I love these shows .. if I could time travel I would go back to the Victorian and regancy eras in history. Some of my favorite eras in history.. the ladies dresses and the manor homes are just so beautiful and luxurious and still simplistic in a way that our generations are missing. Families looked after each other , long walks in beautiful gardens .communication via letters reading books instead of watching a tv set all day and last but not least learning how to play a musical instrument or learning how to sing so that you could impress your friends and families with your skills and talents.. also planting your crops and gardens in the spring and taking care of your crops and animal's all summer to reap your bounty in autumn while preparing your household for winter when you would have a winter break and bond even more with your family as you rode out the winters cold .. now days we are lucky to get a weeks vacation and hardly know time to bond with family or enjoy nature and the world around us .

99% of what you described only occurred in the lives of the upper class. You are heavily over-romanticizing what life was actually like for people then. 😂
Not that they actually tended their own gardens! Or didn’t have family drama like we do today. You are describing a fantasy.

I know the history of those times and being born poor back then was not a good time . Time traveling isn't even a real option anyways . Its called wishful thinking.. no need to go all out in vicious Karen attack mode because my comment triggered your inner Karen aggression mode .. good god you people like to create drama over every subject nor can you skip the comments that trigger you .. you just enjoy being miserable and you want to burst everyone else's happy bubble so you can feel some type of supremacy in RUclips comment sections.. lol

I agree with Holly’s comment, you are describing life for the rich upper class. The working class didn’t have gardens or learn to play instruments. Only the select few had it that good. I’ve always found it interesting how the upper class would have a servant help ‘dress’ them in formal wear only to then walk around in their lavish homes and gardens lol. Most of us now just thrown on a pair of jeans and a T-shirt and call it a day.

QUERY 1 - For veggitarians, is there an acceptable substitute for the suet? (I realize that the taste cannot be reproduced, but want I am looking for a viable ingredient for texture and cooking.)
    -------------------------
QUERY 2 - WHY, oh WHY does the Christmas pudding need to steam for so very long? Surely it would be cooked through within the 1st hour and the steam would moisten and tenderize it all. Can the pudding be cooked more efficiently in a pressure cooker?
    -------------------------
Thank you, chef-viewers. Have a Happy New Year - we all deserve one!

I went to the Lord in prayer in 1976. I went to church and the missionary said when they shared rice and other simple blessings the people would wait in line for hours when the missionary would Share the Gospel she said when visiting Glad Tidings Church. Qn MA. That when it came to share. The Good News. Only a handful of people came to learn. ONE DOOR and only One but yet it sides are 2. Inside. And. Outside. His WAYS are NOT our ways. He should shares. Skills to mankind. Thank you so much for the Good things in Life and caring for it. Where I live some people dump in our rivers . Keep up all your wonderful caring ways. Great God. Great food and all delights. 😋

Right? I am in the southwestern part of the US. Here in most of the Mexican food they use a lot of cilantro, which is, I believe the same herb. Yuk! Tastes like soap.

Was there not a royal that loves hot boiled eggs after some morning routine, and since the chef knows not when he will be back; he has to discard the egg and make a new one about every 5 minutes so it will be hot, fresh and immediately ready to serve at its finest upon his return?
