Finally watched the Venti analysis! All the destructive behaviors make sense. Whoa. And, yeah...looks like the archons are trying to relieve themselves of the obligation to Celestia. Also...realized that the Queen chess piece has the 'freedom' to move across the board however it desires (except in the L-shape...but, basically it has a larger range of motion).
Hope you can do one of Fischl. More identity theft material which might be connected to Khaen'ria.

So far the chess pieces seems to fit their respective archons quite well, freedom with the queen and solid contracts with the rook. I thought at first that Ei would have the knight being the military head of Inazuma but I realize that the gnosis should fit Makoto instead as the original archon of Inazuma…
Identity theft would be an interesting angle for Fischl, but we know so little about her reasoning for the theft. Once we have an idea of that, a video will definitely be on the way!

Oh my archon, I would love it we would eventually get a story quest where Barbados starts to seriously deal with his trauma with the help of the Traveler, Jean and Diluc, etc.

Great video. Sounds accurate about Venti to me. Also, will you at any point make a video about Ei/Raiden Shogun?

That’s dark… but makes it more interesting to wait and see how Venti will be!

It is but I think it makes him so much more than just a friendly bard, which I think is awesome!

I love this video, despite what I'm about to say. This whole video I just wanted to shush you for all the stirring of my own personal issues. I definitely connected with Venti's character but now that I've watched this video, I know exactly why. When I was 4, I adopted the ideals, motives, and identity of Link from The Legend of Zelda. It may seem silly or even arbitrary, as he's the playable main character, but you'll see what I mean. I have always seen myself as Link, not just in playing the games later, but in every aspect of my life. I probably used it as an escape from my reality, but as an adult, I see it as an explanation for why my life has been awful: I was cursed by Demise to live in a cycle of awful. I know that it's maybe not healthy for me to think this, but I have my reasons for not telling my therapist. Besides, my lifetime of telling myself it's due to a curse has made things easier to deal with. It's simply my fate, so all I can do is put up with it and live life for the little good things.
That being said, if you haven't already, it's probably NOT a good idea to do what Venti and I have done.
Now for the real reason I'm saying all this! I've asked through the years how much of my own person I am. Here's what I've got: As much as I have based my identity and existence on Link, I have lived my own experiences and my own past as differently as any iteration of him has. Just how Wind Waker Link is an entirely different person from Skyward Sword Link, I am also my own person. Therefore, I think it is somewhat flawed to say that Venti/Barbatos is only making himself into or taking the identity of the young bard. Venti/Barbatos has his own experiences and emotions separate from the young bard. As much as he masquerades as the bard, nothing can strip away everything that has formed him differently from the young bard. In the end, as long as he is the one making decisions, as based as they are, they are still Venti/Barbatos' decisions. He is still living Venti/Barbatos' life.
Again, I really enjoyed this video, just thought I could bring another view into the picture or something. Idk it's way past my bedtime now lol

Hmmm I don't think this is entirely true... From the tiny peaces of lore I've read, I'd say Venti already had his own personality before meeting the bard, he helped the Gunnhildr family when they were dying from the cold and he was the first to discover wine in Mondstadt, too (taking the form of a fox). I do think the death of the nameless bard had a great impact on him indeed, no wonder he took his form and his role as a bard, but he's much more than that. He's lost many people throughout the years, Amos, the other original archons, Vennessa, and probably other people from the times he was awake, pretty much like how he's made friends with Jean, Diluc, the traveler and everyone else now. I think that explains why he can't simply get over his alcohol addiction; he can't accept that people come and go, that he'll have to deal with this again and again no matter what he does.
Besides of course, before even meeting the Gunnhildr family, he was an ordinary wind spirit with no special powers. It's implied on his character demo that he's born "from the branches of time", too; which connects him with the recent enka lore we just got. If you take a closer look, I think it'll help you understand his role as the God of Wind a little better! It's his job to cultivate "stories" that will "bloom" in due time, which also ties in with his role as a bard. But I do think that he does take the original bard's ideals seriously. The reason he decided to not rule over Mondstadt was exactly because they didn't want him to, after all; going against that would also mean going against what the original bard wanted for his people. The bard definitely left a huge impact on him, literally changed his entire life - but I just think this isn't the entirety of Venti's character. He says his role is to tell the stories, not to be the protagonist - Mondstadt's people should deal with their own problems themselves, unless they do need some bigger help.
Sorry for the rambling though, the video is quite nice and insightful regardless! Everyone has their own interpretations of a certain character, and to be fair, Genshin scatters way too much important lore, specially about specific characters such as Venti, it's difficult to keep up with everything.

You’re right, it is quite difficult to keep up with the sheer detail. I appreciate these comments because they often give more information than I remember. I think both of our theories can be correct at the same time. It adds even more credence to the fact that venti is indeed a very scarred character that likely acts all childish around people to mask his tragic past. Good food for thought :)
