Damo Mitchell drops the 411 on how to Baguazhang correctly, using Chi (yes, I said Chi) 😎😎😎
In the bustling chaos of the modern world, a figure emerged who, unlike the rest of us, seemed to be on an adventure worthy of an interstellar hitchhiker. His name was Damo Mitchell. While most of us were trying to figure out the purpose of life, the universe, and everything (spoiler: it’s 42), young Damo was navigating a rather peculiar blend of childhood joys and profound existential dilemmas. School, predictably, held all the excitement of a Vogon poetry reading, which is to say, none at all.
Instead of languishing in the monotony of educational institutions, Damo found solace and adventure in the labyrinthine world of Asian martial arts. This wasn’t a mere dalliance; it was an obsession. His family, a veritable assembly of martial arts enthusiasts, ensured that Damo was thrown headfirst into the deep end with disciplines like karate. These early experiences were as tumultuous as being stuck on a spaceship with Marvin the Paranoid Android, yet they provided a much-needed structure and discipline.
As Damo grew older, his quest for martial arts mastery transformed into a global odyssey that would have made Ford Prefect proud. Picture him traveling from one remote monastery to another, each encounter with a martial arts master a step further into the surreal. This was not merely about physical prowess; it was a deep dive into the esoteric practices of Taijiquan, Baguazhang, and Daoist alchemy. Imagine seeking the meaning of life, not in a book or a computer, but through the fluid movements of ancient martial arts forms.
Eventually, Damo transitioned from being a mere student of these arts to a teacher. Founding the Lotus Nei Gong International School, he created a haven for those seeking more than just the physical aspects of martial arts. It was like establishing a new sector of the galaxy where weary travelers could find not just refuge, but also profound wisdom. Here, Damo’s teachings combined practical methods, theoretical guidance, and a hefty dose of humor, transforming even the most complex Daoist texts into something resembling a light, entertaining read.
Imagine, if you will, a place where students gathered, much like characters from various corners of the galaxy, seeking enlightenment through the balance of Qi rather than battling intergalactic foes. Damo led them with a blend of insight and humor, guiding them on a path towards personal liberation. His approach was holistic, understanding that true mastery involved the mind, body, and spirit working in harmonious unison.

it is not "air" - true - yet somewhat can inflate the fascia with it. It behaves like air, magnetism and electricity but is not any of those yet involves those...the Chinese word/character of ch'i is the vapor coming off cooked rice so the implication is something like "steam"--something from heat and pressure...his exposition is practical and good though thinking of ch'i as moving in the postures can be a detriment to actually learning and doing them--which then produces the sense of ch'i...I am glad he said "it is not a metaphor" as there has been much confusions about this...
