To prove this point more Oblivion was shown in the new Gods comic series to be basically the other half of the Living Tribunal and likely equal to him.
The problem is that there is no set cannon for the SCP universe, in some stories, the scarlet king is the strongest of the old gods (which consist of beings like Yaldabaoth, Mekhane, and the hanged king) while in others he is able to defeat the high elder gods which are supposed to be the strongest beings in the SCP multiverse.

The SCP foundation is literally a fandom made for fan creations. It's perfect for anyone to just go in and add their own "original characters." It's basically a pre-built world where you can incorporate your own thing to it. Most people go there, because they probably couldn't make up an overpowered character without being like: "OMG MY MADE UP GUY IS SUPER OP!! HE IS LITERALLY GOD AND MADE EVERYTHING INCLUDING ALL OF FICTION!!!!111 HIS BACKSTORY IS SUPER TRAGIC TOO!" Like, every single one of those authors are ridiculously high on their minds.

The Scarlet King’s ability to reach a universe depends on the knowledge that people there have of him. If nobody knows of him (or enough about him) in this universe, then he can’t cross through and end us. However, if I understood correctly, Oblivion doesn’t have such restrictions, so he is probably more powerful.
Here is the problem with this; there's always permanence (in the form of paragons a hard to describe concept) which knows him. Whats also not covered is how scp writers like Djkaktus write gods. Djkaktus writes gods as above inevitability by baseline concepts and scaling them is irrelevant to its eventual outcome despite narrative. Oblivion is exo-multiversal but never truely uncountabley anti-narratival as narrative exists (of the first firmament) so Oblivion is moreso a hyperconcept. SK being an aspect of defiance of "IS" makes him extraconceptual. Restriction is relative

The Scarlet King is always there (exo-narrative), his process of consuming a narrative is not dependent on if something or someone knows it as there is *always* something or someone who knows it outside the narrative. What should be noted is the Scarlet King's consumption of a narrative is only sped up by knowledge of it.
The difference is analogous to Oblivion being all possible endings of all stories while Scarlet King is killing all which makes stories possible. Those in the story or who make the story possible occasionally accidentally see the Scarlet King and thus speed up that process. Subtle difference, but one is clearly a step above the other.

He's one of several in his "pantheon," I guess, and they aren't keen on his behavior. Also, much of his power seems to stem from how collectively aware beings in a given reality are of him. The more who can see him, the more power he can leech, and the more influence he can exert.

Interesting how these beings keep claiming that they can effect the reader. When they can't. As big as they are in their continuity, they are moderately sized fish in a tiny pond. The readers and authors are far beyond them. Think about it. We create realities, multiverses, and all manner of horrors to afflict them. In my own dabbles into stories I have given birth to gods and heroes only to torture and destroy them all for my own amusement. These beings exist as stray thoughts and burst of imagination to us. We are dimensions above them to the point of it being inconceivable. We are the third highest dimension of reality. Above us is the heavenly realm where the angels live. Above them is God. The being who created all things, is technically a reality unto himself, and is beyond even our comprehension. There is a theory that any world we imagine is actually real but is a lower dimension so we can see into it. Thinking about this then we can assume that the SCP multiverse is real. Also because we have seen universes where there are beings that can travel the multiverse, then some must have come to our reality. So one might assume that we should be doomed because some of these beings are NOT friendly. Such as the Lovecraft mythos and the SCP multiverse. The thing is while we can perceive the lower levels of the multiverse it does not work the opposite. We are aware of higher plains of existence but we can't actually perceive them or affect them. That is because we are less than them and so it is with these beings of cosmic entropy. You want to see what would be the most powerful SCP that would body the Scarlet King? Look in the mirror.
Weirdly enough. You're not wrong. Scaling wise it would go to SCP-3812 and the creatures that exist in the other worlds. But you're not wrong about us being above them as they express multiple times that the readers are above even the powers of the authors. So yeah, because the authors are us so thus we can do what they can do but on our greater level cuz we're not restricted. It's honestly really weird. I think even the comics they've done this

