He does the healthy thing of leaving the child in the hands of a guardian he'd be more stable with, even if he made the mistake of abandoning his child. You can tell he learned from how Omni Man treated him as he didn't blame his son for anything or fly away. He stayed there and acknowledged his mistakes as well as assure his son that he would be forgiven and that he hopes he'd do the same.

@@B.I.G.TEA707sorry he kind of abounded his son
He didn’t leave him to be raised by his grandmother at all! He left him to be raised with his adopted father and little sister!!! His grandmother would check on him and keep him from time to time but he had a loving father who cared about him deeply just like his own son! And I think that the stepfather should get more credit than what’s given to him because even with his wife(Anisa) passing in battle, and his daughter and adoptive son both Viltrumites and Marky’s powers manifesting extremely early he still wanted to keep Marky with him instead of letting him leave because he wanted the best for Marky and that was a stable…ish life. But the stepdad literally stepped up because he cared about Marky so much and didn’t want him to leave them and he wanted to take care of and be there for him! While Mark(Invincible) would come by every so often to visit Marky but his adoptive father may have not been his blood but he was his true father! And that’s what brought on the fight between Mark and Marky because Invincible wasn’t there for his son but was always there for his daughter and Marky thinks it’s because the way he was conceived… if you know what I mean😬. But in the end Anissa changed who she was and became a totally different person once she found a real love in her husband and started a real family.
This just reminded me that there were two Viltrumites on Earth still! I forgot about Anissa's daughter with the stepdad! So Markus wasn't totally alone!

Terra turned out all right as an adult. She went out to make a life for herself, avoiding using her birthright to help people throughout the galaxy, even going against the viltrumite empire at times.

Given Markus conception I don’t blame Mark for wanting nothing to do with him.
Kind of makes sense why Mark left him with this mother. Mark probably feels like he is the good man he is today because of her moral support and guidance, and that it would be difficult ok Eve to raise the child of another woman, regardless of the circumstances
The mother/rapist was dead
Its a mix of the step dad asking to leave Marky on earth and Mark having complicated feelings about it understandably so.
Though the confusing part for Marky is that Mark does visit time to time but its not exactly the best visists and Marky has to constantly watch him come and leave back to deep space with the daughter he clearly loved more which can be emotionally fucked for a child like Marky

So he wanted his son to have the life he himself wanted... Plus he couldn't leave his mom alone
Imagine being named Alex and you name your kid Alexis
I always thought it was interesting that, while his daughter was spoiled and obviously a handful as a kid, she grew up to be a pretty well adjusted and empathetic person, whereas his son that technically had the better upbringing and spent his childhood helping others was the one who cracked because there was too much pressure put on him. Goes to show it isn't always black and white.
He was created by Invincible getting graped.

