Alright some tortilla tips from a Mexican senora: 1) roll the dough into little balls, that helps with rolling them out round 2) don't flip the tortillas that much when cooking and we press them down to make sure the entire thing is cooked 3) when they start to puff up flip them and push down on the bubbles to make sure they keep cooking evenly 4) they should not have any "clear" looking spots, that's how you know it's cooked 5) Enjoy!
Agree 👍
Agree 💯
Thank you!
Cool.
Thank you for the tips. I’m Hispanic and have never made tortillas. I’m gonna give it a shot. 😊
OMG lol. I laughed so hard when Josh said "We aren't going back. These weren't difficult were they?" "Oh ok good". My significant other said the same thing when I made homemade tortillas the first time to.
The best Becky moments are when she tastes something super delish and her eyebrows pop up and her eyes go wide and it takes a sec for her to articulate what we already know. So fun to watch. Thanks for the ongoing effort.
Agreed. I find myself waiting for that moment. Never disappointed, lol
Same 😂
I keep my cast-iron skillet in the oven to I’m glad you didn’t hurt yourself
I also love when a second later she'll say, nope, needs something more. Genuine for a cook that doesn't measure 😊
You so right Kim, that look on her face is my favorite part too. I catch myself waiting for it when she tries something!
How Josh is with you, melts my heart. Kindness is the most attractive thing a person can be.
We don't care about the wood chips 15:07, just that you didn't hurt yourself! Thanks for sharing another delightful day with you.
Exactly. Who hasn't brought in something they didn't realize was on them. I once walked through a spider web and had a dead moth in my hair (hanging from a hairbow like a decoration) for an hour until my sister rescued me. Very glad you're okay. :)
Exactly!
I probably would not have noticed had she not mentioned them😂
Yes! Definitely more concerned about the fall. So glad you are ok.
I agree, glad ur ok.
No one can accuse you of "staging" your videos!!! You keep them real and down to Earth and that's why we love you.... you're "one of us"!!! So thankful you didn't hurt yourself or your precious little one!!! Josh is such a keeper!!!! ❤
You are amazing
I love that about her. It’s a quality that most people do not possess anymore….”being real”.
I'm Hispanic and the baking powder is what makes them soft. If you did another fat but used baking powder you would love them too. The baking powder is what makes all the difference. I'm not sure if I saw you put salt in the tortilla mix? But that's an important ingredient as well. My family always made tortillas with lard and they would make three dozen tortillas from mix to cook in one hour.. whereas I'm much slower. Lol
ty! I want to attempt making them but glad I saw this first!
Yep, I've made them with lard and baking powder and they were awesome.
She added salt.
I agree, lard or shortening, baking powder warm water and lots of kneading are the secrets to great tortillas that cook up beautifully. I’m also hispanic and have never used a liquid oil.
@@CRBMallard If you don't have lard, what would be the next best thing to use?
LMAO! I laughed so so much at you for being so ashamed of the wood chip stuck on your arm. Girl… we love you. I think any one of us would have been in same spot. You owned and it hilarious 🤣. You are adorable
I read the comments as part of the "experience". You are so loved Becky... and very deservedly so! And so is Josh BTW. You two are going to be a sensation I think..there is very little genuineness, kindness and authenticity in the world of "entertainment" media. You both embody all that, and your families are a beautiful supporting cast!
I love reading the comments as well. Becky has the best fan base / audience. This is my favorite part of my day.
I agree. I think I have only ever seen one negative comment under any of her videos, and it was pretty mild. I believe the viewer was new and learned very quickly what/who/how many they were going to be up against! lol We will protect Becky at all costs!
Something about Becky! She not only inspiring, she’s energizing. My mood always improves when I watch her. She’s always reminding us that whatever we’re doing in the kitchen it’s fun!
Finally time to relax with Becky ❤
I'm cleaning with Becky unfortunately 😂
Amy, but it is still more pleasant than cleaning without Becky 😉
Sitting in my car at work having lunch and watching
Yessss
Me too.
