Diluc does know kaeya's secet(s) or atleast parts of it. And even tho the response to the reveal wasn't positive (which might have closed him off even more), kaeya can breath more easily (not having to constantly worry and control youself about saying too much) while in the company of Diluc. So perhaps that's why he prefers spending time with Diluc/in the Angel's Share + even tho their relationship isn't what it used to be, they did grow up together and were described to as close as twins.
Yeah, it confirms the fact that Kaeya’s secrets are affecting his relationships as he’s pigeon-holed into only have relationships with certain people.

On that faithful night where Diluc and Kaeya went their seperate ways, the vision Kaeya received functions as a "reminder of a hard-fought battle, and the prize that he earned in exchange for revealing the unadulterated truth" but he also sees it as "a stern reminder that he must live the rest of his life under the heavy burden of lies." This is from his vision story and tbh, I don't think Kaeya will reveal his secrets willingly to us. I think Mona summarized his fate pretty well: "Kaeya Alberich? He's a Pavo Ocellus. Destined for greatness and grandeur... and to hide ugly realities behind a layer of charm and elegance. He believes he has made a clean break with his past, but one day fate will catch up with him. When it does, he will have a major decision to make." The aspect of the social damage makes a lot of sense as well since he knew that when he told Diluc about his secret, he would be furious about it, "He had anticipated Diluc's anger". I think the only way Kaeya spills his secrets is through unfortunate circumstances like for example meeting Dainsleif, an Abyssal ambush on Mondstadt, the Fatui and so on... But there is still a level of trust between Diluc and Kaeya. Kaeya keeping the secret that Diluc is the Darknight Hero and Diluc not telling anyone about Kaeyas secret after all these years. I don't know where I'm going with this rant but I know for a fact that there is a desperate need for a Kaeya and Diluc reconciliation arc. Maybe after that Kaeya will be ready to be his true self again.
I agree about the need of that arc, but I don’t think that he ever discovered his true self since he had to lie since day one. Even as a kid (in Khaenriah before war lets say) it would still have been hard for him to find his true self, since it was already decided for him to be the prince and lead the nation later on… we need an arc for him to get his shit together too but that’ll be hard

I`m agree with you!!! It seems to me, that Kaeya is always ready to leave Mond, so he distancing (or at least trying to) from others AND searching for someone to replace himself as a protector of Mond. He told he`s happy knowing that Diluc have an assistant, he told Jean that the traveler was the one who organized the party, he also taking care of Noelle and Klee (and it possible about Bennet too). And he`s always complimenting others, but shy about himself. This man is amazing and seeing his suffering is painfull for me(

I also thought of that too, especially when he's also the Quartermaster for the KoF. He immediately approved of the Traveler's identity and informed Jean. Plausibly the person who recommended the Traveler to Jean and give them the "Honorary Knight" title.

I like psychology and I like Kaeya. This is a good combination of both lol good job! Of the many aspects of Kaeya, secrecy and mystery are my first impressions of him. And after unlocking more of his voice lines and stories, it seems he has a lot of issues, such as abandonment. Sometimes I feel Mihoyo split Batman into Diluc and Kaeya. Diluc got the rich boy vigilante persona, Kaeya got the psychological issues and a broken core. I'd like to see more talks about Kaeya, to me he's the most interesting character in Genshin. (And it's his birthday 11/30, so happy birthday to Kaeya!)

Ironically the Traveler probably can kind of understand him. Sure their backgrounds are different but sometimes I think the Traveler's secrets can be rather burdensome, there's even an NPC who claims to be a fortune teller who comments that the secrets they keep make them feel lonely sometimes (here's someone who found the NPC ruclips.net/video/Wb3G20YCAiw/видео.html 6:14 )
The Traveler is use to having their sibling around so there's always someone to talk to but now they don't and as we've seen in "We Will be Reunited" the Traveler doesn't tell Paimon everything.
Maybe one day Kaeya will reveal a few things to the Traveler or maybe the Traveler will reveal something to him, either way Kaeya seriously needs more friends.

