Couldn't agree more. The ZZR250 is the best 250 ever made. I had one in 200 and then sold it late 2001 and it is still going. I've recently bought another ZZR250. The engines are bullet proof providing you carry out regular ol changes otherwise top end will wear. The ninja250r has the same engine but with the addition of fuel injection.
160kph at 9500rpm.. that impressive. The reason i change the gear due to daily routine. I riding about 118km per day and riding below 110kph, due to highway speed limit. One thing that very sure is, the engine is a bulletproof as some people saying. I brought mine in 1997 and still on the road today. I guess, maybe that is the reason Kawasaki still using the same engine patent with their new Ninja 250r
yes..Im using almost 3 liter or less ( not really sure, I always top up the fuel) Ron 97 fuel for 112 km ride everyday, from my home to work place and back home, which cost me nearly about USD 3.29 per day (1 liter/ RM2.90 or 1 liter/USD0.95 RON97 price). Cruising 80kph to 100kph and still, the tank never get half full. The reason I always top up the fuel is, ZZR doesn't equipped with fuel indicator but that not bothering at all..still riding this bike for daily routine
hi..nice video.. a lot of rev i think, should you change drive gear teeth 14/38. 6000RPM at 100kmh.. and it will 165kmh at 11kRPM.. believe me, im riding ZZR250 too. By the way, i use a pairs of Brigdestone Battlax.. good rubber. recommended... Cheers!
Interesting, I think my bike must have been altered. It was not an import yet the speedo went to 220. At 9500RPM I sit on 160kph. Therefore I suspect the final gear on the rear must have been changed. It had 42.000 on it when I bought it.
Kawasaki has been dropping the rev limit of these bikes over the years. Early ones the cut comes in about 15500, then the later zzrs are dropped to 14500 and then again to I think it's 14000. That might be why. I have a 92 and it's got the higher rev cut
40hp. Pretty good for the bike requirements (couldnt sell higher hp bikes under that classification) plus even with a full tank of gas it's only about 160kg
I had one of these as a first bike, absolute brilliant bike.

That is why engine parts is easy to find.
nice video! still a little bit more left in the zzr250... you can get over 170km/h but it takes an eternity and the right conditions.

rear sprocket 38... i cant find 38 for zzr250.. are you using sprocket for other motorcycle.?
not throttling past truck because he's on a bend and wants to stay alive.
You have to rev these beauties high as peak power is up top.