@@ORIGINALFBI Oh boy, I have a lot to explain. 1. The first thing to understand is that characters are scaled by feats, not by statements. You have to actually prove a character can do something. You can’t just say they can. 2. Omnipotence in fiction has been debunked. So, omnipotence cannot exist in fiction for two reasons. One is because, logically, no character in fiction is omnipotent because an omnipotent character would not be bound by fiction and TOAA cannot come out of a comic to punch me. Two is because, to prove a character omnipotent, you would have to prove that they can do literally everything imaginable which is not possible. 3. Even if omnipotence were to exist in fiction, it would fall under no limits fallacy. No limits fallacy basically requires that a character must have a story, and, as you probably guessed, it means that you can’t just make a character have unlimited power. It basically stops all of the stupidly overpowered OCs without stories from being included in power-scaling. However, no limits fallacy also makes omnipotence in fiction impossible. 4. If you want more information, watch Project FM’s videos on omnipotence in fiction and no limits fallacy.
Oblivion is more like the Brothers Death than the Scarlet King. Edit: SCP is not bigger in cosmology than marvel though. I see this with a lot of franchises, where the universe with more detailed explanation is stated to be 'bigger' and 'stronger' despite the conclusion of both being the same. Both SCP and Marvel have reached Boundless, True Abstraction levels of existence in terms of cosmology, they just explain it differently, with SCP taking an excessively convoluted route.
Noosphere contains inaccessible cardinals which already greatly surpass uncountable infinities within the multiverses. The Infosphere transcends the Noosphere greatly, arguably more so than Oblivion transcends the other abstracts. That’s not to mention that reaching the Alpha Layer is several layers above that too.

They have no Canon storyline like no beginning or end. Only stories and pieces for you to put together. It's just rather they don't have a Canon beginning or end For example, every scp-001 instance does technically exist and have shown to even cross one another. I hope we see more Overpowered Characters from Non-western - Southeast Asian, Latin American, Afrofurutist, Middle Eastern, Polynesian-inspired and Indigenous Futuristic/Australian Aboriginal Fantasy & Sci-fi stories tbh.
I can answer a baseline for ben 10 cosmology, it has a bare minimum 15 spacial dimensions (based in irl scientific theory not scaling) judging by UAF, and with some stuff from writers, statements by higher dimensional beings appearing, some other stuff too, including a certain fact people ignore but is canon, the Ben cosmology scales roughly too a high complex outerversal construct give or take some stuff from UAF that may make it higher or lower, and with the factor of the ben 10 cosmology is connected to all CN cosmologies at once (thanks a lot uncle grandpa and OkKo for making me have to calc over 400 shows), and if you really want something to think about, the scan function of the omnitrix would work on any other god from lovecraft, the scarlet king, most of DC and marvels cosmological beings including celestials and lucifer, the doctor, and the weaver, ben could very much just be way stronger when including this function.
For real, so many people, especially on TikTok calls their writing absolute garbage because it doesn't have the same capabilities or the same popularity as DC or Marvel or any other property out there