Oooh my. That wood chip made me and my momma laugh harder than we have all day ❤️ Thanks Becky!
I can't stop laughing at the wood chip. I love how real your videos are. You are fabulous !
Me neither - it is hilarious 😂That wood chip has ambition!
“Oh goodness! Our tortilla’s done! So bubbiy!” So sweet.
Between the wood chip holding on for dear life and Josh being willing to try a pumpkin taco, I literally laughed out loud several times during this video 😂
Me too 🤣
Same lol
Me too!!! 😆😆😆
Me too!!! And Becky's voice over apologizing but you know she was laughing too!
Josh’s culinary willingness
He would have put it on there 😅 pumpkin 🎃 priceless and so funny
The tortilla recipe was a hit in my house. My husband said that’s what tortillas are supposed to taste like which is high praise. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!
The dangling woodchip was a hilarious side kick for the episode today! Thanks for the smiles.
My Mother in law used to say that when your flour tortilla bubbled up meant your mother in law loves you. A tradition we had when we were little everytime my mother was cooking up a batch of flour tortillas we'd fight for the first tortilla hot off the cast iron griddle and then smear butter on it... So yummy. Mom always make sure she had plenty of tortillas. Memories! Thanks for sharing!
Just a tip…not always for everyone but when you fold your sheet sets, put sheets and extra pillowcase inside one of the pillow cases. Then they are all together and don’t fall over or get messy.
I love this idea!
My friend told me she saves the hangers for pants from wal mart and clips the pillow cases with the sheets inside to the hangers to hang up in her linen closet.
Oh my goodness, you just changed my life!
Yes! I've been doing that for years...a whole set together neatly...
I fold flat sheet first , half, then half again. At this point spread out and smooth. Put corners in corners 2 and 2 then put those all inside one corner. Fold long edge into thirds on top flat sheet. Now take pillowcases fold in thirds long ways. So you then have flat sheet on bottom fitted next and pillowcases. Take a moment smooth. Fold about 12 inches in and then one more fold. Perfect and finally tie aside ribbon around. They are kept neat and tidy.
Gideon and Henry are so adorable playing together! Gideon is a wonderful big brother.
I'm so sorry you fell! No worries about the mulch, just glad you're okay! Loved the video!
I love that you properly season all your food! there's no point in growing all that amazing produce and not seasoning it to bring out all the fabulous flavours.
Great video! I’ve been making homemade tortillas for years(my husband is Hispanic) I use lard as my fat. With your freezer inspiration I now make double batch, separate into balls and flash freeze. Then when I’m going to make anything tacos I just take out however many I need from the freezer😊
FABULOUS IDEA
Thanks! I was wondering about that.
They freeze well cooked too. After they thaw in the fridge or on the cabinet just heat them up in the skillet🤍
I absolutely love your videos! And, I especially loved your Q&A video yesterday. I wanted to tell you that it's ok to do you and make decisions that are right for your family. No two families are the same. Each is unique. So you do you, and that will be what is best for your family. You and Josh are such good wholesome people. And we, your viewers, are blessed to be part of your lives. I have nothing but huge respect for you.
It's not funny that you fell (hope you're ok), but the dangling wood chip has me cracking up. I just love you so much!
There’s nothing better than a hot and fresh tortilla with butter! ❤️
I love that josh was prepared to put squash on his taco😂 I love watching your videos!
Hello, Becky!
I’ve been struggling with my mental health for almost ten years. I used to love cooking, but since I got depression I haven’t been able to cook.
I have watched your videos for over a year and I finally got the motivation to cook something ❤
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Becky! You don’t know how much this means to me! It reminded me of how much cooking brings me joy!
The tortillas turned crunchy. Probably because I messed up the water amount, but they were still delicious!!!
