Hello mate I'm literally doing the same alloys what grade sand paper did you use? I'm using 400 at the minute but it doesn't seem to be touching it..... thanks
I tried to paint hyper silver last week, or at least close to, by using gray primer then silver paint then clear coat, but the result is not something close to hyper silver at all. It looks a lot just silver. Is there any change for me to fix that, maybe by adding another coat ?
Thanks for your quick response. So basically I need to start all over again ? Sand them off and then start with glossy black primer ( I want the rims look brighter )--> light coats of silver ? In that case, which spray paint brand would you recommend ? VHT or Rust Oleum ?
Dont use rustolueom get some Krylon or Color Palace... It will go much better, make sure the can is warmed up too, makes the paint lay better without that bumpy finish
@@ChrisTheCarBuilder thanks for the response! Another question can you get a smooth finish with no clear? Im afraid if i dont add clear the surface will be gritty and brake dust and other contaminants will just bake itself on the paint happened before with some rims i painted with little to no clear.
I know how to park my car so I dont have any curb rash problems like that but if for some reason my wheels need refurbished I'll tell you a secret to fix them- go buy different wheels! Then you wont be tweakin all day and night getting a half ass finish on one wheel. If you are a person who slams your wheels into curbs- keep the shit you have because you will just keep destroying them. Cant fix tarded.
Looks good. That's the silver effect I want
That's exactly the look I want to recreate on my wheels. I didn't realise it could be DIY'd with aerosol cans so many thanks for posting the vid.
Hey, you left some "skidmarks" on one of the spokes of the rim after you used your boxer shorts to "clean" it.
you resurfaced a bmw alloy wheel with the same color. Not Chrome My Man.
Never clean ur rims with ud underwear.. have some respect to those rims..lol
They just look like silver wheels, where does the chrome effect kick in ???

Son K black base coat, thin coats or silver, no clear. If you add clear, add loads and polish the hell out of it

you can use black paint as a base coat like in the video.

Hi CB CarStyle, can you please tell me what spray paint did you use on the video ?
Son K as far as I remember, Simoniz. The brand doesn't matter too much, a lot of brands share their paint anyway!
Yea.... But I really wanna know what chrome effect paint you used. I'm thinking if it's some silver paint ?!?!
Son K as I said, it's chrome effect paint, and as far as I remember it's made by Simoniz.
oh ok, thanks a lot, man
seriusly will get good finishing when you wipe the wheels with your boxer?.... hahahahaha....
finishing with Tommy boxer.....respect !!!!
If you dont add clear will the paint flake off?? I like the color you got before adding clear.
Clear will make it more resistant to chips and fading, but good prep is what makes the paint stick

I found that it's style 193 recently but thanks anyway man.

Shadow chrome !!! Looks more like ya used the black as basecoat primer and sprayed it silver like it was lol no shadow chrome whatsoever there lol
This is how I’ve always done it before. The quality of that simoniz chrome effect paint isnt brilliant! I won’t be using it again
Nice, painting over corrosion! Won't last a week
That's silver.
Apparently you don't know what "CHROME" is! LOL
Definitely not chrome color
