    I dig your sax skills, Tuker. Blow Tucker Blow. Enjoyed the AEA microphone session as well. Also, what mic are you using in this video for the sax sound. Really nice!

      They are made by Johannes Gerber. His hand made pieces are perfection I highly recommend them! I'm playing on his Octa Supreme these days.

      Hey Tucker Antell, love you sound. Did you customize by replacing the cork with silver plated initiator or is it the stock cork on the neck...just curious? Thanks!

    do you consider this a dark mp

    • @tuckerantell8449
      @tuckerantell8449  7 лет назад

      hmmm I'd say it's fairly neutral. It can be brightened or darkened depending on the embouchure and the reed.

    • @daddycavefish
      @daddycavefish 7 лет назад

      i bought the vintage and the vibra master, i have high hopes for a dark sound any suggestions on these would be appreciated

    • @tuckerantell8449
      @tuckerantell8449  7 лет назад +4

      Reeds do A LOT in this regard. I find the Rigotti Gold's and La Voz to be brighter and Rico Jazz, Hemke and perhaps Vandoren's (depending on the cut) to be darker. It also depends on the strength -- If I go for the softer end of the strength spectrum within my comfort zone, it's easier to pull out those higher harmonics for a bright sound. Conversely, if I put on a harder reed, those higher frequencies are more subdued and the deeper harmonics ring through for an overall darker sound. The thing I love about these pieces is that I can do all of the above with a mixture of embouchure and reed choice, and usually carry around two different strengths/brands of reeds for the occasion so I can play either Lenny Pickett style GB wailing, or Stan Getz style trio. The greater effect of embouchure can't be overestimated though! Lip placement, amount of mouthpiece in the mouth, pressure etc.. all make changes so that you can dial in your sound.

    Good, but nothing i haven't heard before.

    • @zangsax

      Yeah I dont listen to all my Coltrane and dozens of other players recordings that i have listened to for the past 55 yrs of my saxophone playing because I heard them before...NOT. I guarantee you cant play anything that I haven’t heard or played before including multiphonics. So what is the constructive nature of that comment?

    • @Edspillanemusic
      @Edspillanemusic 4 года назад +2

      zangsax he probably tried playing some overtones but couldn’t so he took his frustration to RUclips lol

    • @soujouko1
      @soujouko1 4 года назад

      @@zangsax Yeah what it is mate, it's about not just regurgitating the Jamie Anusole book of jazz licks every time you pick up your horn, Slick, nice playing yes, after all I did say "Good', but ultimately, safe, comfortable. Where's the edge? Individuality? He certainly ain't no Coltrane!