Marks a better man then me because on god i couldn't deal with raising let alone interacting with the son of the woman who RAPED ME that shit is waaaay to much trauma like all the other shit you can fight, punch, kill but that is for some a walking trauma bomb especially with them getting older
Must be one hell of a pack of cigarettes, invincible
This boy was on pair with invicible and even stated He could've killed him, even tho he is that young and invincible was at that point the strongest viltrumite in history, he's gonna be an monster
On par? No he wasn't, Mark just didn't fight back the reason his son said he could've killed him is because he thought he was overpowering Mark when he was not.
At least this Father/Son altercation didnt ent in a pool of blood, comatose and shit tons of emotional turmoil
Some of y'all never met a victim of rape and/or clearly don't know how it is such a violent and traumatic crime, and it affects one's mind.
According to AJOG, among adult women, an estimated 32,101 pregnancies result from rape *each year*. Only 11.7% of these victims received immediate medical attention after the assault, and 47.1% received no medical attention related to the rape. A total 32.4% of these victims did not discover they were pregnant until they had already entered the second trimester; 32.2% opted to keep the infant whereas 50% underwent abortion and 5.9% placed the infant for adoption; an additional 11.8% had spontaneous abortion.
You wouldn't shame the 1 894 women a year who give out their child to adoption, but you're so eager to shame the dude who: 1) did not even know his rapist had his child for many years after the assault; 2) still tried to have some semblance of connection to his son despite the baggage and shell shock trauma it brings with it.
And you know what? You speak like Markus was abandonned all alone by Mark... not only did Markus had his mother AND step dad, Scott Murphy, during his early years, even when he lost his mom and his biological father had to leave the planet to manage a galactic government, he still had his biological grandmother to take care of him. The kid did not grew up in a typical nuclear family with his biological mom and dad, but he still had his family around.
And before anyone purposely misinterpret, YES: Markus' emotions, feeling of shame/guilt, and feeling of abandonment are fucking valid, no argument here. Period. But a lot of y'all are blindsided and act like "Oh yeah, the rape victim is a bad father cause he chose not to raise his kid." Are you dense? You wouldn't shame any women for not raising their child of rape, but act like "It's his kid! The kid's well being should have priority over the rape victim's trauma." Yeah... and you know what? The dude still tried to make time for his kid despite his trauma. It's not a black or white situation. It's far too complex to simplify it the way some of you do.
What I like is that even when the story's done, they still show that Mark is flawed and not everything is peachy
Considering mark and his relationship with his dad seeing what he did to his own son really makes me aggrieved
“I could have killed you.” Yeaaaah, that’s a bit over estimating your strength Marcus
Invincible still loves his son it's just hard to be around somebody who is born like his son was but by no means did invincible leave his son a bad hand he left him with a sweet intelligent grandmother who knows the ins-and-outs of his powers and if something really needed invincible there would be an entire planet of viltrumite there to help and honestly it's probably better that invincibles Son didn't grow up with royalty because invincibles daughter really needs a fucking slap to the face like oh my God she must have been the inspiration for the animated version of Amber like oh my God is invincibles daughter ANNOYING
When mark asked his son if he wanted to stay on earth he said yes. It was his own decision to stay and he blames mark stupid
That is really sad and his son is a really mature and understanding of his dad, because he loved his half sister and never resented her and he dies saving his lil sisters life.
YOOO guess who joined the Anissa hate train 🚂
Prismo.
He can wish that the rape could be altered from the timeline although Mark could still remember it.
"Your wish has been granted bro."
*Marcus angry at his dad for not loving him*
*is aware why his father doesn't love him*
*fights his dad anyway*
*doesn't elaborate*
*leaves*
A long lifespan, sure. But he's going to be an adult through all of that. Marcus is only going to be a child who needs his dad for a very short time. Mark failed Marcus as a father.
Although I do see where you’re coming from you do need to keep in mind that Mark didn’t ask to be a father to him. I think Mark did what he thought was best. You can even see that Marcus turned out a lot like his father due to the life he lived, he’s not perfect but he is a good person, so I think he was raised pretty well on earth.
@@gagebruh193i mean, marcus also didn't ask to be born.
@@zaipollizamabdulmalek5822 I understand but regardless of how people choose to “feel” facts are facts and Mark did not ask to be raped and have a child. Marcus will grow older and he will have to face that how he chooses. No ones lives are perfect and to blame a rape victim for not taking care of a child is just stupid. I’ve heard so many times how supportive people are when a woman is raped and how they shouldn’t have to keep the baby. The same rules apply here. Marcus will still have a loving family, Mark even does more for him than he should have to. So in some ways he does care for Marcus even though he’s a product of rape. I’m not going to continue the conversation. It’s okay if you feel a certain way but regardless that is an opinion. But it’s still marks choice whether he wants to be a part of a forced child’s life. Not yours, or Marcus, or Anissa. None of them can force Mark to do something he never asked for. Have a nice day, take it easy 👋