Warm hugs 🇯🇵
I'm happy for you. Please take care of yourself. Keep going
@Monica, be encouraged you aren't alone in this battle. 🙏🏼 Currently today I didn't shower til noon and I have a clean pile of clothes on my stripped bed that's been here for a month and a week old pile on my couch and a hamper full that needs washing. I was able to make some cheddar broccoli soup as i watched her previous video.
(I'm Binging on Becky 😄)
Tacos look delicious! You've given me the courage to try making tortillas myself. Remember when you were harvesting your winter squash at the old house & you mentioned researching some new recipes for butternut squash. Thought I'd mention one of our favorite recipes is Jamie Oliver's butternut squash muffins. They have olive oil as the fat, chopped walnuts & taste very similar to carrot cake. They have a glaze made with confectioners sugar, little clementine (or mandarin orange) juice & zest. They're simply to die for & a perfect breakfast muffin, desert or snack for fall, spring or really anytime of the year.
Josh - we are never going back!
does this take a lot of effort?
I love how you two are always thinking of one another and the effort you each give in your marriage ❤
I make tortillas every other day (we don’t buy tortillas) my abuelas and my mama always said the secret to perfect pliable dough is to use boiling salted water. It won’t cook your flour and it makes the dough perfect and your flour tortillas will roll out easily and puff up beautifully
Thank you!!!
I will try it when I make tortillas!!!
@@monicas2461 you are very welcome 😊 so many people get discouraged because their tortillas don’t look like perfect circles. Remember flavor is your goal and the more you make tortillas the circle shape will automatically start to happen as long as you rotate your tortillas while rolling although it will never be perfect
@@Mejiaelis
Tortillas are not easy to find here in the countryside of Japan, so I want to try to make them!
Thank you so so much ❤
@@monicas2461 they are easy peasy . Flour, baking powder, a fat (oil or any kind you prefer) and the salted boiling water. Let dough rest 10-15 minutes and you are ready to start rolling them out
Did try these tonight with hot, not boiling, water, kneaded 2 minutes, let rest 45 minutes. Dough would shrink back to a long rectangle when I lifted them onto the pan. Tasted good, would like them a bit thinner and somewhat circular. Will try the boiling water method. Thank you.
Thank you, Becky. You being productive makes me productive. I work alongside you often. I think my husband thinks sometimes that keeping up with my homesteaders hinders me getting work done, but it’s just the opposite. I watch, well mostly listen, to you guys as I do my own work around the house. Otherwise, I might not be so motivated! Have a beautiful week, Becky!
I absolutely love you and your videos, my grandmother just passed away and watching your videos has helped a lot with anxiety. Thank you thank you thank you
Oh I'm so so sorry about your grandmother! I'm glad I can bring some joy in your life :)
Sending warm hugs your way, Anabel ❤
A tip for the pumpkin: once it has cooled enough to handle, use a cheese cloth bag to squeeze all the juice out, it's so much faster. Happy gardening!
We've all had a wood chip moment so no worries! As long as you weren't hurt. I tried your pumpkin sausage bake the other night and it was delicious! Thank you for all the good cooking inspiration. Next will be tortillas!
Nothing fake or dramatic. Just a wonderful honest human. Pleasure to learn some new ways from you. God Bless You and Yours. 🙏
Oh my goodness! Woody woodchip was really hanging in there watching you preparing the food. 😂😂😂. That wonderful meal you prepared looked soooo scrumptious!! Yummy in the tummy. Your chickens must be the luckiest little chickies for all the extra food goodies you give them. Makes the eggs nice and dark yellow. I’m so glad you and Josh are feeling better. Take care and rest as much as you can. Love you guys 💙👶🏻💜
Your kitchen area and view to the patio from the nice window is lovely Becky, looks so cozy.
That wood chip sure hung on. I love Becky because she’s so down to earth😂
Yep. We don't just get good content, we get some wholesome comedy thrown in for a laugh. Lol
I was a little concerned about her falling though, being in her third trimester. But, just yesterday, I was too lazy to change out of my slippers when I went to feed our pony. I came back with alfalfa and pine needles stuck to my slippers. Her woodchip reminded me of that. 😆
@@comenowletusreason6330 I do the same things too. I just love her taking us through all aspects of the journey.
