    At 50 years old, I've never driven a motorcycle before. I picked up a used Himalayan a couple months ago, and I'm loving it.

    There is a tip over sensor paul also. To reset engine light.
    1. Push select button for 15 seconds
    2. Turn key into on position while continuing to press select button (at your command center) for 15 seconds.
    3. Engine light should go off after procedure.
    Same procedure if you remove petrol tank.
    I stayed stock. I think the accessories are a interesting detail. Installed front bags for roughly 80 dollars.
    The Navi doesn't get used because of phone apps for navigation. I love the older instrument cluster.
    Your most treasured add on is the Hi-Viz vest. ( and rain gear )
    Oil, filter, plug, and valve adjustment...3 services all driveway work. Bike is to easy to service to pay $160.00 an hour to dealer.
    Your enthusiasm can be heard.
    Stay Safe. Riding the Himalayan daily has become normal here.

    Ive had my heart set on one of these for a while now, but have some things I need to save up for first. Hopefully next year I’ll be able. I’ve watched hundreds of videos of people riding these and most people are smiling after they ride one. As for looks, I’ve always loved them , but a week ago I saw my first real one parked outside a local supermarket. It looked so beautiful! Its a real bike this one!

    Well, bought one in 2023 that year model, it is the Silver one with the brown touring seats. I have only done 400km on it since JUly buy date due to illness, but I do love it. Returning rider from the 80's. I don't need speed, as I live in the bush here in OZ. HAVE only B roads to ride on around here. I bought it mainly for camping with my dog, coming from cycletouring with him for the last 8 years It is perfect for that role.

    I had an instance where the engine management light came on, after it kept stalling on cold start. There is a procedure to reset the warning light, just google it. I can't remember.
    Agree with your comments about it being a great little bike.

    Brother, get the YSS rear shock and fit it yourself, it doubles the suspension functionality, customization and load capacity of the bike. 33'000km and counting

    I'm off to the bike show tomorrow, hoping to see the herds of sheep drooling over the new GS...Personally I am looking forward to seeing the Suzuki V-Strom 800, the new colours for the Gen 3 Hayabusa, and the Kawasaki Ninja 1000 and the Versys Thou...

    The hima 411 bs 4 is better to drive when there is bad weather and wind than the 450.i have both. The 550 has more power and also to heavy to put the hima 450 from the pickel

    Re Tyres - 2 pairs of MT60's with a pair of Avon trail riders in between. I prefer the MT60's as they tolerate the crappy little lanes with grass and detritus down the middle better than the traial riders. IIRC the Mt60's are 50/50 whereas the trailriders are 90/10 road biased.

      @birchwoodbiker I'm currently running a Honda Super Cub, and love the simplicity and quirkiness of the bike. But, I need something to tinker with, to adapt, and to make my own (like you mentioned in your vlog: customise and conquer).

    Wouldn't buy a motorcycle that has an engine management light -- if it runs ok, mpg is ok and it's not blowing out smoke, it's ok.
    Probably why all my bikes are 27 years old or older -----

    I swapped the NC750X for the Himalayan 😊

    • @wokeupandsmellthecoffee214
      @wokeupandsmellthecoffee214 8 месяцев назад +2

      interesting, I swapped a 4 year old BMW F850GS I'd owned from new but it was out of warranty and was getting too heavy for me so I got a straight swap from Honda for a new (October 2023) NC750X manual and I love it and as you'll know the MPG is unbelievably good, i'm getting in excess of 80mpg. Why did you swap for a Himalayan ?

    • @Valeman7689
      @Valeman7689 8 месяцев назад +1

      You're just trying to wind people up. Nobody would do that. Would I be happy to be going slower than everything else on the motorway? Its not as if it does a better mpg than the NC750X, far from it. I just don't get it.

    • @125ZJK

      I just picked up my new NC. I traded my crf1000l which was too heavy for me... I absolutely love it. Tbh I should have got one years ago.

    • @Ainsworth-Rider
      @Ainsworth-Rider 8 месяцев назад +2

      @125-_- I only got rid of mine because I started struggling getting on off. I had always liked the Himalayan, so after nearly 5 years with the NC750X, I traded her in for the Himalayan, and I only miss the NC750X when on A roads and Motorways
      The NC750X is in my opinion the best bike out there

    • @Ainsworth-Rider
      @Ainsworth-Rider 8 месяцев назад

      @Valeman7689 Morning Vale, I did, and I miss it, but I only miss the speed on the Motorways and A roads. But at nearly 72 short legs and hips and thumbs full of arthritis she had to go, and for the same reason, next year, my Himalayan will probably have to go 🙄 thanks for your comment Vale 👍 PS I don't miss the petrol tank under the back seat 😀
