I'm waiting for my package, I already ordered one from Thomann a few days ago. I still had to watch this video! You do make it sound like a versatile pedal, the other demos I've seen have been short and not in such detail.
I really like Fender's reverb. I would like to hear this with a delay for a trippy ambient sound but this pedal does it great alone. Great video, Henning!
I was nearly screaming when you said the specials could be more special, and you hadn't tried it with the time turned up yet! Based on other reviews I've seen, it produces amazing octave overtones, not that I really need that myself. Anyway, you're review is definitely the most thorough and very entertaining. I'm buying one now!
Nice review. Fantastic pedal. Can't believe the price. 14:45 It's probably a high pass filter to reduce muddy bass frequencies for the longer decay times.

Fender's new range of pedals come in at reasonable price point and sound v v good. Shame about the over-bright on/off LED though - I've noticed a few manufacturers doing this and it's so annoying on stage (I've ended up using a marker pen to make mine less bright...) I think they should've just used the knob LED's to indicate whether it was on or off and saved a few more cents on each unit.
Got the Marine Layer today and I must say it's great. And it seems that
Fender adjusted the LED lights / also on the Bends compressor... so no
sun glasses required anymore... :) thx for the demo... it was very
helpful
My answer for a question on 17:10 - spring is in your amp. Just use it. Fantastic pedal. Just brought one for 70eur. Thank you for review, it helped me to deicide.

That knob for predelay does magic in the special mode. I have the pedal and I bought it because this video!!!
Thank you you did an excellent job of covering the basis what people usually Miss is adding dirt when they start trying these reverbs on videos reverbs especially some delays get kind of muddy when adding distortion

I'm actually glad it does not have spring. If it did I actually wouldn't get it or would think less of it to do.

Reverb is my favorite effect
OK I want to get 2 of these to run at the same time: one for a bit of roomy sound almost subliminally to fatten up the sound and another for the washy reverb on top of it. Gorgeous! I gather 'twill be EPIC!
It still sounds really musical even when totally cranked up! The true test of a reverb. Usually with about half that much reverb I would be saying to myself "Why do they have so much damn reverb on?!?" - not with this unit (ha ha)!
Nice strat tones! I have the Hall of fame also... for $120 but will put this baby in my auxillary small gig board for sure.... Nice job showing the wide variety of settings achieved by simply turning the knobs... (only critique is I'd love to have heard it with a "tele" type to hear some more spanky stuff). Cheers!

Have you compared this to EHX oceans 11? I assume the fender may have a more lush Reverb . Have you demoed the 11?
There’s a truck load more in the tank in both special modes. Andy showed this in his video. It’s shimmertastic.
Seems like a really nice reverb with great features...too bad it doesn't have a stereo option, even with a TRS output. The battery compartment is an excellent feature too!
yes it would be nice to have those... and it's cost would surely increase... (I run my Hall of fame in lush stereo also)

Also maybe try the filter off and damping ask the way you to get more shimmer. You need the high end to hear the angels usually.
But maybe fender dampened themselves programmed the algorithm so that you don't get that weird droney panic attack type shimmer. Who knows

He does have one but that's a combo made into a head, you wouldn't recognize it as a Fender, at least not without a closer look at the panel.
I don't remember what it is though, maybe a Hot Rod or Blues Deluxe. You can see it in the amp rack in older videos, made out of light-colored wood and treadplate.
Before he had the Torpedo stuff, the speaker of that combo was usually used for most stuff, in an iso-box in the basement.
he has a tone king sky king, which is pretty much like a super boutique tweed style amp

Glory Keys I have the RV 6... it’s useful for some things but you can’t get any ambient sounds.

Come ON Fender, that form factor for a new product on 2018 is WAY HUGE (pun intended)... especially with the 1/4 jacks on the sides.
Yes it's big, but that battery layout and magnetic door wouldn't work in a smaller layout... I thinks

Dial in pre delay and reverb time, and you will get a huge amount of shimmer.
I have one. I use it on my bass pedalboard. You have to listen to it on a fretless bass 🖤
