@@bvanhoosen Got it in the mail today and already on the guitar with fresh strings. Open chords and major 3rds on the G and B string sound so much better. I'm liking the R3 string spacing better than the R4 that was on it too. Thanks again!
I have a ‘93 Jackson Rev. Dinky Professional that would benefit from this locking nut, I’m sold!! Great video Bryce, long time supporter!! 🤘🏼keep Rockin’🤘🏼
I’m an Ibanez guy but I have to agree the outlined fins brings shark fins and shark teeth on the Ibanez into modern era, I have a love hate relationship with the shark teeth on my RG550 LTD they kinda look cheap and date my guitar but it’s almost 30 years old so.
If this is a true compensated nut you failed to show how you would adjust it back and forth like a bridge saddle would do to dial in your intonation . Does this nut even do this ? And fret board raduis does this nut come in different radiuses for different guitars . Most Jackson's have compound radius necks, do they make a nut for these type necks? And individual string height are they adjustable or just pre set ? Can this nut be filed to adjust individual string height and fret board raduis with out messing with its function? Does it come with shims to sit under it if the shelf that sits on your fretboard holds it up to high for it to sit properly? And can you order it so this shelf that sits on your fret board in front of the nut matches your fret board radius? All these things i ask are very important if you want your guitar to stay in tune and play the best it can to your preference . If your nut is not dialed in radius wise and height wise for each individual string all your other adjustments when doing a proper set up wont mean much. Otherwise it looks and sounds just like a floyd rose locking nut without sharp edges and a different allen key.
I use tone vise keyless nut locks. Keeps the tuning when locking in and I don’t need an allen key to tune. $35. What would the advantage be over those?
Nice video on nuts…As a side note, some production guitars ship with the nut slot being too high. That too can mess with your “Cowboy Chords” being out of tune.
Cool video Bryce 🤘🔥🤘 On both of my Jackson’s with Floyd’s (Maul Crackle V and Barndon Ellis Kelly) the break angle at the nut to the tuners isn’t high enough… so my strings go sharp when I clamp my nuts ! Ouch 😂 JK dude 👍 Do the LockNroll nuts do this as well ? They look pretty bulky and am hoping they improve the break angle at the nut . Cheers dude 🍻
They do improve the break angle (at least from what I can tell) but it's still not 100% perfect. I think this is just a Jackson construction thing. Lok-N-Roll, definitely better than the stock tuner, but still have to back out the tuner on the low strings after locking down.
If you want better intonation, you have to have a compensated bridge as well as the nut unless you like the sound of your axe out of tune after the 7th fret. This will make your cowboy chords sound good, but the rest will sound like ass 😂
Isn’t that what setting the intonation at the bridge does in the first place? I’m just a player, so I don’t know anything about building guitars. I trust you have extensive knowledge and experience as a luthier.
Just ordered one up for my '89 Charvel Fusion deluxe. Thanks for the video; looking forward to the results. 👍
Hell yeah man! Enjoy it!

Hell yeah, thank you so much! Appreciate it 🙏🙏🙏
Wish the price point was slightly lower. Looks like they only come in chrome.
Only chrome for now. Hoping the black ones drop soon!
I grind down the underside of my Floyd nuts to get them at low height over the first fret. Very important part of a setup.
That’s a good tip! I’ve done that on a couple of my nuts and it definitely helps
Love those outlined sharkfins my wildcard soloist has one at the 12th fret wish it had all of them. Sick guitar you got.
Thank you! Agree they look super cool!

Idk I just play guitar dude
😂
I have a Modulus Carbon Fiber 6 String Neck I have been saving for a Project and thinking might go with this to add to overall performance and Look
Hell yeah! Definitely will!

I’ve never used those, so I can’t comment on that!
I'd love to get one. but all my Floyds are black. Only chrome they make them in I see?
Black and gold are coming soon from what I understand. I need like 3 more black ones hahaha
That is a badass 😎 👏 clean tone man. Was that the Kemper?
Thank you! Yes it was
Cool guitars nice clean tones. Cool product.
Cheers! Thanks for watching 🙏

Haha! Yeah, I definitely noticed that! One of these, or a quick trip to your local tech can certainly do wonders there

So are you using the “feather touch” on all the notes on 1st fret?
This cat in Ontario “String Tech”(?) makes compensated nuts and he plays every fret 1-12 and they’re all dead ……nuts…..in tune! Pun intended 🤦♂️
@@roderickgful yeah, basically just enough pressure to fret the note. Since I use very light strings and high frets, I don’t have to press very hard.
This video is about as informative as time travel.
better than this weird ass comment at least

Love me some king v guitars
Same!
r3 only? what duh fugg, shims?
So far, yes - but no shims. R3 is what all of my Jacksons come with...
Kemper clean is definitely badass
Thank you!
NO 7 String OPTION!!! NO CARE, TIRED OF BEING IGNORED BY MANUFACTURERS!
🙁
This is cool Bryce I came to this video per u description on today's posted video on whammy goodness 😂thanks bro.🫡