I'm so glad your ok and didn't hurt yourself falling! Every time I saw that wood chip dangling back and forth I couldn't help but to giggle. You're so adorable and real. No need to apologize at all, I was highly entertained =p
Becky and family....I'm an american living here in mexico my better half is a mexican and we find that tortillas made with a mix of bread and corn flour make the best tortillas especially for turnovers (empanadas) . Wishing you guys all the best. Jim Oaxaca
Thank you Becky for being you and not trying to be something artificial, I truly mean that. I'm in my forties and have been a bland cooker all my life but you inspire me to try new things and make them nutritious. In your Q & A video I had so much I was gonna comment about but opted not to as so much was already being said in the comments, but here I just had to. In these times that we are going through on a daily basis, you bring a sense of peace and goodness to the world and for that I am genuinely grateful for. Thank you Becky and thank you to the man behind the woman, Josh! You both hands down are going to be a wonderful blessing to God's spark he gifted you both with.
Yeah, glad to see you today!!! Hope you're feeling good today!!❤
Hi sweetie. When I need to hang something up I hook the hanger (in the closet) onto a the end of a hanger already on the rod and hang the article of clothing on the empty hanger. Works great for hoodies, jackets, sweaters, etc. I would have used the nob above your table.😊 You ALWAYS give me helpful ideas and I truly appreciate that. We are very like minded. I also enjoy that you don’t edit out “real life” thing. No one is perfect. You are REAL and I love that. Tfs. Have a wonderful day.🤗
Me da mucho gusto ver cómo intentas recetas con toques mexicanos.
So great! Always stay sweet and just as you are. Don’t let the world mess with your style. You are so amazing!
Josh and the pumpkin at the end was my favorite. So funny and sweet 😄
Becky by far is my favorite channel. I have a long commute each day and I don't know what I would do if I didn't have Becky to listen to. I was right there with you on the wood chips 🤣 made my day. Would love to have your slaw recipe- looked very refreshing.
I have a cast iron tortilla press and it makes it so much faster! I use a large plastic zip bag cut on one side to use to put ball of dough in between! 😊
I absolutely hate that you fell, however, that little wood chip is bringing lots of joy! LOL. I think we all find you so endearing.
Hi Becky! Ok so, about your avocados. When you get them and they are fairly ripe, store them in a covered bowl of water in the refrigerator. Take out your avocado as needed. Ours lasted 3 weeks and were so creamy. No black spots either! I was very pleased with the outcome.
Thankyou for all you do. You inspire, encourage and teach me so much. God bless you and Josh n baby. Praying for you!
Hello!
Thank you for the tip!
Do you put the bowl of water in the fridge? Or is it ok to leave it room temperature?
@@monicas2461 in the refrigerator
@@monicas2461 I edited my avocado advice. Thankyou for asking.
Hi Love! Next time you roast the pumpkin n consider keeping the liquid, put it in a crock pot , or sauce pan. Slowly reduce like Maple sap. I think you will be delighted!♡
That Sounds Amazing! Is that all you need to do with it? Or add anything. salt, sugar Or spices to the reduction? Thanks So Much!
You are simply amazing Becky! Your content is my favorite way to relax!
Becky, cooking with you (watching you cook) is like a theme park ride! You are so fun and we never know what you’ll do next! It’s the best. Thank you for letting us tag along!
The leaf on your sleeve is just hysterical, Becky! You do not need to apologize. It makes me feel so seen because it's the kind of thing that happens to me all the time. 😂😂😂 At least it's not toilet paper on your shoe!
😂
done that! styling TP🧻👍🏻😂😂😂
I saved this recipe for the tortillas and I finally used up the store brought ones I had in the freezer. They were so easy to make and so soft and tasty. Thanks Becky
I love the wood chip! Those little foibles and oopsies make us so much more relatable for others. We spend too much time comparing other people's edited highlights to our own blooper reel.