I think Kaeya's secret will be revealed by dain instead of himself, he's more likely to confirm than spitting it out himself is how I currently think.
I imagine most of us look to him with suspicion. But never with empathy from the burden he must carry. This video changed my perspective, and hopefully others as well. Each video better than the last. You got talent my fellow Traveler

I wish we could, but it’ll likely happen in the endgame, (or mid game if mihoyo is beast at story twists). Hopefully it doesn’t end in tragedy : /

I have so many thoughts and feels for this character that it's not funny hahaha. Another thing I noticed about the fandom - I feel like a chunk of people are more interested in the lore/secrets he holds rather than Kaeya as a character/person. It's nice to see a sympathetic view toward him. I do hope for a happier future for him and a reconciliation arc with Diluc T__T Their relationship is never gonna be the same, but they both need it. And with their interactions, I think they both still care for each other. (I'm hoping the incoming 'bartending' event will have them interacting with each other.)

This is so interesting i rlly love it when ppl do psycho analysis of characters can u do albedo or xiao next i think both are pretty interesting since albedo is not a normal human but a synthetic human and also from khaenriah and xiao is a immortal thats been fighting off the evil from liyue and suffering coz of it theres also his whole backstory to unpack

Poor Kaeya… I can actually really relate to him irl. I’m a very fractious person, as I tend to keep 30-50 secrets at all times. I’m a get anxious as well hidden person, but I care a lot about others. His charm and his lore and the way he thinks relates to me irl sort of, which is why he’s my favorite character and always will be. Plus I’m gay so he’s kinda spicy lol
I think kaeya felt the need to confess and come clean to diluc is cuz his only link to diluc and their fragile bond is Crepus. Because crepus was alive, he can be brothers/sworn brothers with diluc but now the adopter is gone, hes back to the status of an orphan, a stranger in a foreign land, a potential threat to diluc.
Because diluc will investigate his father's death and now alone and grieving, he feels he lost his only ally in his dad (Blood bonds are still different) and who knows what he will discover. Since fatui can be tied with the abyss and the abyss is connected to kaeya. So he came clean. That hes an ally. He will not be a threat to him. He will protect mondstadt and him because thats what he could do for Crepus, his father figure. :')

Thank you so much for this video! I love your psychoanalysis read on him, and honestly this is what I've been thinking as well. He's my most favourite character not just in Genshin but overall, and I wish I could isekai myself to give him a hug and overtime make him believe me enough to share his burden of secrets. In the (English version) manga, Kaeya says him and Diluc are antiheros :0
I am skeptical of anything Kaeya says but in this case that does seem to be the case, although I think Kaeya admires Diluc because of his freedom to be the Darknight Hero, whereas, if speculation is correct, Kaeya is from Khaenri’ah, he likely feels chained to his lineage. Which is why I argue Kaeya needs to be freed from this burden or else it will be his downfall :(
Diluc is an antihero for mondstadt whereas Kaeya is likely an antihero for Khaenri’ah.
I've been looking for a channel like this that analyzes Genshin characters psychology, and I'm so glad youtube finally recommended it to me :D

This popped up in my recommended, super interesting topic too! :D Perhaps for future ones you could do Eula, Qiqi (how her memory loss effects her relationships, and how it might effect her mental state), Fischl (I don't know much about her, but it would be interesting to look into why she presents herself as a character from another book rather then herself, being Amy)

Also uh Kaeya and Diluc are stepbrothers (1:17) while I'm all about representation for LGBTQ+, that's a little concerning xd (this is shown is the manga, and also how the two got their visons if ya didn't know, won't spoil it but just in case ya didn't. Also probably why they wouldn't be shipped by the company itself as that stuff is reasonably not widely accepted and could be seen as controversial or whatever, idk I don't pay to much attention to that stuff lol).
I am aware of their step brother status haha which is what makes the ship all the more amusing.

okie dokez xD just wasn't sure if you were aware, ooo also if ya haven't done Thoma that could be interesting too seeing as in his hangout it's shown that many people in the yashiro commission talk behind his back and stuff, he appears to ignore it and in one of the other routes says it doesn't bother him, but that sorta stuff could probz wear at people's mental state, knowing that others may be spreading rumours abouts him that people he's close too (such as Ayaka) might hear. Not sure tho! xP
