I'm glad you listened to this as your introduction to Kansas, and rightly so, Dust In The Wind is also one of the hits! However, the album Leftoverture, which Carry On Wayward Son is on is stellar, the whole thing! I would check the songs: The Wall, Miracles Out Of Nowhere and then check out side B of Leftoverture! Also, check out: Can I Tell You(their first single), Song For America, Icarus Borne On Wings Of Steel, People Of The Southwind, Hold On, Play The Game Tonight, Windows, Crossfire, Fight Fire With Fire and the entire Absence Of Presence album are all phenomenal! Thank you!
I was a transplant from Ohio in 73 to Topeka Kansas. Some of the members of this group were from the high school that I started attending. Topeka West. I watched them in an outside amphitheater and indoors in the auditorium after their first album. The picture on their first album of them standing on that hill called Burnett's mound was directly behind the first house we lived in Topeka. To appreciate not only their love for music, but the mastery of instruments without computers is what I love. Carry on wayward son does not show the talent of the violin player Robbie. He is by far the best rock and roll/ progressive rock! Violinist to date. A silly side note, my sister sold jeans/ coveralls to some of the members from a local store because that's all they could wear lol. To get a sense of their evolution, you have to listen to each album in succession. A lot of them followed a theme and the songs told the story. The album covers were might interesting too. Why they are not in the rock and roll Hall of Fame is a mystery. Dust in the wind and carry-on wayward son are two of the most played , commercially successful and universally appreciated songs on radio. Not bad for a group of homespun Midwestern boys. Listening to you all made me understand the universal appeal. Trust me, repeated listenings over almost 50 years The appreciation stays the same. Keep up the good work.
KANSAS, "CARRY ON MY WAYWARD SON". I was born in 1957. Grew up in 60'S and 70'S in school. With the greatest music ever. Your two reaction was perfect. As I always said, the song's belong to the world too enjoy. ✌ from Wisconsin USA.
Kansas was a great band from the 70's. Kansas's musical style is a fusion of hard rock, southern rock & progressive rock. "Carry On Wayward Son" & "Dust In The Wind" are their 2 biggest hits. But they had other good songs such as "Point Of Know Return", "Hold On", "People Of The South Wind", "Play The Game Tonight", "Fight Fire With Fire", "All I Wanted" etc.
I hope you are able to translate what I am typing. I enjoyed your reaction. I hope you keep on enjoying music from decades of the past. It is truly good music. I don't know which one of is Italian but if you could teach me Italian, I would love it! Part of my heritage is Italian but I never learned the language. My paternal great grandparents are from Salerno Italy. They immigrated to America in 1909. Maybe you could teach me Italian and I could teach you English?
Musica eccezionale e band fantastica. Ci avevo visto lungo a 13 anni😅.
I was 15 years ago when I saw them perform this, before the album was even released. And Rush, in 1976. And Gentle Giant, whom the Italians supported so importantly. As an American, I was maybe somewhat unusual in that I loved PFM and Triumvirate, but not really. The Prog world of the early to mid 70s was a very special place. I am so happy that people your age are now accessing this stuff. Please react to Gentle Giant. "I Lost my Head," or whatever you want, really. And then check out Hawkwind if you really want to understand what we 70s hippies were all about. Gracie.
Love your reaction!! There are talented artists in Japan. Pls react to King & Prince!! They are one of the most popular boy bands in Japan. I highly recommend “ichiban” and “Tsukiyomi “. I’m looking forward to your reaction 😊Thank you from Japan🇯🇵

Wowza!, what a bella donna!.
BTW. Kansas is my favorite rock band.
Kansas - Dust in the Wind (Official Video)
Kansas was a one of a kind American band. About the only U.S. band to truly claim prog rock status. Try Song for America, a true anthem song.