The time you knocked over 2 canning jars of tomatoes in the basement, I totally understood. I had done something very similar earlier in the day!
Hi Becky, just dropping in to say I made your 1hr rolls last week and my hubs liked them so much he requested them instead of mashed potato tonight (massive coming from him) he and my 2 yr old love them 💚
Also they must be quick and easy because he doesn't like it when I make complicated recipes from scratch because he worries I put too much pressure on myself.
Love everything you do. You've inspired me so much since I found your videos a few months ago. I go through a lot more flour these days haha and we can't get Italian sausage in my country so I made it from pork mince and added the spices.... currently our favorite meat
💚💚💚
Homemade tortillas are the ultimate comfort. So delicious. I make them the same as this recipe, with vegetable oil, and they come out super soft. The only difference is that I separate and roll into balls before resting the dough and that makes rolling them a dream. No shrinking because the gluten is so relaxed.
It's the oil u put in the flour that makes the air bubbles xx
I only have eaten tortillas a couple times. I like them, but because they are hard to find here, I will try to make them!!!
Thank you for the tip!!!
Such a special dinner, the tortillas look delicious, you are so good at sorting out better recipes! Relax and enjoy. Josh and the squash was so funny, such a good sport!
Hi Becky, I love your videos and my cooking has greatly improved. You have the most wonderful and supportive followers and I love reading the comments.♥️
Hi Becky! When you make flour tortillas wait for the tortilla to bubble a bit before the first flip/turn. The puffing up is what cooks the "inside" of the tortilla. It's best to let the turn "bust" the bubbling but you can gently press on them to insure even cooking.
Oh my gosh, Becky. Sometimes it's the little things...I've never seen someone use a measuring scoop to clean out a pumpkin. Every Halloween, as kids, we'd clean the pumpkin guts with a little spoon and it took FOREVER! Game changer. Also....you've convinced me, I'm going to try homemade tortillas.
I use an ice cream scoop.❤️🇨🇦
Years ago I read a book, “Teach Like Your Hair Is On Fire”, with the idea that you are so excited about the learning going on in your classroom and are so engaged with your students that you aren’t even aware when your hair catches fire.
Your wood chip experience seems like the same idea. You are having so much fun in your kitchen and are so excited about sharing with us that you didn’t even notice the wood chip. “Cook like there’s wood chips on your arm”😉💝 So glad you are OK and as always, we love your authenticity.
Love, love, love to watch you multitask!! I know you are sometimes hard on yourself for trying to do too much at once, but I think YOU ARE AWESOME! Always inspiring for us!
So glad you talked about the wood shavings as I come in with random things on my clothes. 😊
I'm so happy you share parts of your life with us. You have to be my favorite channel. It's so relaxing and I get such wonderful ideas from you. The knowledge you share is simply amazing as well. Thank you!
So happy to see you use your Cutco knife to cut up the pumpkin. Those are my favorite knives. They have a life time guarantee and you can send them in for free sharpening any time without proof of purchase. We have lucked out and found some at Goodwill at amazing prices. Sent them in to be sharpened and ended up with a like-new knife.
I'm glad you didn't hurt yourself when you fell! We don't care about the wood chips, just you! Your dinner looks absolutely delicious and now I must get the ingredients to replicate it. You're the best in every way Becky! ❤️
What you want is the bubbles when it cooks like pockets.
You want on medium heat to med-high ,
Great job making tortillas,
Love spending time with you in the kitchen Becky. Those tacos looked amazing! I’m glad you and Josh are feeling better! Thank you for sharing all that you do with us! Blessings ❤️🙏🏻
A great trip for cleaning out pumpkins or squash, use a used canning jar lid (not the ring).... easy to hold and the sharp edge cleans the meat of the squash so quickly and easy...toot sweet! Also love your sweet humble way of excusing yourself with the wood chips.... you're so real and honest...I Love You! Best channel ever on RUclips!