Poor Markus, a royal prince left out of his own empire because of the acrions of his mother. Its two faced for Mark to claim they have all the time in the world. He missed Markus' formative years, clearly favored and loved more the Child he chose to have and ran away from the child he ended up with. I can understand how he feels but its grimey how he did Marcus and it would make alotta sense if the kid wanted to destroy his father and family in the future.
Honestly while Mark is better than his father he still failed his son. Son's will always seen and need their fathers approval and attention, something Marcus felt he never got. This made me sad but thank god its only a comic and not real.
Yeah but Mark also didn’t ask to be raped either, I think he did the best he could. Plus Marcus did have a dad, whoever Anissa was dating.
@@gagebruh193 so mark should hold the transgression of his sons mother against him? I get what your saying but thats cold and heartless to me. His son didnt ask for any of it, he just wanted his father.
@@SpaceDebris15 he had one, not his biological one but he did. And it’s fine if you feel that way but people are entitled to feel how they want. Personally I didn’t have my biological dad growing up and I’m doing just fine. Mark shouldn’t be held accountable for another’s actions against him just as much as Marcus doesn’t deserve to be hated for it. Mark never hated him, he did what he thought was the best situation. Let’s say that Mark does indeed dislike Marcus, do you think Marcus living with him would’ve been a better environment for him? I think him living on earth was best. I think Mark could’ve explained it better or seen him more often sure, but he’s also a galactic king, so he’s pretty busy.
@@gagebruh193 we both have very clear differences with none existent fathers.
I agree everyone has the right to how they feel, but in my stance, regardless of how any child of mine would be brought in to this world, they are still my child and i wouldn't abandon them.
Mark doesn't seem to dislike his son rather created unnecessary strain on his sons emotional health in favor of the easy answer. That being he is Marks son but he wants nothing to do with him right now. Which again isnt fair, the child is innocent and treating him like he is the cause of the problem because of the circumstances of his birth is heartless and cruel.
@@SpaceDebris15 that’s fine for you to feel that way, I’m not going to keep disagreeing because it’s clear we see it differently, but many would see it differently than you, just keep that in mind that it’s more opinion than fact. Calling him a bad father isn’t really fair in the situation. I would personally take care of my child too but to each their own, take care.
Marks mom is the real Goat.
It was nowhere near like it was with his dad mark actually held back and tried talking his son down whereas nolan used mark to kill innocents and destroy him mentally
True! Mark wasn't fighting back, he was trying to calm his kid down the entire time. Mark at this point is the strongest being in his universe.
The funny thing is that Marcus will probably be the most powerful viltrumite due to Anissa being a pure blood and marcus having the most compatible with pure blood
Marks daughter looks like his mom
A hoe?
She looks like Mark, acts like Eve.
You can separate the level-headed people from the rest by asking whether or not they like Invincible's daughter and see if they recognise how despite her brattiness she managed to grow into a decent person or if they still whine about her being a spoilt kid in her youth where she has still yet to mature.
bro should have thrown anissa in to the sun after the child was born.
Markus thinks Terra is the better one? She’s literally named after dirt 😂

"That boy was beneath you-"
"And beside me, and on top of me, and BEHIND ME!"
WhutTheFuck?
Why tell your dad that?
He left the son on earth so he could learn the same compassion and what it means to be a human and end up just like him.
As a person who had the same type of childhood I will never forgive mark for treating one child as a his own and another as a type of step son or nephew
You mean loving his consensual daughter with the woman he loves better than the son from when he was raped? Who would of thought?
@@haus2514 still his son also just cause the parents had a horrible life and experience doesn't mean the child should have to go throw the same thing
@@haus2514 yeah but mark still isn’t in the right because he lied to him and said he loved him and would be around as his father and just never showed up until the kid was grown like wtf?? At least be honest
@@FlamesUp1602 yea dont get the kids hopes up only for him to wait years for you to finally show up
Expect Marky wasn’t abandoned he was raised by his step dad the one who raised him and pretty much knew all his life as his dad
Finding out Mark as his bio dad doesn’t mean his step dad isn’t his dad
I have a feeling Marky will outbest Mark in the future as Mark will likely be lacking. Dude's got Anissa's gene. Straight up full Viltrumite.
