68 reported to the referee before the play. That same ref called the penalty, LATE; after the successful conversion. The referee either had amnesia or suffered a concussion and should have reported to the tent for a head evaluation. The NFL should investigate this matter to prevent fans getting screwed in the pie hole!
The replay of Decker talking to the Referee and Skipper never talking to him shows the Referee screwed up big time and deprived the Lions of a hard fought win. Another of a bunch ridiculously bad calls by officiating crews this year.
Best is the commentator, who sees the replay of the situation and says (paid by the NFL): “Decker never talked to the ref.”
What else was he doing? Having a sniff of the ref's new perfume?

This was the same official crew I saw at the Steelers Jaguar game back in October.. one of the call they made was “offside by the offence on a special teams unit..”

That says it all for the NFL level of officiating this season. A great play and moment of jubilation erased by a stupid penalty.
Campbell explained to the officials pre-game, to the officials that the Lions were gonna put that play in for the 2 pt conversion. Example if your team is gonna do an onside kick to open or the 1st play in the 2nd half, the officials have to be notified pre-game.

Why was 70 running towards the refs if he wasn’t eligible ?
The ref screwed up, but that doesn't means the Lions should have won. The Cowboys were mistakenly told number 70 was eligible, not Decker. Of course Decker got open to make the 2-pt conversion. The Cowboys D knew he was ineligible. They should have replayed it from the 2 yard line. Decker's catch was meaningless, but the Lions should not have been penalized 5 yards for the refs mistake.

It indeed should not have got to that point, the reason this video begins with us at 1st and 25 is because of a terrible tripping penalty where the refs accidentally call it on Dallas instead of the Lions because they likely got confused as both players were wearing white pants.
They went into that "prevent" defense which allowed the Lions to march downfield 10-20 yards at a time. I never was a fan of that.

In the pre-game meeting with the officials Dan Campbell drew out the play to the officials on a board. This meeting is provided to the coaches to explain any “trick plays” that may happen during the game. This was a design play to confuse the defense. There should have been no confusion on the part of the officials.

Dallas got screwed on that BS tripping call. Aiden Hutchinson was the one that stuck his leg out to trip Pollard and they called it on Dallas. So instead of having 2nd & 1 or 2, and needing only one or two yards to kneel the ball and end the game, the refs gave Detroit life on that blown call. I just want to say people need to remember refs are people and people make mistakes not every bad call is "rigging". The main point here is an easy fix is available but the NFL refuses to. The call was 100% wrong, they messed it up, multiple experts have checked the footage, shown how they lined up (which was 100% legal) Decker did indeed check in with the ref, the guy the ref said did check in WASN'T THERE.