I love your videos... your meal looked delicious. Thanks for the laugh with your wood chips (hope you were not hurt) and Josh being prepared to eat the squash. My mom and I are still watching your videos in order and are currently at April 2022. Getting caught up and loving every video.
I am new to your channel within the last few weeks and I have binged watched your videos, I'm pretty sure I have watched over half of them right now. Ha Ha I love them so much I watch at least 2 hours after we go to bed. So glad you shared this recipe for flour tortillas!! I've been looking for a good recipe!! Can't wait to try them! I made your biscuit recipe last night and they are SO GOOD!! Absolutely love your channel, you really inspire me!
Those tacos look fabulous and I bet they taste fabulous! I am not a coleslaw lover but I would try yours! It made my mouth water. I am definitely going to try that tortilla recipe! I have tried several of your recipes and I haven't been disappointed yet. Thank you, once again for the great info and fun presentation! 😊
Glad you are feeling better. I've been sick, too, with my second round of COVID-19. I think it's almost gone, though, I feel much better than I did earlier this week. I'm just praying it doesn't make me lose hair this time. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Yeah. Flour tortillas my son is now waiting patiently. He loves watching you together, recipes are his favorite. Thanks Becky for inspiring us both to be in the kitchen more.

Hope you (and baby) are ok from the fall. Once you pointed out the wood chip I couldn’t stop looking at it😂 You are so skillful in the kitchen! There’s no way I could multi task and not burn every tortilla. I’ve never had a desire to make them homemade but I’ve to try this recipe. Love, love, love watching your content!!!
Just wanted to tell you that I planted my first garlic yesterday! Because of you! I have a 1 acre garden, on our 37 acres but had never thought of growing garlic. I did 4 containers and put 72 in the ground. The really small cloves are being dehydrated right now. All softneck variety, I’m looking for some hard neck but I think I waited too long 😕. Thank you for sharing all you do! You’re an inspiration to this old lady.
Getting a tortilla press is worth the price. They aren't that expensive and are a perfect match for your new dough recipe. Practically perfect round tortillas every time and oh-so-quick. Truly satisfying. (But, rolling them is kind of relaxing and fun, too! ) You have made me so hungry with this video. Your "Chopped" culinary creativity is awesome and based on experience.
Last year I invested in a Victoria tortilla press. I got the HD iron and I really love it. It’s heavy duty and will probably outlive me. It makes the process so much faster and a lot more fun. People love to help when the press comes out.
Roll the masa in a ball, then roll them out with your rolling pin. If you use lard, your masa will be fluffier. Also you turn them too much. You are going to make them turn into crackers by over flipping!
Tortilla presses are only for corn tortillas.
@@ellemarks14 Why just corn? I've used it for flour ones. Interesting!
That liquid from the pumpkin would be good to use as a stock for a soup or something.
We absolutely love this you tube site, you are one of the best Teachers. You are concise, thorough, entertaining, creative, it’s a joy to watch your Joy, very innovative, a very kind and loving person to your husband, family and to your Animals. I’m so impressed that you are a young person and yet you are an old soul when it comes to canning and the need to provide and feed your family. I just Love everything about you and your husband. You are real and not a show off. Please keep up the good work and God Bless you and your new Journey with your growing family. Remember you have us to lean on when you need encouragement with motherhood. It will be a beautiful experience and sometimes not so beautiful but with your support surrounding you don’t ever be to afraid or to proud to ask for help and accept the help that’s offered to you. Yes you could do it all but you don’t have to, let others help so that you can balance time with your baby and time doing the work that you so enjoy. And finally I asked my 94 year old mother who has made thousands and thousands of “Homemade Tortillas” would she have any advice for you on your tortilla making and she said, no except she would like to reach through the TV and grab one of them. And we loved your little heart Tortilla. We Thoroughly enjoyed this show. Thank you.