I love your content Chuck, but I just DON'T get the appeal to a verse that, at this point, feels like its Overpowered simply for the sake for. I know it's not that simple, I know there's a lot of hard work and effort put into this, but it's getting to the point that whenever I see an SCP in a vs battle, I almost always know who's going to win. Add on the nature of the 'canonicity' of SCP, and the whole thing just becomes eyeroll worthy. Maybe you should make a video about what the appeal to SCP is, because from my current perspective, it's honestly not a positive one.
There not those are just some of the more famous one that make it to TikTok’s and they only scale you know the more op ones but even still the op ones have some good stories
Most stories are actually well-written, but some people just make scps that are so op they could beat your mom with her belt easily. Some good scps are The Origami Dragon scp, 049, 173, 106, and 343. Some Scp tales have some of the best stories I've ever seen, some are just horrible.
I enjoy a lot of the stories that address the subtle horror of being a mortal in a universe where incomprehensible horrors reside, and you're just a puppet waiting for your strings to be attached. The Trashfire (for which the Scarlet King is one of four major antagonistic forces trying to corrupt humanity through the perpetuation of extremism fascism) and LOLFoundation (a group of deluded reality benders decide to play "SCP researchers" with the rest of humanity as the world falls to ruin) are both good examples of this. Both are very bleak but I enjoy the dark comedy sprinkled throughout. For other recommendation (assuming you're interested) - DJKaktus is fantastic for dense but rewarding high fantasy/alternate history storylines (Ex: SCP-6500, and all of Project Paragon) - I would personally recommend smaller Canons like Mundus Liberari (SCPF is a resistance force trying to end the UN's new "silent extermination" policy against anomalous creatures) or Insect Hell (kind of a "Grey Goo" scenario, where self-replicating locusts consume the world) if you want something less dense/more self-contained -Unhuman ("normal" humans disappear, leaving the world in the hands of the anomalous) and Ninth World (the anomalous is at its most powerful, and everyone's rushing to collect a series of artifacts that will let them "build paradise") are really good if you like urban fantasy/Sci-fi, and When Day Breaks if you like straight-up apocalyptic body horror (the sun goes wrong, and everyone suffers for it).

The problem is that there is no set cannon for the SCP universe, in some stories, the scarlet king is the strongest of the old gods (which consist of beings like Yaldabaoth, Mekhane, and the hanged king) while in others he is able to defeat the high elder gods which are supposed to be the strongest beings in the SCP multiverse.

The SCP foundation is literally a fandom made for fan creations. It's perfect for anyone to just go in and add their own "original characters." It's basically a pre-built world where you can incorporate your own thing to it. Most people go there, because they probably couldn't make up an overpowered character without being like: "OMG MY MADE UP GUY IS SUPER OP!! HE IS LITERALLY GOD AND MADE EVERYTHING INCLUDING ALL OF FICTION!!!!111 HIS BACKSTORY IS SUPER TRAGIC TOO!" Like, every single one of those authors are ridiculously high on their minds.

The Scarlet King’s ability to reach a universe depends on the knowledge that people there have of him. If nobody knows of him (or enough about him) in this universe, then he can’t cross through and end us. However, if I understood correctly, Oblivion doesn’t have such restrictions, so he is probably more powerful.
Here is the problem with this; there's always permanence (in the form of paragons a hard to describe concept) which knows him. Whats also not covered is how scp writers like Djkaktus write gods. Djkaktus writes gods as above inevitability by baseline concepts and scaling them is irrelevant to its eventual outcome despite narrative. Oblivion is exo-multiversal but never truely uncountabley anti-narratival as narrative exists (of the first firmament) so Oblivion is moreso a hyperconcept. SK being an aspect of defiance of "IS" makes him extraconceptual. Restriction is relative

The Scarlet King is always there (exo-narrative), his process of consuming a narrative is not dependent on if something or someone knows it as there is *always* something or someone who knows it outside the narrative. What should be noted is the Scarlet King's consumption of a narrative is only sped up by knowledge of it.
The difference is analogous to Oblivion being all possible endings of all stories while Scarlet King is killing all which makes stories possible. Those in the story or who make the story possible occasionally accidentally see the Scarlet King and thus speed up that process. Subtle difference, but one is clearly a step above the other.

