players since Romo. Since we're in the same situation today. I honestly could care less to what happens to Prescott at this point but even if we get a new QB without a substantial change in management [which won't happen] we're going to talk about this 9 years from now.
Stats are fun during the season and are fun to use in arguments, but when it comes down to it, do you have the ability to control your nerves and make the same plays in more intense games or is your heart racing all game and it mentally shakes you.
Obviously, coaching has been inconsistent for years, but just from a player standpoint, dak genuinely seems like he can't control his nerves during bigger games, that's something that you naturally have or you don't. The whole team is the problem though ultimately and this is just a small part.

Make some trades for picks and free up some cap. Build this shit from the ground up because the foundation is fucked. I hope Troy is making a call to Jerry so become the GM.

They’re going to extend Dak and keep Mike. Whatever is logical for us they’ll do the opposite. Dak is not the QB that can win in the playoffs and Mike isn’t either. We’ve seen enough to move on

First time I have truly believed we had the "new culture" in place in a very long time. Young team(outside Dak, Oline) Good D, show up most of the time, offense started to click. Then THIS loss to a #7 seed. Blow it UP! That is why this on hurts so much.

Upgrade the LBs- Overshown is coming back and hopefully they build around him
Upgrade the secondary- Outside of Diggs and Bland they need to get better there.
Overall the team needs a rebuild and fast.

We've had some very bad luck. Good teams and good cultures overcome bad luck, so the bad luck is no excuse. However, without that bad luck, maybe we would have lucked into a Super Bowl run. I'd love to see what would have happened in a parallel universe where Trevon Diggs, DeMarvion Overshown, and Leighton Vander Esch don't get injured. Maybe they wouldn't have mattered, but maybe they would.
The 2023 draft turned out to be the "all bust draft." I really thought that Mazi Smith would be better. I always thought Luke Schoonmaker could be a good tight end but wasn't worth a second-round choice for the Cowboys. DeMarvion Overshown looked like a great linebacker in the making. Now, he might become another Cowboys linebacker who suffers and injury and never realizes his potential. If Viliami Fehoko Jr. wasn't ready to play in the NFL, he should have been left for the USFL. We let go of Devin Harper in order to keep Fehoko. Devin Harper wasn't that good, but we needed him more than we needed Fehoko. I'm not that upset about Asim Richards in the fifth round, but we can't expect a fifth-round tackle to contribute much. Trading a future pick to move up for Eric Scott Jr. was just stupid. Deuce Vaughn was a nice story, but he's not going to be a good NFL player. Jalen Brooks may become a good WR4 for the Cowboys or someone else someday. That's fine for a seventh-round choice, but he wasn't a draft steal and can't turn this draft into anything but a complete bust.
If Prescott would take a low enough salary, maybe good management could surround him with a team that he could take to a Super Bowl. If he's not willing to take that low a salary, he's not going to see a Super Bowl.
If they do a reset, then they need to do a major reset. There's no reason to pay Prescott his huge salary in 2024. They should try to trade him. While they're trading, they should trade Zack Martin. He's still good enough to help a team push for the Super Bowl. A trade would give him a chance to win a ring, and a trade would allow the Cowboys to pick up a draft pick. I'd consider trading DeMarcus Lawrence. He's played great, but he won't be playing by the time the Cowboys get good enough to win a Super Bowl. Trading him gives him a chance at a ring and could give the Cowboys another draft pick. I'd turn Micah Parsons back into a linebacker. He could be a very good linebacker even though he wouldn't get the sack numbers that he thinks would make him a defensive MVP. He's young enough that he could still be playing when the Cowboys have a chance again.
Maybe none of this will matter if Jerry Jones still owns the team. Maybe he's just not smart enough to make the right choices and has too much ego to hire people who will make the right choices.
I'm surprised that Troy Aikman would be willing to give up his broadcasting job to be general manager. If he made that offer, I'd accept that offer if I owned the team. At the very least, I'd want his advice on finding a general manager if he wasn't serious about becoming the general manager.
Very true sir. Agree, the CBs need to reset. Just like Jerry did when he bought the team so long ago. If he does that, and if they are lucky and guess right, maybe we will have playoff success in 3-4 years.

I like what you say here…but can’t agree with bringing in Belichick. Hire a young talented coach. Ben Johnson with the Lions OC is a thought. Young coaching working for SF and GB now. Both teams kicked our tails this year. Let Dak play out his contract and do not extend. He’s not worthy of a raise and definitely not a franchise QB. Plenty of talented QBs in this upcoming draft. Defense couldn’t stop a nose bleed…from the very first drive penalty after penalty…GB scored and scored everytime they got the ball. Dallas had a shot when they scored 7 before half and came out and got 3 but again… like a 5 play drive the GB offense scored again and again. So many holes in the zone defense. Why was DQ playing zone in this game when he played man all season??? I know the defense has a tough time against the run the but big plays in the zone was killing them. TE wide f’n open…Dak did give them 14 of the 48 points tho.

Joe I agree with you. Dak missed his safety valves and missed wide open recievers choosing to throw in tight and double coverage. We are screwed with Dak counting towards 60 million in the cap and 58 million with dead money. We're stuck with this guy, I wish we could release him or trade, but he has a no trade Claus. I say goodbye to McCarthy and Quinn for horrible Plat calling. After that defensive performance from Quinn, who the hell would hire him? As long as Jones runs this team, I don't think we win. And green bay quarterback and receivers had done got better sense they played dallas before Green bay came in there got ahead over Dallas and had team that could run Dallas and throw on them and the defense couldn't stop either. And if you watch dallas all the time you should no if a team get ahead over them by 2 touchdowns it usually dont end up good for them

Dak has a $63M cap hit in ‘24 if they let the final year run out. Cowboys will need to extend Dak’s contract to lower the cap hit. Dak has all of the leverage.

I understand your frustration but you missed a major point in the lack of success for the last 28 years. Who’s the common denominator in 28 years? Not Will McClay! He wasn’t VP of player personnel until 2017. It’s Jerry Jones and his insistence in being the GM. Follow the trail. Nobody talks about Troy Aikman’s last five seasons. Very mixed results and a 1998 Wildcard game where the six seeded Cardinals beat the Boys and the Trio would be no more. Incidentally, the first Cowboys pick that year was Ebenezer Ekuban. You see, Jerry Jones has never had success in the salary cap era. An era where the season is won and lost in off season acquisitions. A task that Jerry has never mastered as GM. The list of Jerry’s draft busts is legendary. And his list of free agent choices aren’t much better. But maybe the ultimate demise of the Cowboys lies with the fans who allowed Jerry to take a team worth 238 million in 1995 to a 5 billion dollar team without winning.