OMG Becky!!! That wood chip and your remarks about it had me laughing so hard!!! It felt so good to laugh with you about it!!😂
Loving all your content Becky. Hope you're well! Just a small tip from a Hispanic from South Texas.....use hot water for tortillas. As hot as you can stand it. It helps bloom the flour and produces super soft/pliable tortillas
Becky, I live in Florida but lived in Mexico for a few years with my husband. When we came to the U.S., his mother gifted us a tortilla maker. It’s just a heavy metal thing that smashes the dough but if you put a circle in, a round tortilla is created. You can probably get one on Amazon. They’re pretty inexpensive.
@kimberly noble
For some reason i thought she had one of those at the other house.
A tortilla press! I was going to mention that too. Rolling them all out is a pain in the butt.
You guys are so cute and sweet and fun to watch! My 5 yr old daughter sat in my lap to watch and enjoyed the pumpkin and your heart shaped tortillas. :) Going to try that recipe.
After a busy day of errands, I’m FINALLY in my cozy bed watching our sweet friend Becky. Thank you for all you do! My mom used to make flour tortillas EVERY morning for breakfast and they were delicious. I’ve never been good at making them so I buy them already made unless my son who is a chef has time to make them for me.❤️❤️
I have a mandolin, I didn’t think I was going to use it but I do for onions, cabbage. I dehydrate potatoes for scalloped potatoes. I use it much more then I thought I would .
The juice from the baked pumpkin is a delicious addition to soups and stews.
The animation makes the videos. I'm going to buy one to see if it's as watery. I put slits in the top of the pumpkins for the moisture to bake out.
Thank you, thank you, thank you Becky for this complete meal recipe.
Oh, Becky what a joy it is to watch your videos. You are so pure, so lovely, so amazing how much talent you display, and the love you put into your cooking, and the various other chores around your lovely new home. With all the warmth and compassion you show I know you will be a great “New Mother” and you are a beautiful wife to your husband Josh.
"Rachel Cooks with Love" has 2 videos making flour tortillas. The most recent one looks very similar to the ones you made. It's worth watching. She's a good teacher.
Have to say I got all sorts of alarmed when you said you tripped and fell. Then my Mom mind went to “I hope she carries her cell around her neck all day long in case she gets injured, with Josh working outside the home sometimes, and she lives far from neighbours and would not be heard if she yells out, etc. Etc.” They sell cool apparel for joggers that are arm bands to hold cells, etc. Yes, that’s me pushing a solution on you…. Sorry. Loved the recipe and its approval. Tfs
Mexican here.....Always use Lard for flour tortillas. If you want a substitute then use Crisco. Never use oil, especially olive oil.👍 The softness comes from letting your dough rest and also letting the dough "patty" rest again. The hot water will melt the Lard or the Crisco Shortening. That what helps in rising and this happens so fast as soon you press down in the middle . Also pan needs to be preheated to super hot first then can be turned down to medium heat. 🥑
She liked olive oil with hers. I’m Mexican too and I’m definitely trying it with olive oil. She loved it and I doubt me not liking it. I’ve done most of her recipes and not one has failed. Maybe you should try it with olive oil and try something new 😊
Those tacos look amazing good. The recipe you used for the tortilla is the same one I grew up making with my auntie and mom. I loved watching them puff up. I love to put real butter on them when they are hot. So delicious 😋
I love fresh homemade flour tortillas! I will try this recipe for sure. Blessings!!
Hi Becky, hope you and baby are okay. My mom fell with both her pregnancies. So please be careful. Also would like to say, you got me in the kitchen again. Don't know if that is good or bad. But it is hot. Our spring, gets extremely hot. Finally made a dish I haven't made for over 3 yrs. Plain and simple in the ingredients and assembly, however 1 ingredient does take a lot of time to cook down. Cooked tomatoes, spaghetti and cheese. Baked. A family dish. Than you for the video, food looks awesome and see you soon.
I love Josh’s “We aren’t going back to the otherS. Unless they were a lot of work”. Clearly they are yummy and will be made often.
Yes!
That was so sweet and thoughtful of him!
