Representing the West Coast, Sifu Gurinder Singh from Los Angeles, California, USA, Southern Wu stye Taijiquan! Sifu Gurinder is a close student of legendary (Anthony/Tony) Ho Nanjie who among others, was mentored by Pei Tsu Yin, a contemporary of the great Ma Yueliang and a wealthy student/sponsor of Wu Chien Chuan himself, in Shanghai.
Not to be outdone by the West Coast Woo Mafia, representing the East Coast is Sensei Rob Liberti, the founder of Hidou Hammon Ryu and an expert in Aiki, who has dedicated his life to the study of Aiki and hitting really really hard. And throwing hard too! Rob started in Aikido as the second son to Italian parents and later, cut his teeth training extensively with legendary Dan Harden until life lead him to form the Hidou Hammon Ryu, with the formidable Donald Soucy and Jonathan Leonard etc.

My answer to the titular question is: Noppe. 😎
Aiki refers to dealing with the point of contact, and chi refers to the hydraulics of the body and certain internal relationships. One always have both, in various degrees. So vs between these concept is a misnomer.
It was a fun video to watch! It's commendable when someone has no ego about their skill. Hats off to both proponents!

I was being "clickbaity" on the thumbnail and title 🤣🤣🤣 Rob is the expert on Aiki, I have no idea what "they" mean by it.

Chu Shong tin is as far as I remember the only one I saw moving men bigger then him without effort.
The videos with a huge weight gap.betweem the partners and the big guy dominating are not very convincing. See the weight categories in boxing... weight matters a lot...

Yes, weight matters a lot and we are all coloured by our own experience or lack thereof 🤗 I have been lucky enough to meet a few people who have convincingly moved much bigger people with little perceivable stress/strain/exertion. But it is what it is my friend, you may only see a big guy pushing a littler guy around, but I can see a lot more detail about what the big guy is doing which impresses me personally, and the littler guy is no pushover either. So there is that 🤗

@@bewholeyoga I wanna see the big guys moving bigger guys. If I try to move someone who is 20% lighter then me it is quite easy. So,... Can t wait to see those vids!

@@gaelfalezyou would still see the same thing you see now. It's not the size, but the body mechanics. If you don't notice that now, you won't notice it otherwise.

@@gaelfalez unfortunately it is hard to find bigger guys, in my case, but have a look at Adam Mizner in the "Power of Chi" documentary. There are videos of Tony Ho (Ho Nanjie) throwing around the mountain Lee Scheele, who is not an easy man to move, on RUclips.

@@theXaint Im not saying the guy has no skill. I m saying whatever body mechanics you use, they work much more on some one who is 20% lighter than you... Does it work on someone 20% heavier?
