Lok-N-Roll Nut Review

- In this video, I slap on a new Lok-N-Roll brand nut on an old Jackson import I've had. No other tweaks or mods done, same strings, tuning, set up. I didn't do a before/after comparision, because really, there was no comparison. The old Floyd Rose R-3 nut made the strings sound dead compared to the demo nut. This is not necessarily a full review, but rather, a first response of my thoughts about it.

I love that shirt! oh yeah, thanks for the review
Really interesting. Thanks for sharing this and keep up the amazing work you do at ESP🤘Stay safe and healthy Greg
Thank you so much Alex!! I appreciate you watching! Stay safe and healthy as well!🤘😁👍
Greg the Guitar Guy you skipped right over my comment what’s the problem?
Any sitar affects at the g string? Does it sound good with and without the clamps?
Finally someone demonstrating this lock nut correctly.
Well, I'm not much of a reviewer (or player), but I appreciate you watching! 🤘😁👊
@@gregtheguitarguymotorcyclist I've seen quite a few of these videos where the player demonstrates this lock nut by playing a bunch of lead lines and very little chording if any. This nut is about intonation at the lower register of the guitar, and that's best demonstrated by playing chords. That's exactly what you did. In addition you gave some well explained tech information. Thanks.
@@DTM-ch7jy thank you!
My E-II comes with FR. For a few year it has no problem. Then two years ago, out of nowhere there was sitar effect on the first five frets on high E string. Other strings have none of this problem. I thought my neck may be too straight so I loosen my truss rod a little bit. It alleviates the problem a little bit. I think this nut may be able to remove my problem.
Yeah, there are a lot of variables with a Floyd Rose equipped guitar, and set up of any guitar, especially a Floyd Rose guitar is critical. Can't say what the problem was, or even of this nut would fix it, but this nut does alleviate some of those quirky things associated with a double locking tremolo equipped instrument. Check out the Lok n Roll website, there is some good information about the product on there! Thanks for watching and for your feedback! 🤘😁👍
cool thanks G
You got it dude! Thank YOU! 🤘😁👍
Thanks Greg - saw them at NAMM and kind of had the 'snake oil' feeling, but I'm kinda tempted now!
Hey Ian! This is my very first exposure, so it's limited, but first impression is that this would be a good improvement, no matter the extent. Super comfortable too, lower profile and smoother edges.
It is snake oil
@@davekiddie4467 I'll have to look closer at that. I haven't found that yet.
You should do a update on this! Like a year later after using this product video
You're actually right man! I have it on one of my main guitars now! 👊🏻😁🤘🏻
And Lok N Roll as a company is no more. Wiped out via pandemic. They haven't had product available going on 3 years. I did get 2 of these nuts in 2019. Still have em on guitars. They look cool, but there really is no sound change, and no difference in feel. Only thing positive would be that they might last longer than a new Floyd nut which last about a year before they start going to sh*t. Remedy? Get the Titanium Floyd nut that won't ever wear out. $$$$? Yep, but it will still be on there 10 years from now, no prob.
I need one of these on my new Jackson. The one that came on it is total Chinese junk. Terrible.
You will like it! Thanks for watching! 👊😁🤘
