- Mark Starts Over & Fixes His Season 1 Mistakes... | Invincible REBOOT Explained #invincible #comics #shorts In Invincible after wandering around the past for a bit Mark goes back home and keeps the fact that he got his powers secret from his family as Debbie asks Nolan if he defeated the Dragon that was bothering town earlier. At night, Mark flies up into the sky and screams that he wants this Reboot to be over, he wants to go home… but nothing happens even after he says please.. As his anger turns to worry and he flies off feeling powerless. From here, months go by as Mark secretly gets his Hero Costume made, and prevents a bunch of the horrible things that happened in the first season of the TV show like stopping Titan and the Mauler Twins before they really got up to the worst that they did later on, but he also makes sure to stop Sinclair before he ever turns Mark’s friend into a Reanimen, despite the fact that Mark knows Cecil will still hire this guy the first chance he gets. At night, Mark sits by himself thinking that he’s doing the right thing and saving lives… but he can’t get over the life that he left behind to do this.. From here we see Mark helping the Guardians against the Thraxans when they attacked for the first time, and as everyone starts to doubt Mark because they’re starting to get overwhelmed by these aliens, the worst possible thing happens, as Omni Man discovers that Mark has his powers.. And things get.. insane.

That beating changed Omni man and mark for the better. It made Omni man realize what he was doing was horrible. It made mark realize life isn’t what you want it to be and you have to fight to survive.

Back to his old life is the one of the worst choice he ever made, thank god he redeem himself at the end.
He did it mostly because of his daughter and Oliver, because in that reality, he would never exist, and also without him, things could go really wrong and would've ended like Mohawk Invincible. His original reality was probably the best one, despite its flaws.
He loses 5 years when he returns tho
Realistically it’s not marks fault. It’s the creatures who sent him into the past. They are the ones who decided to go messing with time. Surely they could be doing much more good than they choose to

I took this as a representation of how reboots, even the successful ones, don't always end up being better than the original storyline.
There are quite a few reboots/remakes that are better than the original

Mark and Eve have had their baby girl Terra and this absense is one of his longest and also heart breaking returns for him. His little baby girl is now 5-8 years old and when he sees he she asks "are you my Daddy" and he breaks causes of what he missed out on.

Well at this point he knows the multiverse exists, so one of two things happens if he stays here, either
A: His former reality still exists and he just abandoned it and they have to live without him.
Or B: His former reality is being erased and replaced by this one, in which case, staying here just means erasing all of his real friends and family.
Think of it like this, someone suddenly kidnaps you and puts you in another country to fix the countries problems. If you stay you could potentially reduce the death toll because you know things they don't, but you can't go home, would you really stay there?

This was the most pointless bit of the comics, its just a disguised time skip so they don't have to show Terra growing nor they have to think on any subplot in between those five years...
Not only that as they made it look like Mark didn't give a shit about the lives lost, ofc one of the messages they tried to convey throught Mark's story is "being a hero is bullshit" but... that doesn't mean he'd just give up saving everyone tho
That being said thats literally my only issue in the whole story so... Invincible has a pretty solid narrative