Interesting how these beings keep claiming that they can effect the reader. When they can't. As big as they are in their continuity, they are moderately sized fish in a tiny pond. The readers and authors are far beyond them. Think about it. We create realities, multiverses, and all manner of horrors to afflict them. In my own dabbles into stories I have given birth to gods and heroes only to torture and destroy them all for my own amusement.
These beings exist as stray thoughts and burst of imagination to us. We are dimensions above them to the point of it being inconceivable. We are the third highest dimension of reality. Above us is the heavenly realm where the angels live. Above them is God. The being who created all things, is technically a reality unto himself, and is beyond even our comprehension. There is a theory that any world we imagine is actually real but is a lower dimension so we can see into it. Thinking about this then we can assume that the SCP multiverse is real. Also because we have seen universes where there are beings that can travel the multiverse, then some must have come to our reality.
So one might assume that we should be doomed because some of these beings are NOT friendly. Such as the Lovecraft mythos and the SCP multiverse. The thing is while we can perceive the lower levels of the multiverse it does not work the opposite. We are aware of higher plains of existence but we can't actually perceive them or affect them. That is because we are less than them and so it is with these beings of cosmic entropy.
You want to see what would be the most powerful SCP that would body the Scarlet King? Look in the mirror.
Weirdly enough. You're not wrong. Scaling wise it would go to SCP-3812 and the creatures that exist in the other worlds. But you're not wrong about us being above them as they express multiple times that the readers are above even the powers of the authors. So yeah, because the authors are us so thus we can do what they can do but on our greater level cuz we're not restricted. It's honestly really weird. I think even the comics they've done this

1. The first thing to understand is that characters are scaled by feats, not by statements. You have to actually prove a character can do something. You can’t just say they can.
2. Omnipotence in fiction has been debunked. So, omnipotence cannot exist in fiction for two reasons. One is because, logically, no character in fiction is omnipotent because an omnipotent character would not be bound by fiction and TOAA cannot come out of a comic to punch me. Two is because, to prove a character omnipotent, you would have to prove that they can do literally everything imaginable which is not possible.
3. Even if omnipotence were to exist in fiction, it would fall under no limits fallacy. No limits fallacy basically requires that a character must have a story, and, as you probably guessed, it means that you can’t just make a character have unlimited power. It basically stops all of the stupidly overpowered OCs without stories from being included in power-scaling. However, no limits fallacy also makes omnipotence in fiction impossible.

Edit: SCP is not bigger in cosmology than marvel though. I see this with a lot of franchises, where the universe with more detailed explanation is stated to be 'bigger' and 'stronger' despite the conclusion of both being the same. Both SCP and Marvel have reached Boundless, True Abstraction levels of existence in terms of cosmology, they just explain it differently, with SCP taking an excessively convoluted route.
Noosphere contains inaccessible cardinals which already greatly surpass uncountable infinities within the multiverses. The Infosphere transcends the Noosphere greatly, arguably more so than Oblivion transcends the other abstracts. That’s not to mention that reaching the Alpha Layer is several layers above that too.

What is your basis for comparing Info-Nosphere & Oblivion-Abstracts? The Alpha Layer literally has equivalents in most forms of fiction. There is no basis for Oblivion being weaker than Scarlet other than arbitrary numerical assumptions that contradict the point of them being outerversal in the first place.
If your comparison was between the Chaos King & SK avatar then you could bring in the uncountable dimension argument bc both are clearly limited to hyperspace, but true form Oblivion & Scarlet are in the same sphere of power. I feel like people need to find out what it means to be a community-based world rather than calling it fan fiction
It's funny seeing writers come up with fictional characters who say they could affect their creators and the audience. Like, are you that desperate to come up with something so OP that you'd sacrifice your integrity as an author, only to come up with an assertion that's so blatantly false? Every '4th wall' or 'meta-breaker' is ultimately unable to leave their narrative and fictional jurisdiction; sorry if that's a hard pill to swallow.
How is that? Very desperate considering every OP thing that characters have throughout fiction are basically the same. Half of the time they do reference at the authors that they take down are either metaphysical of themselves or they make it at the actual authors. Never even took damage. At the same time you have to understand. Everyone knows they cannot truly come out of their fictional walls since they are layers on those walls as well. If you're mad about this then maybe get on with the point of commenting

It honestly feels like battle debaters have infected the site at some point, as now they have a playground where their OC is accepted, and all they have to do is fluff a pseudo-scientific paper to justify its existence.
I don't want to read about SCP-BALLSMASHER that's infinite dimensions, and can totally transcend fiction to smash your balls in the real world. Especially since it's still bullshit, as no matter how "transcends fiction" your character is, it's still not a threat to the real world. It still cannot affect the real world. It is still fiction no matter how well or how detailed you write it.
The only one close enough to do that is, surprisingly enough, Slender Man. He caused a child's attempted murder. He's the actual reason why that terrible thing happened.

They have no Canon storyline like no beginning or end. Only stories and pieces for you to put together. And at the same time, each one of them could intertwine if the connection could make sense, like for example, would entities like 682 there's a conversion of him that lost to a car and a version of defeated a god. Both are technically him. It just depends on which story you're following

It's just rather they don't have a Canon beginning or end For example, every scp-001 instance does technically exist and have shown to even cross one another. SCP has a bigger cosmology. Second only to WOD.
I can answer a baseline for ben 10 cosmology, it has a bare minimum 15 spacial dimensions (based in irl scientific theory not scaling) judging by UAF, and with some stuff from writers, statements by higher dimensional beings appearing, some other stuff too, including a certain fact people ignore but is canon, the Ben cosmology scales roughly too a high complex outerversal construct give or take some stuff from UAF that may make it higher or lower, and with the factor of the ben 10 cosmology is connected to all CN cosmologies at once (thanks a lot uncle grandpa and OkKo for making me have to calc over 400 shows), and if you really want something to think about, the scan function of the omnitrix would work on any other god from lovecraft, the scarlet king, most of DC and marvels cosmological beings including celestials and lucifer, the doctor, and the weaver, ben could very much just be way stronger when including this function.

The SCP mythos used to be creating cool and creative anomalies that are extremely hidden from the public view by a secret international organization that studies these anomalies and understand them.

There not those are just some of the more famous one that make it to TikTok’s and they only scale you know the more op ones but even still the op ones have some good stories
Most stories are actually well-written, but some people just make scps that are so op they could beat your mom with her belt easily. Some good scps are The Origami Dragon scp, 049, 173, 106, and 343. Some Scp tales have some of the best stories I've ever seen, some are just horrible.
Just read the Djoric or DJkaktus tales, those are pretty good. Placeholder has made A1 profiles too like 6747 and 6820.

I enjoy a lot of the stories that address the subtle horror of being a mortal in a universe where incomprehensible horrors reside, and you're just a puppet waiting for your strings to be attached. The Trashfire (for which the Scarlet King is one of four major antagonistic forces trying to corrupt humanity through the perpetuation of extremism fascism) and LOLFoundation (a group of deluded reality benders decide to play "SCP researchers" with the rest of humanity as the world falls to ruin) are both good examples of this.
Both are very bleak but I enjoy the dark comedy sprinkled throughout. For other recommendation (assuming you're interested)
- DJKaktus is fantastic for dense but rewarding high fantasy/alternate history storylines (Ex: SCP-6500, and all of Project Paragon)
- I would personally recommend smaller Canons like Mundus Liberari (SCPF is a resistance force trying to end the UN's new "silent extermination" policy against anomalous creatures) or Insect Hell (kind of a "Grey Goo" scenario, where self-replicating locusts consume the world) if you want something less dense/more self-contained
-Unhuman ("normal" humans disappear, leaving the world in the hands of the anomalous) and Ninth World (the anomalous is at its most powerful, and everyone's rushing to collect a series of artifacts that will let them "build paradise") are really good if you like urban fantasy/Sci-fi, and When Day Breaks if you like straight-up apocalyptic body horror (the sun goes wrong, and everyone suffers for it).
